Hi po ask ko lang po kasi ang gusto ko lang po talaga ay filming, editing,directoring. Nagsearch po ako sa google may 5 core po ang masscom lahat po ba yon aaralin o pipili kalang sa lima kasi gusto ko po mag focus lang sa filming
Hey, I’m not really familiar with the five core that you’re referring, that probably applies to other schools. Although we have subjects related to filming, we also focus on other subjects relating to mass communication. But if you really want to study something that focuses on filming then I suggest enrolling to a school that has a film Major. Sorry for the late reply and hope this helps!☺️
I'm currently Grade 12 Stem student but I want to study mass comm to improve my communication skills and be on tv someday. But there is something pulling me back. I'm anxious about my life in college because I know it's going to be hard. How is my transition to adulthood? Or my job after I graduated. Please pray for me. Being anxious due to uncertainty is very common. I, myself, was and is still very anxious with college because of uncertainty, not to mention the school requirements but it’s great because it’s related to something I’m passionate about so basically there’s a silver lining to it. You can do this! Just strive hard, never hesitate to showcase your abilities and as cliché as it may sound, fear not of failures because it’s part of your journey, plus you’ll learn something from it. Hindi na po ako mag mass comm bawal po sa school na eenrolan ko wala silang bridging program kaya wala akong choice kundi kunin yung course na hindi ko gusto pero thanks for the reply and the encouragement you gave me. Although I cant reach my goal of becoming mass com student, I'll still do my best and try to be happy whatever course Im going to enroll. Because now Im lost and crying realising I cant take my dream course. Hindi ko alam kung anong mangyayari sa akin if I take other course or I would enjoy it. I hope whatever happens I still be able to apply for a job that could make me happy in the future. Thanks for replying
I really couldn’t say which one is better since I just bought a MacBook and classes haven’t started yet but to answer your question, as long as you have enough storage especially when it comes to video editing activities, then you’re good and I think 256gb is good, it’s what I have right now. Hello and sorry for the late reply. You mean to ask whether or not the activities for mass communication are difficult? I would say that it would really depend on the person but in my experience, I would say that it’s actually doable and something that I would find interest in, especially during my first year and we had a lot of broadcasting activities. For my second year, I was able to face new activities that the course has to offer which challenged me and it’s very interesting because I got to experience a touch of the many possible field of work the course has to offer and I even got to publish an article in our local newspaper. Now that I’m a third year student, I could say that some of the subjects were more in demand but it’s still doable. Just remember to have fun, ask for help once in a while and know that everything that you will face in the course will pave way for your success in the future. Hope this helps!
Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t notice this. Before ko ni enroll, ang mga na hear gyud nako nga nindot nga school for mass communication are STC, USJR & UP. Pero I’d advice you lang to explore or research more about the universities para maka compare ka and maka decide which institution would suit you better.
Sorry I wasn’t able to notice this comment before. Actually I was an ABM student when I was in senior high and I thought it might affect a bit with the course but it didn’t. It would be much better for you to look up online about the two courses that you have in mind so you’d have a greater perspective about the two and if you’re a fan of communication based activities, writing news stories, filming and a whole lot more then go for mass communication. We have several minor subjects which are taken in other courses as well such as Philippine history, mathematics and more. For our major subjects, we tackled on introduction to communication; communication, culture and society as well as radio production. I’m a first year student by the way, if you’re wondering😊

I would have to say no because the first year mostly consists of minor subjects and few of the major subjects. Also, you’ll be guided by your professors in subjects you fin difficulty in. By the way, I came from a strand not related to mass comm so you’ll be good ra😊
Di gyud baya malikayan nga patabion gyud basta mass comm student😬 pero don’t worry lang kay I’m sure that during the activities that requires you to speak kay slowly ma improve imo confidence and how comfortable you are speaking because of the lessons you learn and gain not only from your teachers but your classmates as well. Take note that both your teachers and classmates will of course help you and they won’t judge you man sad. Hope this helps☺️
