As a Korean, I feel touched and happy that this masterpiece song was among the songs for 1988 Seoul Olympics. The lyrics and sounds really represent the minds and feelings of the athletes well. Also, this song is not only for the athletes, but for all the people who live their every day lives. And, I miss you Whitney Houston, the great musician. Rest in peace.

No Olympic song will EVER top this. They should just rerelease it with new footage from the next games (including the Winter Olympics) every other year.
i love his song!..its my favourite whitney-song. its epic. timeless. a masterpiec...i was 20 and a very ambitious pretty successfull upcoming young competitve when i heard this song first time...i was totally flashed. i felt that someone had taken a look into my soul.. what i feel, what i was hoping for and what i was dreaming about - and was working for so hard: to catch that one special moment- in which i m growing beyond what ever i thought i could reach and achieve...til today that song still touches me the same way it did that time...today i may say: i had some of these moments... and i still beliieve: its good to have big dreams .. and to work hard to make them come true. we re capable of much more as we think.
That's the best studio vocal ever recorded. Just listen to those last two "frees." They are staggering! That's vocal power that is full, resonant and sustained. Something not lost on me is the fact that the finish she puts on this vocal is the kind of strong finish that every world class athlete trains for. Vocally, Whitney sprints through the tape, with more left, she doesn't fall over the line. In her prime years from 85-94, she was a quadrillion miles ahead of all of the others that you care to name. There have been many great singers in the last half century. None could hold a candle to Whitney Houston.
That is what makes her story so tragic. She was blessed with this voice..... this God given gift. And she repeatedly made the worst choices.....which became addictions...which then became the demons that she succombed to. In her prime she breathtakingly beautiful with an incomparable voice. May she rest in peace.
If I could choose just one song to get featured as the official anthem for every single Olympic Games, this would be the one for sure. Just listen to the lyrics, the melody, it represents completely the spirit of all the athletes who give their 110% and even more... Man I miss Whitney so much 😭
Whitney Houston is quite simply the best there is. I have worked in the entertainment industry for quite some time, but I never, ever heard someone put so much power and feeling into their work. Hollywood could take a lesson..

"You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again. Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now." - Abraham Lincoln 😔 Best wishes Man. Hope you get better.
@911Truther69 The medicine is getting better when it comes to treatment-resistant depression. Don't lose hope. Psychedelics are rising, like ketamine, for the treatment of mental disorders.
It should be but unfortunately they would get a current artist to do a cover which would sound mediocre at best and everyone will be complaining about that and wish they just left the song alone 😂.
Every time I hear this song, I can't stop crying. It touches my heart and reveals my emotions. If one day you cry, it means you understood what she meant
Had me on tears as I reflect and think about my journey. This song is an inspiration to our struggles as we walk through our paths. "We may not be there yet but we're closer than we were yesterday." Soon, we'll have this sweet success we're all working for! ♥️
This song/video makes me tear up like a ninny. Whitney really deserved to be called "The Voice", as I can't imagine anyone in popular music coming close to her virtuosity in the near future. Her contemporaries didn't measure up. Even Mariah Carey, who has a lovely voice (when it's working), never matched Whitney's sheer power and passion. At her best, Whitney's performances were operatic-- she delivered a wallop to the senses, physically and emotionally, as the best operas do.
When I want to hear one of the most beautiful voices from one of the most beautiful souls ever, I listen to this song. Whitney still sings in paradise....
At the tender age of 5 my dad passed. This song came out a year later and it resonated with me so profoundly. I rewound the tape and played this song over and over!!! Now at age 40, it still has the same effect!!! Powerful words song by the greatest singer!!! I love u Whitney!!! I’m grateful to have been brought up in this moment in time!!! 💕💎
I mean not her entire vocal range Shed go up to sixth octaves But this song is much more difficult than overrated Mariah's emotions This song requires a full voice, dominant chest mix, power, vocal stamina and supported polyphonic belts as shown in MAKE IT SHIIIINE And insane vocal control especially when she belted hell out of FREE NOTE Most could be corrupted and go heady mix🤣😂
*Tears in my eyes the first song i've heard from Whitney Elizabeth Houston and still tears fill my eyes 30 years later.* 💗Love you always & forever sweet angel!💗
I haven't listened to this song in a while. It just popped into my head, and I decided to look it up. Throughout the song, the lyrics and performance were so moving, and I started to tear up. In the end, I was in tears. Such a moving and powerful performance. Whitney was a legend. May she continue to RIP.
OMG, me, too! Woke up this morning and the universe spoke to me. It said, the universe rewards those who are brave. And then later in the morning I was inspired to look up this song and listen again. It always got me emotional whenever I listened in the past, but it really struck me this time because I'm competing for the very first time in my life... at the age of 50.
.It's been 32 years since this was made for the 1988 Olympics held in South Korea. And you still get that feeling inside of you when you watch this video.
What resonates for me is: “one moment in time, when I’m all that I thought I could be.” ...”And in that one moment of time, I will be, I will be... I will be free!” I’m trying to do something right now.. to achieve a potential that I’ve always felt was in me but that I have lacked the courage to try for. I’m trying. And if God blesses me with that one moment, then, as the song says, I will be free.
Each day I live I want to be A day to give The best of me I'm only one But not alone My finest day Is yet unknown I broke my heart Fought every gain To taste the sweet I face the pain I rise and fall Yet through it all This much remains I want one moment in time When I'm more than I thought I could be When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away And the answers are all up to me Give me one moment in time When I'm racing with destiny Then in that one moment of time I will feel I will feel eternity I've lived to be The very best I want it all No time for less I've laid the plans Now lay the chance Here in my hands Give me one moment in time When I'm more than I thought I could be When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away And the answers are all up to me Give me one moment in time When I'm racing with destiny Then in that one moment of time I will feel I will feel eternity You're a winner for a lifetime If you seize that one moment in time Make it shine Give me one moment in time When I'm more than I thought I could be When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away And the answers are all up to me Give me one moment in time When I'm racing with destiny Then in that one moment of time I will be I will be I will be free I will be I will be free

Kpictures whitney made her choices, her ego got in her way and she chose drugs and that killed her. People need to understand you live and die by the choices YOU make. she made the wrong choice.
When I listen to her I realize that I miss her ever so much. She was one of a kind and her music will last forever. RIP Whitney and know that you are gone but not forgotten.
At 43 years old, I realize how powerful her songs are. Never listened to her growing up, never wanted to. But now, I can’t get enough. It’s funny how when you get older you actually stop and listen to songs and the words. Elvis, Whitney, Meatloaf, and Bowie are just a few I have discovered in recent years.
When listening to this song, I always think to myself: "You can't cry, you're a grown man!" And then the first tones sound, and tears well up in my eyes. But I'm not ashamed of it. R.I.P., Whitney, I send my regards to heaven, where you delight the angels with your beautiful song

i love his song!..its my favourite whitney-song. its epic. timeless. a masterpiec...i was 20 and a very ambitious pretty successfull upcoming young competitve when i heard this song first time...i was totally flashed. i felt that someone had taken a look into my soul.. what i feel, what i was hoping for and what i was dreaming about - and was working for so hard: to catch that one special moment- in which i m growing beyond what ever i thought i could reach and achieve...til today that song still touches me the same way it did that time...today i may say: i had some of these moments... and i still beliieve: its good to have big dreams .. and to work hard to make them come true. we re capable of much more as we think.

Hand in Hand is also good
Have you forgotten Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Caballé singing Barcelona?
Pure, pure idolatry

So true. Felt the same when I heard their duet ‘when you believe’. I prefer Whitney, richer & fuller singing tone.

Whitney has demonstrated her complete vocal range in this song. Very under-rated song.
Extremely hard song to sing and her voice was perfect.
I mean not her entire vocal range
Shed go up to sixth octaves
But this song is much more difficult than overrated Mariah's emotions
This song requires a full voice, dominant chest mix, power, vocal stamina and supported polyphonic belts as shown in MAKE IT SHIIIINE
And insane vocal control especially when she belted hell out of FREE NOTE
Most could be corrupted and go heady mix🤣😂

.It's been 32 years since this was made for the 1988 Olympics held in South Korea. And you still get that feeling inside of you when you watch this video.
Like you are still in the moment.
I know it makes you feel like you were there😍
The message in this song...it's what we all seek...a moment that is transcendent. A moment that will be remembered forever. It will make you free.
What resonates for me is: “one moment in time, when I’m all that I thought I could be.” ...”And in that one moment of time, I will be, I will be... I will be free!”
I’m trying to do something right now.. to achieve a potential that I’ve always felt was in me but that I have lacked the courage to try for. I’m trying. And if God blesses me with that one moment, then, as the song says, I will be free.
Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I'm only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown
I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains
I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
I've lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I've laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
You're a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time
Make it shine
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be
I will be
I will be free
I will be
I will be free

At 43 years old, I realize how powerful her songs are. Never listened to her growing up, never wanted to. But now, I can’t get enough.
