    I’ve never played this game but from watching this I do want to give the developers a little credit. Most of the mini games in concept are surprisingly faithful adaptations of various moments from the film. It did remind me just how great the movie is and that I really need to watch it again.

      Hey, nice to see you here. I've yet to watch the film, but I've heard good things about it.

    I hope you won’t be too turned off by the concept of a Nickelodeon mini-game compilation title by the time you get around to reviewing SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants!, because that game was a childhood favorite of mine, and I still enjoy it quite a lot to this very day.
    It has a very jarring difficulty spike towards the halfway point of its single-player mode, even on the easier difficulty settings, but it’s otherwise a very fun time, with lots of creative and memorable mini-games. Oh, and the soundtrack is one of the absolute best in any licensed video game. I’m not exaggerating about that; its music is perfectly balanced between doing a great job at all the main styles of music, with a different kind for each setting that the mini-games take place in (surf music at Goo Lagoon; country in Jellyfish Fields; rock ‘n’ roll at Mrs. Puff’s Boating School; etc.).

    Next week is what I have been looking forward to for nearly two years. Rugrats Royal Ransom is one of those games that I personally quite enjoy, but it's a critically flawed experience. I hope you enjoy the Wrath of Cortex design philosophy of having a million different gameplay styles, because that's what Royal Ransom is. And then there's the difficulty....oh boy! At the end of the day though, it's your choice if you want to play on Reptar Hard mode, but I promise you it ain't exactly pretty.

    The PC version of the game, which surprisingly works on my Windows 10 computer, is remarkably similar to the GBA version, having very much the same mini-games in very much the same order, with the only difference being that the game now has 3D graphics and full voice acting.
    I guess it shouldn't be too surprising since both versions share a developer, but at least this time around you're not really missing out on anything by not covering the PC version of a Nickelodeon game released on both computers and consoles.

    I think I read once ‘Go Wild’ was meant to be just a TV movie, but Nick changed their minds.

      That's true, but what changed Nickelodeon's mind was how much the test audience loved the TV movie, so they gave it the movie treatment hoping critics will still respond the same.

    This game honestly looks like the games I would make in my high school video game design class!

      That's.....actually believable. Ignoring the graphics which could have taken a while to do despite how ugly it looks, the actual game design looks like something that you can do in a few weeks, possibly less if you're a fast designer.

      It really does have that "attempting to make my very first video game" feel about it

      If it wasn't for such a channel as passionate as Cartoon Review, a lot of these games would have remained obscure for at least a hundred years.

    The movie this game was based on was ok for it was it just suffered the same problem almost every movie based on an animated television show had back then , it was just an extended episode of the show with a bigger budget for the animation.

      @austinhinton3944 3 года назад +1

      The more successful ones (Rugrats and Recess, for example) had a much bigger and grander stakes than a normal episode did. Many later ones were just glorified TV specials.
