Been there done that. Logging is an inherently dangerous profession, and those of us that do or have done this know the risks. The commenters here that fashion themselves to be "safety police" have no clue about the industry.

Those same people are the one's to call OSHA after getting fired for being a shitbag and screwing everyone around them over. With out you loggers my woodshop has no lumber to make custom knives, steak box sets, chess boards, tables with built in cribbage board's etc.. all mads from Bubinga, Honduran, Coco Bolo, zebra so forth. Logging is one tough job, much love.

Great video. Why can't people just enjoy the video and appreciate the job and effort of this crew without chiming in with a negative opinion. I've logged in rough mountains and rock cliffs for the past 30 years. Don't give me advice on how You would do it but rather buy you some equipment and do it however you want and stop being a keyboard warrior

I drove for Addleman log in Forks Wa., and we had long loggers and a designated truck and pup which was a super long wheelbase cabover setting on the biggest detroit you ever want to here run. I don't remember for positive but I think/pretty sure v12 engine and it was everything that you could do with one detroit engine as fuel and gears cause he never cut any of us short for power or nice. Fresh from the rubber up to the tops of the stacks all any truck driver wanted including creature comforts. Now he didn't want tickets ut he wanted logs in town so hurry if you can and if you didn't get many, he paid the tickets. They hid out and one by one got us and I was thinking pretty sneaky but when they caught me they jacked up every corner on me to find what was wrong and all they got me for was one slack adjuster would take one more click but truth known, I ran my brakes at different settings cause of the hills and the last thing I wanted was a hot brake but I had a feeling and we loaded that load with "balsa wood" or it seemed like it. They had their tape measures out all over the place looking and so they had me three inches over height and I contested it and took his picture... He asked me why and I said just meet me in court and so they set there all comfortable and I stepped up to the judge and told him that fair was fair and he got me for being over even though I was light in weight it looked heavy and the judge looked at the first picture and agreed that it looked heavy but agreed that the scales don't lie... and when he measured me up for hight, he put the tape on a rock under my truck was where the end of the tape was at... That dot guy blows up and called tricks, I wouldn't do that!!!! So the judge is looking at the picture real close and I pulled all the tickets out he had wrote our drivers and then told the judge... he never wrote one ticket to anyone else but us at our job. All that month is just us.. now who do you believe!! The judge dismissed my ticket and the dot guy is still screaming.... I said judge, the rest of the guys want their tickets dismissed and I'll be.. he did it and they suspended that guy. Ya, I had nice clothes and polished shoes but when I got back to the shop, my boss split the money he got back for tickets and told me my tickets will never come out of my pocket. They finally left us alone. I was scared of that cab over and the pup set up. I just can't get it right when your going down the road it is a optical illusion and you look at your knee and the white line and when you get out and look you will be within the limits of being right on. I always had the steer tire in the ditch but as long as there was a nose on the cab, I could do it perfect. I guess as long as the tongue on the first trailer hooked to the truck was long enough then the pup on your setup would track in your tracks. You must not need a lot of air as that is a lot for one compressor to keep up with but it sure looks nice!!! I'm 72 now and miss driving so much even if we do have more cars on the road

Big, but not huge. Huge is a one log load. Logged some old growth cedar on Mt. Pilchuck in the 70's. One log loads. And some of them we had to split on the landing with the loader to get the small enough to load on the truck. And lots of 2 and 3 log loads went from that job.

In the late 50s and early 60s we were hauling out Cedar logs that were huge. One tree would require 3-4 trucks with one log segment per truck. 6' to 8' plus logs were common then. Still, this is good stuff to see still being logged.
