Thats a lovely model! I have a TE1, its quite banged up but it (hopefully) will work. It hasn't been tested since I restored it. There is something satisfying about steaming little engines like yours.
Yes, I have one of their Old Smoky steamrollers that I got for Christmas when I was a teenager, haven't ran it in many years but it still looks good and I still have the original box it came in.
ive just dug mine out of my mums im waiting on a few bits and bobs for it. i hope to have it running this week itll be the first time in 40 yrs from it run. I cant wait lolol
Where do you find replacement parts? I've also got one about 40 years old and I need a new spring, been using a rubber band for years now. I should probably also replace the valve.
Does anybody know how to stiffen up the front axle or lock it in one position to go round in circles please,my instructions don't explain this simply saying adjust knurled knob at funnel but the knob doesn't even touch the steering mechanism ?
Holding the camera or phone while you perform all these activities makes for a very jittery video. It's an automatic FAIL. Get yourself a tripod ... or go home.
Fantastic live video of this lovely model 👍best wishes shaun Elstree 👍

I still have mine, same overall colors pretty much, but I don't have the rubber tyre overlays. Mine is the bare metal wheels version.
Mines the same
Lovely model
Looking to get one in the original green as mine has been painted black
Still nice tho

the instructions that Mamod sends with their engines are not as good as they should be
Hi just got one off these what oill do you use
Just the oil Mamod sell
Where do you get the rubber tires?
They come with the engine now. I think you can also buy them from the Mamod spares section on their website
Where can you buy this or did you make it
I bought this off of the Mamod website
mamod.com
@@Harry_55 thanks!
Sir, have you been drinking at all tonight?
Could it run off of rubbing Alcohol?
Mamod TE1A traction engine can run on: methylated spirits and solid fuel. They can not run on anything else
@@jessetaylor7532 so would it?
@@gabrielm1420 you could try - there is other alcohols out there that will work with a meths burner but it may stink or it won't burn as well.
@@gabrielm1420 Yes, some fuels may vary with how long they last and how long it takes to boil the water
i got one but its a bit decrepid
still works though
E
Hmmmm not quite sure you know what you are doing

I have one now, so maybe I will make another video using it.
@@Harry_55 How you got over 4000 views I'll never know. It's not even a lot but when I struggle to get over 100 views for a steam video...
I dont see your perfect video Harpo? Dont like it, dont watch it... Simple as that!
