I tried this method with the kids I teach and it just wasn't yielding results so I tried a different approach. I lay them on a bench and show them how to move arms first. Then we float in water and pull the arms until they do a full butterfly pull. This teaches them the strength of keeping head down to maximize the pull created by the arms. Then I incorporate the first kick. Kick once with semi straight legs as you pull. Then I add the second kick which I tell them to do when the hands are back to stream line float. some how the wave comes with the movement. This works for me because I have a class of about 20-30kids. They don't all instantly get it but since we have 1 lesson per class per week it helps the kids to learn faster than they normally would considering each class has 10 lessons in 3 months.
Awesome
Very challenging. Thanks for the innovative ideas with butterfly stroke. I will try these and give feedback.
You’re welcome! I’m pleased you like it! Let me know how you get on?
I like your videos
Thank you. 🙏🏼
All was well until the one arm drill.
First off in order to do it, the learner needs to know exactly how to breath to the side (a whole set of skills in itself)
Secondly - One arm fly can mean a bent arm recovery which surprise surprise is the reason this learner has bent arms on the recovery.
As for his Butterfly, it's not that bad guys. Bent arms on the recovery and a bit too much bend at the knees but it's not bad.
Note to anyone learning:
An excellent swimmer doesn't necessarily mean a good teacher. It's the results that count.
And yes I'm a teacher. See my rant about butterfly on my unpopular channel lol
waoo super

Take some butterfly lessons yourself, before you teach others.
LOL Actually these skills are excellent ways to learn butterfly but I have to agree he did not look to good when he was swimming it
Exactly
actually, he didn`t teach club swimmers but only an early stage. However, many swim teachers in the UK cannot swim butterfly or breaststroke at all but the are teaching kids;)

Юрко I agree! 🤗👍🏼
I know that there are many great trainers out there that don't swim well - but if you can't show it correctly stay out of the pool and explain things, little girl swims much better than her teacher.
that butterfly form is a little bit..um...unsual
Thank you! 🙏🏼
This guy doesn't know how to swim butterfly- another Y/T "specialist" conman trying to make easy money.
