2:21 the reason they’re battle line is because in lore Stormboyz are actually normally younger orks going through a “rebellious” phase of: listening to superiors, respecting ranks, doing complex tactics, and even doing unorky things of polishing helmets and boots and marching!
@chaos lord beard the D3 mortal wounds represent the commissar shooting some boyz to keep them in line. Like those hummies with the weird hats do. Works for hummies works for orks!
The actual thing it represents is the Kommander breaking heads on the ones that didn't do what they were told (keep in mind, what they're being ordered to do is terribly un-Orky. Aim your weapon? Don't yell WAAAGH! at the top of your lungs the moment you spot the enemy when trying to ambush them?, etc.). There's examples of this in the lore and in the books. I forget the name of the book but it's Orks vs Catachans and once a Kommando becomes a Nob and gets some new recruits, he straight up murders the ones that fail to learn how to be all sneaky like fast enough.
I honestly jumped outta my chair when I saw the New Detachment was Blood Axes! My very first Army was a Blood Axe army where I even came up with my own Warboss who I even comissioned art for and now I can finally bring him Back Propper!!!
While this is definitely a Blood Axe detachment, like most of the other detachments in the 10th Edition Ork Codex this one can be fielded as a lot of different klans. One can imagine shooty Bad Moons and Flash Gitz, sneaky Deathskull scavengers, or even Evil Suns stormboyz and warbikers loaded up with plenty of dakka using this detachment. Kudos to the GW design team.
Storm boys are battleline as its a throw back to 2nd edition and the bloodaxes. Stormboys were the bloodaxe unit that practised drills and used tactics. The other bloodaxe unit was the Kommandos but they were always a specialist unit. But just like all the other detachements people will only take battleline if they think there is a power game with them. Battleline is a nice idea but people dont take them which is a shame.
Stormboyz are cheap and great utility. Especially with pariah nexos rewarding battleline for actions and secret missions, taking 4-5 MSU units os quite reasonable Orks in general are a pretty battleline friendly army.
Dis is what many uv us missed in the codex, no detachment for kunnin’ and sneakin’, until now, finally!! 😍 makes perfect sense for stormboyz to be battleline as they’re a staple of any blood axes force and along with kommandos are one of the few units actually undergoing some organised training and deploying taktiks and strategy in battle. As for the D3 mortal wounds when issuing a taktik, it’s just a matter of sometimes needing to bash in a couple of heads if your troops don’t listen to ya!
Ghaz, 2 Meganobz, and a lone Mek in a Battlewagon. Battlewagon gets em in, they hop out, get up to 4 freaking orders, or get them spread around, then the Mek also buffs up the Battlewagon. That's my take so far.
Lmao that's gonna be patched real fast I'm sure. Can also add a Beastboss (even on Squiggosaur) to the unit, which is pretty silly too. Or a Megaboss, if you need an infiltrating Mega Armor
It's a very weird detachment, like Blood Axes with a side order of Flash Gitz (who would be more suited to a Bad Moon detachment surely?). But the more detachments the better!
The enhancement isn't just for Flash Gitz, they just had to make a special call out to them since typically nothing can lead them. Attaching SAGs to Tankbustas and giving thek the rerolls enhancement is as good maybe even better
Important note: the unit taking a leadership test is the character giving the taktics not the unit being ordered. Other than that, super stoked about having rules for my orks.

It's a Blood Axe detachment! Hell yeah! 😂

😂😂😂 Hahaha this made me laugh so hard I had to share with my brother who plays orks haha
I'm a fan of the orks being so dumb two things at once is too much
I just figured it was that the orks hurt themselves thinking about getting 2 orders at once

@slow_runner we're obviously all aware. That's why we enjoyed his comment lol

Did not expect a Blood Axe detachment, but thats cool ^^ .
the mortal wounds on the failed leadership test is defiantly the boss killing the boyz to get them to listen

WAAAA.. SHHshhhh... waaaaagghhh!
Honestly the highlight of this detachment for me is the ability to make Flash Gitz good. Love me some dakka boyz!
1:55 I wish that it added 1 to their ballistic skill so that way heavy weapons got (essentially) plus 2

Stormboyz are battleline because blood axes favor that unit in the fluff
They wasted an opportunity to call the "Gob Boomer" the "Shouty Box"
Keep in mind a Deffkilla Wartrike is a warboss. Slap him in a unit of Kommandos cause its funny.

Auto-advance 6 and use his big base to get stuck in 😂
Beastboss on Squigasaur sneaking on his T-rex alongside the kommandos is peak
Drinking game: every time Beard says "uppy-downy," drink.
This sounds like a sneaky SPEEDWAAAGH!!!
I'm so excited for this. None of the other Ork Detachments really spoke to me, this one just screams at me, with a Gob Boomer!

Flash Gits are Freebootas aren't they?

Dead sneaky and shooty!!
I'm probably going to stick to Bully Boyz, but this is an interesting Detachment.
Blood Axes, best axes!
Important note: the unit taking a leadership test is the character giving the taktics not the unit being ordered.
Other than that, super stoked about having rules for my orks.
But is there uppy downy?
Be good to ya muvva
Bikers get stealth? sounds like ork logic.
Can't see them if there's enough exhaust fumes in the way, right?
Can it be I'M THE FIRST HERE LET'S GOOOOOOOO
Waaaagh!!!!! Orks!
wwwwaaaaagggghhhhh
Fuck! No bad moons😢😢😢
I mean... just spam the Shoota Drills order and you have an Ork army hitting on 4s...
