As a stylist I was doing the same research on these same flat irons 😂 and I found they're both the same just just different series and both give good silk press thanks for this video👑👏🏽
Your daughter has that old school, healthy, “only my mama is allowed to touch it” hair! This is the hair folks talk about having before they let perms ruin it! Lol 😆 Thank you, thank you, thank you for this comparison, demo, and review!!!!!!!! I have fine, thin, dry, 4b hair. I need something that performs well!!!
She will not have that hair for long. My hair is about 2 inches longer but my mom never put any chemicals or curls in my hair at that age. I didn't get a relaxer until I was well in high school and thankfully I have still long hair..I flat iron in moderation.
I'm a hairdresser and I can tell you right now the black one is just a flat iron. The blue one is a flat iron that can curl because of the edges. The blue one is also titanium one the outside and has a narrower surface area. Does that help? I have both. The black one I use for easier to relax hair because it is wider . The thinner blue one gets closer to the scalp and I can use it to curl .
She acknowledges that the other one is not the same model and is a straightening/curling vs. just straightening. She was just comparing Sally vs. Ulta but is saying you can get the identical one to the 1” straightening/curling iron at Sally’s for less than half of the cost.
@Lisa Crist can you recommend a flat iron, heat protect / straighting serum for natural 4C hair. I recently cut my hair in tampered style, however, i want add curls every other weekend.
Girla... Thank you so much for this video. You just saved me $156 dollars. WHAAATT!!! I went to Sally's to see what you were talking about. I started talking about this video with the salesperson who helped me and she told me about a limited edition Babyliss Pro Titanium gift set in a pink/purple color. It was the last one. It came with the Babyliss Pro that you already owned AND the mini straightener. The original price at Sally's was 90 compared to 210 for both of those at Ulta. I paid 53 dollars and some change. I just had to leave a comment because I am soooo appreciative of this video and glad I watched it. BTW, your daughter's hair is gorgeous.
I came into this video cringing because I brought the black one yesterday at Sally's. I thought the blue would be better and I'm kinda bougie so I like to have THE BEST everything, but my pockets weren't allowing it. I'm so relieved and happy that I got the black one now, thank you
Thank you so so much! I’ve been wanting to try out the prima. I just ordered it from Sally’s with a 20% off code. Regular $90 got it for $76 with free shipping! Score!
The black one at Sally's is not the ultra thin nano version. I know about the one at Sally's and still bought the slimline blue one. I have two, the 1 inch as well as the 1.5 inch. Love them. Excellent quality flat irons.
So glad I watched this cuz you just put me on to game! I think it’s just the black doesn’t look as signature as the blue and less ppl buying it so the price is less. And your daughter is ADORBS! 🥰
I just watched this video in Sally’s and they couldn’t tell me the difference either. I just got a BaByliss Pro Prima and a mini iron for $53. The iron itself was over $120 at Ulta. Thanks for sharing!!!
I’ve heard both are really good . They problem most people have is that the blue iron stops working after a year. I think it’s because even though the blue iron can go up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit they material and electrical inside the tool cannot actually withstand the heat. The iron gets shorted and then it either frys/sparks or it won’t even turn on. So if you do get the blue iron don’t use the highest settings
Thank you for that demo. I was worried about what straightener to use on my daughter's hair that was good quality and got the job done quick. Plus the use of the CHI product to help protect from heat. Great video. Daughter has beautiful hair.
I just recently purchased the Babyliss pro prima 3100 and I am in love😍..I love the slim design although they are a lil bit heavy..However I am very pleased
I’ve had mine from Sally’s over two years and it works great . I have 4b hair and it works great . Plus I get professional discount so that helped with cost as well .
The blue ones have longer warranties and outside or casing are made of something called Ryton, which is why I think they are pricier. But the plates and sizes are the same if you buy the same style.
Thank you so much for the demo, because I was just researching the diffrence between the the two (blue and black ones) and found nothing. Just one says nano so maybe the blue one is just a smaller version of the other one and they just changed the color 🤷🏾♀️ anywho, thanks for this!
Great comparisons, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I agree that the outcome for both based on the device settings still provided great results. I am more confident and determined in buying the Ulta Titanium Babyliss Pro Prima 3000 model. Your daughter's hair is beautiful. Hi five to you both. Cheers
After doing ALOT of research, I purchased the Babyliss pro flat iron you recommended from Sally Beauty Supply. It did a great job on my daughter's hair, but she's got A LOT of work to get her healthy again. I am very pleased. Going to try it on my hair next. I've been looking for a way to straighten mine and my daughter's hair without perming it. Love your hair by the way.
I just bought the black baby kiss flat irons 2 months ago. I get perms but I have thought about getting a since I’ve been using these flat irons. I love them. My daughter has the same type of hair. I want to try on her as well.
The difference is most likely to do with the diffrent quality parts and components, and the manufacturer subcontractors used in China . The retail version that sally sells is most likely an exclusive made with cheaper parts and assembled by a less know manufacturer in China , most likely the same ones making the unauthorized counterfeit versions and selling them in $35 range . The professional version sold in Ulta stores, is made with top quality long lasting dependable parts, and assembled under strict quality controls by the best flat iron manufacturer in Shenzhen China that have passed all the international Quality and safety certification programs and requirements needed. The same certificates that apple demands and stipulates prior to subcontracting the Iphone manufacturing to them . Hope this helps explain the price difference . That's why electronic products made in Japan cost much more that they do in China .
I have both. My hubby got them for me for Christmas. But the primo thats blue and silver. Mine is rose gold and white. Ive only used them once but the 1 half inch black one is best for silk blow out. The other is best for curls. I love them both. I have babyliss everything. I wish he would have stuck with the blue theme tho.
She has beautiful hair! I just bought one at sally today. Was like 83$. But it lok just like the blue one except has a black handle. Hoping it works great.
I just bought my babyliss 1 1/4 iron for $100 from groupon .. came with a travel size blow dryer and pretty pink bag for both items. I'm so excited to try it today.. with the hair iron I had.. my hair always looked so frizzy.. but I'm very hopeful for my babyliss iron to be 100 times better.
First time watching your video. Your daughter hair is beautiful strong thick and healthy👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Big ups time you for taking value in keeping up with the care for your daughter hair. Also I just ordered my babyliss pro 3000 and the price is $69.99 Yay Retail Store. Hunni great reviews with the site and products. I’m excited to get my babyliss. I’ve alway like Nano flat irons for my hair texture titanium is the best for me. 1 more thing I’m into CHI Hair products myself. God bless y’all during this Pandemic time..✌🏽💪🏾❤️
.... but if you have to do 3 passes vs 1 then they clearly AREN'T the same. Also, the blue is better for curling and getting closer to scalp. Plus I bet you good $ it lasts longer cause it's prob made better.
I just got that 1 at Sally's I love it straightened my hair in 1 pass. Now I just used it yesterday so hopefully my hair stays straight for the week. Your video was helpful because I didnt see any others on that flat iron. And Sally's is great I caught a sale got the flat iron and a 3/4 curling iron for $70.00
I just want to take time to thank you for making this video!!! Totally needed this after making my purchase, and not understanding why the drastic price difference between the 2. New subbie. Btw, your daughter is gorgeous, and so is her hair.
They both serve different purposes the black one is cheaper for a reason it does not close as thinly as the blue ones and looks cheaper. They yield similar results but mmm not quite
Yes that black one doesn't have the "nano titanium" technology either. You'd want the Prima 3000 if you for curl and flip just because of the curved edges so it makes more sense to go with that one
I know this video is really old, but if she wants to know the difference between the Sally's black iron and the "standard" blue and prima 3100 iron that you see everyone on youtube using, it is very clear and comes down to the features. The Prima 3100 is from the "Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Line" and includes features that the sally iron does not, such as solid titanium plates, nano technology, digital heat setting, higher heat settings. In addition, Babyliss has a different line called "Babyliss Pro Titanium Line" which are all black and sold EXCLUSIVELY by Sally. THe iron she used on her daughter is from that exclusive Sally line of products. So, my guess is that the lesser price stems from (a) it being specifically made for sally beauty (perhaps cheaper construction/materials), (b) no nano tech, (3) no digital controls. Of course, I could be wrong.
I have the 3000. I purchased another cheaper one that's blue and wider ($139) and it was good but I wanted to see how the blue/silver 3000 works. I like it better. Yes it cost more ($179) at Ulta but I exchanged it and paid the difference. I used the 20% discount as well, plus they were giving away the Babyliss baby pro w/purchase which is good for the crown area. I'm happy. I had stalked the Babyliss family at Ulta for months (lol) and finally gave in once they had the 20% discount on all hot tools, plus the free baby Babyliss. I told myself to keep checking for sales b4 purchasing.
Also, I wanted to say, your issue is with the buyer/purchase dept/procurement specialist of Ulta & Sally's, I think. Many companies (like these 2) usually have these people/departments to negotiate prices for supplies for their company with the manufacturer of the companies they are selling the product to (such as BaByliss). That's why you see different prices for the same item at a convenience store compared to stores like Walmart or target or CVS, etc. Customer service should've either told you that(which they probably ont know that) or asked their mgr to talk to you. Hope that made sense. Hv a good day!!
Your daughter hair is Gorgeous! I always use the blue one. My first Babyliss was the black one years ago. But I'm hooked on the blue one because it's less pass..
Great video, I was trying to decide between the 2 since Sally's is having a sale but so is jcpenney, $75 compared to $150. But I read that the outer plates on the Sally's babyliss prima one don't heat up so I wonder if that will effect how good it curls. The curls from the blue one are gorgeous!
Hold up....... you’re saying they sell the same flat iron at Sally’s just in a different color??? Thank you so much for sharing this. Also, what was the pink tool you used as you flat ironed? It looked like some sort of comb or brush..... BTW your daughter has absolutely gorgeous hair and you made styling look so easy! I struggle doing curls with the flat iron ( which is why I’m researching the Babyliss one). Great video
Thanks so much for this review. Just saved me $60... I was about to the Babyliss Pro Prima buy from JCP ($153) but saw your review and went straight to Sally's. I hope it gives me awesome results!
I got two of them for Marshall’s. Had one of them for 10 years as well. It just went out. I was so hurt. When ever I see them at Marshall’s I just grab them. Best iron out for our hair.buy I just broke down and got the 3000.
I got the one from Sally’s there’s on sale two for 75. The one inch and the curling iron. I don’t know how to used the curly one but I figured for the price is excellent. I got the blue one in Amazon it was only 140 and I love it as well. But the best one I ever got is In Marshall’s for 39.99 look at my hair.. nothing like that one called Fahrenheit.
I'm trying to buy the babyliss prima 3000 or 3100 from Sally's and it won't let me because I have to have a beauty license. I don't get it. Are you a beautician? How did you purchase yours? This is so frustrating. I hope you can help me. Thanks for the video. It was awesome!
Thank you for responding. I just bought the black one but the lady at Sally's said that they don't sell the blue one that can curl to people who don't have a license. It's so strange. I live in Florida so I don't know if it's just different here. Thanks for your time.
The blue babyliss flatirons all have a nano technology in them and the black ones do not. That's the the difference. Nano technology flatirons will cost more than the regular ones.
Ah, yes ok this makes sense! I saw both the blue and black ones at Bed, Bath, and Beyond today and the only difference I saw was the blue one said nano. I grabbed the blue one.
2 things ive learn in school, combing hair after heat has been applied is a no no, and Sally's babyliss unless it's blue and titanium ain't the real deal
Created To Worship apply that to curling, as you do not want to disturb the curl pattern setting. Like when some hair dressers will curl the hair and use a duck tail clip, or any clip to “pin curl” the hair in place until they’re done with your whole head. They’re allowing it to “cool” therefore allowing your hair to hold a curl longer. If you’re going bone straight-there is no difference and it wouldn’t matter that you comb directly through it after passing the flatiron or hot comb through 💞

Get a blow dryer that is at least 2000 watt. Ionic one if you can find it. I use the 2000 Watt BaByliss blow dryer. I also have the 2200 Watt Tyche blow dryer. Maybe you'll like them. 😊
@@mymiracle79 you're welcome 😘 I should've told you that depending in the kind of hair you have, if you have real fine hair, 2000 watt will probably be too powerful for you. It's all in the wattage. So, if your hair is like that 1800-1850 watt & up will be for you. Ionic dryer helps keep moisture in your hair after drying. Good luck in your search! My hair is kinda long, and I think the dryer & the way I blow my hair helped in my hair growth. Someone said, "the higher the wattage, the hotter and faster the blow dryer". I think it's true.
THANK YOU for this video! Even 2 years later, still super helpful - saved me a ton of money. Appreciate it!
As a stylist I was doing the same research on these same flat irons 😂 and I found they're both the same just just different series and both give good silk press thanks for this video👑👏🏽

relaxers aint the only thing that ruin folks hair. not being taught how to take care of it is #1 on the list

sally has a black one with the titanium outer shell that can curl just like the blue one, so it's no difference
@Lisa Crist can you recommend a flat iron, heat protect / straighting serum for natural 4C hair. I recently cut my hair in tampered style, however, i want add curls every other weekend.
The difference is obvious
I needed this more than I know. THANK YOU. Still baffled the babyliss agent didn’t know. SIR, THIS IS YOUR PRODUCT
Girla... Thank you so much for this video. You just saved me $156 dollars. WHAAATT!!! I went to Sally's to see what you were talking about. I just bought mines at Sally's i have the black one and i love it did my hair and it is my best flat iron i have now. Paid 65.00 for it.

I just watched this video in Sally’s and they couldn’t tell me the difference either. I just got a BaByliss Pro Prima and a mini iron for $53. The iron itself was over $120 at Ulta. Thanks for sharing!!!
the*mom*boss facts me too 😂 people looking at me crazy
I think the prima is a “lite” version of the pro
Queen Ki That makes sense. Thankfully, it still does the job. I love it.
I’ve heard both are really good . They problem most people have is that the blue iron stops working after a year. I just bought the blue one. It better NOT stop working after a year!! I'll be straight up mad spending $150.
So glad l found this video before making my purchase! My pocketbook appreciates you!
you are so welcome
What is the name of the hair iron you have had for 10 years ! 😂😭❤️
Thank you for that demo. I was worried about what straightener to use on my daughter's hair that was good quality and got the job done quick. Plus the use of the CHI product to help protect from heat. Great video. Daughter has beautiful hair.
Thank you
The nano-titanium ultra thin has the dial that goes from 200-450 and you can adjust the dial to in between
I just recently purchased the Babyliss pro prima 3100 and I am in love😍..I love the slim design although they are a lil bit heavy..However I am very pleased
Thank you! This is the only comparison video of these I could find.
You are welcome
I’ve had mine from Sally’s over two years and it works great . I have 4b hair and it works great . Plus I get professional discount so that helped with cost as well .
The blue ones have longer warranties and outside or casing are made of something called Ryton, which is why I think they are pricier. But the plates and sizes are the same if you buy the same style.
Yesss! I also bought mine for $65 at Sally's & the 2yr warranty. I have the nano pro blue 2 in. flat irons that I've had for years!!
I am so glad I saw this video. Just saved me about $100. I wanted the Babyliss pro flat irons so bad but didn’t really want to spend $160 for them.
Thank you so much for the demo, because I was just researching the diffrence between the the two (blue and black ones) and found nothing. Just one says nano so maybe the blue one is just a smaller version of the other one and they just changed the color 🤷🏾♀️ anywho, thanks for this!
I love that thermal brush you’re using thank you for this review! ❤️
I've been looking for a way to straighten mine and my daughter's hair without perming it. Love your hair by the way.
im glad it all worked out
Thank you! I ordered the one from Sally’s. Hot tools are 40% off right now
brittanyonashore same here.
I have the hot tools and bb flat irons, and i prefer the hot tools iron🤷♀️hot tools style lasts longer. Imo
This is the second review I've seen on this iron (the black one) I'm excited about trying it out. Thanks
I just bought the black baby kiss flat irons 2 months ago. I get perms but I have thought about getting a since I’ve been using these flat irons. I love them. My daughter has the same type of hair. I want to try on her as well.
I like them both!! Ur daughter is beautiful and you did a great job on her hair!!

This is the best explanation I've read. I just wonder why Babyliss would allow their name to be put on subpar (Sally's) items.

I have both irons but the blue one is better to me
First time watching your video. Your daughter hair is beautiful strong thick and healthy👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Big ups time you for taking value in keeping up with the care for your daughter hair. Great video! Thanks for comparing them!
Her hair turned out beautiful using both. Thanks for the demo.
no problem
Thank you

This is exactly what I needed to know today ! THANK YOU!

Yes that black one doesn't have the "nano titanium" technology either. You'd want the Prima 3000 if you for curl and flip just because of the curved edges so it makes more sense to go with that one
Olivia J yea I own the blue thin one and love it but may get the prima I’m just scared to burn myself lol 😆

She said she spoke to a person from customer service at BaByliss and they couldn't tell the difference lol like.. why didn't they know any of this?
I have the 3000. I purchased another cheaper one that's blue and wider ($139) and it was good but I wanted to see how the blue/silver 3000 works. I like it better. Thank you for this is was wondering the same about the Sally's babyliss and blue babyliss
Girl I ran to the store and got the sally one and returned that other one... you saved me some bucks!
Your daughter hair is Gorgeous! I always use the blue one. My first Babyliss was the black one years ago. But I'm hooked on the blue one because it's less pass..
Thank you and I agree
You're the real MVP
Thanks for the video. You did an amazing job on your daughter hair😘
Brilliance New York 1" pro I had it for 5 years they are titanium $68.00 the best !!!!
You remind me of my cuz Nae..I'm sitting here like "Mmm hmm, right right!" 😂😂🍵thank you for your video👍🏾
Thank you
Because it’s a one inch so curls are tighter
Hold up....... you’re saying they sell the same flat iron at Sally’s just in a different color??? Thank you so much for sharing this. Also, what was the pink tool you used as you flat ironed? It looked like some sort of comb or brush..... BTW your daughter has absolutely gorgeous hair and you made styling look so easy! I struggle doing curls with the flat iron ( which is why I’m researching the Babyliss one). Great video
Thank you! What was the Chi serum you put in her hair? By the way it came out beautiful!
Thank you so much for your review! I brought the one from Sallys. It works great with 4C natural hair.
you are welcome
Thank You for this ...glad I checked RUclips before making a purchase! you saved me money 👍🏽
Im glad I was able to help
Thank you sis! Very detailed and informative!
Thank you !!! Helped me figure out what to buy for my sister !!! ❤️
Nice video. I need one that waves as well as straightens
They had a sale today. I bought a limited edition babyliss pro 3000 prima for $45
kiss butt where?
is it still working?
How long would you say it took to straighten your daughter's hair?
Beautiful hair and daughter. Thanks for the demo
She has some beautiful hair!!
thanks
Do you think the black one will work for 4c hair?
Have you tried the CROC....and thanks I wondered about the ones from Sally's
Thanks so much for this review. Just saved me $60... I was about to the Babyliss Pro Prima buy from JCP ($153) but saw your review and went straight to Sally's. I hope it gives me awesome results!
you are welcome
Girl. Yesss! Just the research I was looking for. THANK YOU!
Thank you. I'll be getting one from Sally's.
you welcome
I got two of them for Marshall’s. Had one of them for 10 years as well. It just went out. I was so hurt. When ever I see them at Marshall’s I just grab them. Best iron out for our hair.buy I just broke down and got the 3000.
I looove you for this!! saved me $$. Thank you!
I am not a beautician. I just walked in the store and purchased it. You should not need a beautician license to purchase this tool.
Thank you for responding. I just bought the black one but the lady at Sally's said that they don't sell the blue one that can curl to people who don't have a license. It's so strange. I live in Florida so I don't know if it's just different here. Thanks for your time.
@@alexjourney24 The blue one must be better then.
The blue babyliss flatirons all have a nano technology in them and the black ones do not. That's the the difference. Nano technology flatirons will cost more than the regular ones.
Thank you
What does nanotechnology do?
Ah, yes ok this makes sense! I saw both the blue and black ones at Bed, Bath, and Beyond today and the only difference I saw was the blue one said nano. I grabbed the blue one.
@@Cutest5x Supposed to lessen the damage.
Loved this video it was very informative
2 things ive learn in school, combing hair after heat has been applied is a no no, and Sally's babyliss unless it's blue and titanium ain't the real deal
Sally's Rusk products are also trash. I use the real Rusk from the licensed professional store and there's definitely a difference.
So when are you supposed to comb it? Can you elaborate?
why cant we comb our hair after using flat iron?
Created To Worship apply that to curling, as you do not want to disturb the curl pattern setting. Like when some hair dressers will curl the hair and use a duck tail clip, or any clip to “pin curl” the hair in place until they’re done with your whole head. They’re allowing it to “cool” therefore allowing your hair to hold a curl longer. If you’re going bone straight-there is no difference and it wouldn’t matter that you comb directly through it after passing the flatiron or hot comb through 💞

Can the iron get hot enough to fry bacon?
The ones from the website are blue . Was Sally’s ceramic or titanium
okteri it’s titanium. It says it on the side.
Thanks you for the review you’re daughter haves beautiful hair 😍
Ty girl I'm buying me both 😁 really needed a good review great job awesome ☕⚘

What heat protectant did you use on your daughter’s hair?
I really enjoyed this video.
Thank you
Thank you , bought the one from Sallys’s, saved me some coins .
you welcome
Check Groupon! They are on there as well
What leave in or serum did you use
So what blow dryer would you recommend from Sally's? Thank you in advance.
The blow dryer that I recommend is no longer there. It was the hot tools paddle brush blow dryer
Get a blow dryer that is at least 2000 watt. Ionic one if you can find it. I use the 2000 Watt BaByliss blow dryer. I also have the 2200 Watt Tyche blow dryer. Maybe you'll like them. 😊
@@neetrab thank you
@@mymiracle79 you're welcome 😘 I should've told you that depending in the kind of hair you have, if you have real fine hair, 2000 watt will probably be too powerful for you.
I think it's true.
what type of rattail comb are you using?
Thank you
I called Babyliss and I was informed the difference is the Prima has Ionic and the other does not
Is prima the black one? One Sally's website its called the LT version. What is ionic ?
Thank you for doing that!
thank you for this!!!
Thank u 4 the video
