I know! Back in the 80s my aunt and uncle had a place on the beach there and lived in CA, much different times then but it's gotten so bad over the years. It's sad people can't just enjoy their lives, but instead have to be wary of trash that will kill you for whatever they can take.

That message will carry her thru profound moments of grief, such a blessing at least for that .. I have a “last message” left from my partner before dying unexpectedly trapped in a fire.. just to hear his living voice and laugh provides so much comfort, still fills me with so much gratitude.. even, 7 years later. ❤️

I’m from California, and as a family of five, we did go to Tijuana a couple of times in the 60’s. Never again after our sweet neighbor and two church friends (men) who were executed on their way, and left naked, and the vehicle stripped of everything. They were driving clothing and shoes- food, etc. to give to a church, and never made it there. Do not go to Mexico.

I’m Mexican and it’s just horrible to live here. As soon as I had my daughter, I had to move out of the city into a small town in the Mexican peninsula. It’s beautiful and safe but I have to endure extreme weather conditions. It’s so sad we’re displaced from our own home due to violence. Always be safe when traveling in Mexico or just don’t do it at all. We’re living a nightmare in which missing and murdered people are a constant everyday 😢

And it’s not just the cartels. Our institutions are so corrupt and the crime situation is so out of hand that you can’t really trust anybody. It’s sad and I hate to say this, since Mexico is such a beautiful country, but it has turned into a horrible place to live in.
I was thinking why they did road-trip I’m like I’m from CA and the only way I think I’m coming there is thru plane direct to airport nearby hotels as well,

I do the same drive they did every year, have been broken down at night several times, and every time, locals have pulled over within ten minutes to offer a hand. Mexicans are some of the best people in the world. Truly salt of the earth.

I'm Mexican American and very proud of my culture but I'll be honest. I went to Ensenada 2 months ago and I'll be honest, I wasn't really at ease as soon as I crossed the border. It all takes the wrong person to make contact with you and it can be all over. Sad...that's why I'm proud to be an American 🇺🇸

If there's one thing I've learnt about Australian, s and South African people is that they are so Happy and very humble even the big guys . I was in my local pub last night and I got chatting to an Australian guy and I can't express how much he was a nice genuine person. I'm Ashamed to say that in England alot of people are so bloody miserable, Arragant, rude, and judge mental. if I had the chance I would definitely go and live abroad maybe Spain or Australia or even South Africa because my Country has lost itself for sure 😔

My Mexican cousins are merchants who live pass Ensenada, Baja California. They cross the Tijuana border twice a week in a beat up pickup truck to draw less attention. Even they risk their lives traveling on Hwy Mex 1. When they have to pay a passage fee to travel to the cartel they do it very willingly, with absolutely no resistance. When I was a little kid in the 80's-90's we'd travel Baja California day or night. Those were the days. Don't go to Mexico in remote areas like where these 3 gentlemen were found dead. Mexico is still a beautiful country but travel by airplane to Mexico, not in your fancy truck or car with American plates. Be safe.

I've spent about one month all together in Mexico camping and surfing around Ensenada. In that short time I was robbed at gun point, extorted by the police, had guns drawn on me two times other than the robbery and was thrown in jail. It's not safe there.
