Always good to revisit this amazing area Chris. Maybe I should do it this way round and have the beer at the end rather than the beginning haha! A lovely walk in a stunning place with Tom, what's not to love eh! How many pokemon did he catch? Cheers lads!
Haha - must admit to having a chuckle when you grabbed the stove! Looking forward to the Vern reviews Chris as I will be able to watch them without the infernal ad breaks!!
Thanks for taking us along on this scenic hike with your son , Tom. One thing that always impresses me are the beautiful, well maintained stone property diving walls you have in the UK. I live in the Middle Atlantic States here in the U.S. were there are quite a few stone walls. Sadly many are badly maintained with trees growing up in them and falling apart. Most are but half the age of the ones you folks have. We need to take better care of our history over here.
Hi Chris, awesome video. One of the my favourite places stunning countryside. Been a but behind watch vids got a bit of catching up to do. Have a great week see you on the next adventure 👍😊 ⛺
There is a good documentary about the Pendle Witch trials, definitely worth a watch. Shows how easily people are led, and sadly still are. Great vid, keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Brilliant to still get out and especially with your boy, I wish I could take mine to these kinds of places but we live in cambodia so it's too hot all the time. Maybe when I come visit home 😂. Keep on keeping on!
Quality time with your lad. You want to be up there when they have the Full Tour of Pendle fell race at the end of the year and watch the runners descend into Ogden Clough it's awe-inspiring. One day you'll tackle Mearley Clough from Worston and have your brew near the Scout cairn pal. Keep 'em coming Chris.😊🥾👊
Struggling down a step. Picking up very hot metal. Definitely getting old😅 The sound of buzzards ( and curlew) makes any hill walk special. Nice relaxing film Chris.
Haha, the signs are there! Some lovely Curlew and Lapwing on the lower fields - nature is amazing - asks nothing of us other than our respect. ATB, Chris
I prefer that way too, apart from I'll go across the dam and through the woods. Brings you out where you did that shot at the beginning at the metal bridge. Don't know if you've seen it but just down by the river at that bridge there's a little plinth with a poem on in dedication to the witches. If I remember rightly they dot the route they took to Lancaster castle. I always though it would make a good walk to do over a few days
Yes mate, Tercet stones I think they're called, been pretty much every way to the summit - I think my next time I'll go from Downham which is a quality little village. Thanks for watching mate
The Windburner is my go to stove and I just love it. I was lucky enough to pick one up of a guy for £50 brand new because he’d been bought it as a gift but already had one, I do think they’re expensive for what they are but in my case that irrelevant. It’s never let me down.
@#mcmoutdoors nice ... love your boots !! What are they???.. haven't seen you wearing that Columbia omni heat rain coat for a while! Do you fancy flogging it to me... wow!!!! I do not envy you carrying that vern 2.. it is as you say " a beast ". Am looking forward to your review of the vern 1... though how defensive you are of the soulo makes me wonder... ha ha ha just messing ... I hope your hand is not too blisterd.. hope you stuck it in the river to cool down the burn...take care out there mate...
Cheers, boots are Meindl Bhutan MFS - quality. I use the jacket a lot - were out walking regularly, but don't always take the camera. The Vern 2 is an utter unit! Owned the Soulo for many, many years and it's unbeaten for me at the moment.
Great little video pal. When you brew up it always reminds me of my dear dad, who when we were kids always had a paraffin stove, when we went anywhere. I can still smell it and see him brewing up for us. Lovely. Thanks for sharing.
I did a wildcamp up there straight from work Friday night. The usual clag was down, I couldn't see more than 20 steps. The sky cleared around midnight and stayed that way until I got down on Saturday. The first time for many years that I've been able to see the Bowland Fells from there. 😂 Thanks for sharing, I look forward to seeing your next video.
Nice wee wander there. Good to see Tom chasing pocketmuns 😂😂 stove looks good. Nice compact design. It’s always a bonus that the gas fits in with the burner. Send cursed gypsy ferrets. 👍
Brilliant video Chris with stunning views , Looking forward to your new tent reviews I watched your Soulo BL video a number of times before I bought mine , Keep up the good work bud 🤙
Did well that one mate - for me (at the moment), the Soulo is the best one person shelter on the market. A doddle to pitch and strike, even in very strong winds. It's not "heavy" unless you're an ultralight camper. I look forward to comparing it with the Vern 1 👌🏕️
Top video Chris! Can't beat Pendle hill it has everything. Thanks for keeping the burnt hand bit in it was funny as f*** nice to see you keeping it genuine and real, the misses was giggling her head off hopefully the hand is ok😂 I think the best youtubers are the ones who keep it real and you are deffo one of them mate, always look forward to your videos! Looking forward to the nortent review too. Keep up the great work. ATB.
Haha, yeah - I wasn't paying attention - certainly woke me up 😂 a top area mate and one of our favourites! Thanks for watching and taking time out to comment 👍
Great video Chris. I've said before, i love your Pendle Hill adventures. I was camping there a couple of weeks back, came down Ogden Clough...what a route. Loved it. And MSR...say no more 👌 i use the windburner duo for two + more of us. Quality!
Great video again Chris, love that area. I'm looking to upgrade my tent. Been watching mcm outdoors for a while now and I like the look of the Nordisk halland 2 lw you have. Between this and a fjallraven tent, which would you choose? Both around same price. Keep up the good work with the channel.
Depends which Fjallräven tent mate - then Halland 2LW is a brilliant light weight tunnel tent - around 1.4kg and bags of space. Quality too - but it's only 2/3 season. I don't use mine in horrendous weather, but a cracking tent.
Love seeing you passing on your love for the ourdoors to your lad. Add in that he is likely to catch a few rare Pokémon at the same time, will likely lead to bragging rights with his mates and you never know, you could end up with a group on your walks going forward 👍
Lovely moment there around the 11 minute mark....... Father & Son, sat next to each other, in silence, about to tuck in to a sausage roll. It's all about the small things. Stove system looks canny, unfortunately I'm under a stove embargo this year........ so........ you know how it is! ATB
Absolutely, top day out doing what we enjoy. Being single, I have nobody to rein me in around outdoor purchases, not sure if that's a good or a bad thing 😁 thanks for watching mate 👍
As always a amazing video! I live in Smyrna Georgia USA and we have a extremely long trail called the Silver Comet trail. If I recall it goes through Georgia to State of Alabama.
Your channel has inspired not only me but so many others Chris the effort you do with your kids is incredible so when your down please look back and if possible reflect your a a top man all the best 👏👏👏👏👏

A favourite little loop of ours mate. You can get a real sense of solitude if you go during the right times. ATB! 🏕️
Well done 👍 Thanks for the important safety tip 👈😉 And here's to enjoying a well earned pint at the end of a great hike 🍻 Cheers!
Always got to finish with a pint in the pub when hiking in the UK 😁
Fantastic 👌🏻
Thanks pal

@MCMOutdoors I need to get up there. My brother lives up the road.
Hi Chris, awesome video. One of the my favourite places stunning countryside. Been a but behind watch vids got a bit of catching up to do. Have a great week see you on the next adventure 👍😊 ⛺

Looked a bit soggy but still a great place to spend a day. Thanks.
Top day out - cheers 👊👍
Nice chilled walk with Tom. The MSR looks pretty good. I always enjoy watching these walks. Nice one Chris & Tom 👌
Nice one Joe. Just dragging myself off the floor after that LFC / UTD result 😬😷
There is a good documentary about the Pendle Witch trials, definitely worth a watch. Shows how easily people are led, and sadly still are. Great vid, keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Will have a look for that. The history of the area is fascinating.
Brilliant to still get out and especially with your boy, I wish I could take mine to these kinds of places but we live in cambodia so it's too hot all the time. Maybe when I come visit home 😂. Keep on keeping on!
Cheers, would swap you some of that heat now! Time for sunnier days. ATB and thank you for making the effort to leave a comment 👍
Nice video 🙂👍
Cheers! Thank you 👍
Sometimes the local walks are the best walks, something I remembered during the tyranny of lockdown. Atb mate.
Absolutely, learned to enjoy the simple ones even more in that insane era - ATB
Nice spot for a brew👍🫡

Smashing little video Chris. Great scenery and weather not too bad. Pint looked good there too!!
Pint is always excellent there! Especially after a gnarly hike up and over Pendle Hill. Cheers pal

Mine sounded like it was going out, the more I opened the valve? But I lit it in the kitchen and no such issues - any ideas?
@@MCMOutdoors can’t say I’ve had that issue, mine usually fully opened all the time as I’m just boiling water.
Lovely video Chris, Tom is a credit to you. Making memories that will last a lifetime ❤.
He's a good lad - maturing well! Won't be long before he's on the old craft cans too 👌
Once again showing your qualities as a family man.
Great video
Top day out - simple, low cost - top memories and exercise. ATB
Feeling inspired, thank you. Fab video.

Great video Chris. Excellent content. I did comment a while back on the stubben video. Love that pack. 👍🏻
Probably my favourite pack and one I'll definitely pass down to either Tom or Emilie
Great video Chris. I've said before, i love your Pendle Hill adventures. I was camping there a couple of weeks back, came down Ogden Clough...what a route. Loved it. And MSR...say no more 👌 i use the windburner duo for two + more of us. Quality!
A top area 😁 first impressions of the stove good, not as fast as the Reactor but still nice. Thanks for watching
