The best ending is When Anderson says He's proud of Shepard and you destroy the reapers with all war assets. That way Shepard survives and they have that scene at the end commemorating the fallen.
What hurts me, are the Geth and EDI are destroyed along as well, especially when I had the Geth make peace with Legion’s sacrifice and having EDI and Joker find happiness together.
19:26 the most intense moment I ever experienced in video gaming, those flashback (joker, Anderson, and liara) tormented me for months, they gave me deep depression, because an era was ended, our hero sacrificed everything, and the end unfortunately had come. Long live this saga. This give me sadness even after 4 years... liara... Shepard. .. doctor ... I still miss u all
Shepard: OK, i have control of everything syntetic. Why not destroy all the mass relays so noone can travel fast and get centuries to travel from planet to planet. MUAHAHAHA i'm so clever. Catalyst: But Shepard, all organics on earth will die if they can not travel through space fast. why are you doing this? Shepard: Because fuck you that's why. Catalyst: That is illogical. Shepard: OK, whatever, i'll use reapers to fix relays. Catalyst: Why destroy and fix if you can just let them stay? That's illogical too! Shepard: Who's controlling all the syntetics, bitch? Catalyst: You, but... Shepard: Shut up and let me have fun. I've been through a lot to get here. Catalyst: Like what? Kissing turians and having fun with asari? You have to keep.... Shepard: Boooring [deletes the Catalyst] OK, what now? Oh, i know! I will make the Geth colorful and they will make cute sounds! Perfect!
TheSchwiz I played through the trilogy again to celebrate that ME2 and ME3 bacame backwards compatible on the xbone. After the credits of ME3, I just sat there in awe. I was just staring at the title screen, wondering how the hell someone can write a story such as this. It's beyond incredible!
Played through the trilogy in 20 days. And i have to say its the best goddamn game i have ever played. Bioware created a masterpiece and its just sad all these fans are bashing them because they didnt get the ending where everyone walks into sunset holding hands and dancing in daffodils. That goosebump and shiver u feel running down your spine as the final cutscene rolls down makes all that 100-120 hrs of gaming so worthwhile.
shashank you are not very intelligent. The finals are full of incongruities and these last 10 minutes make water on all sides. Do you know what Bioware said? "We do not want to explain, players can interpret it in their own way". In short, they made colossal mistakes and washed their hands.
Great ending to a great trilogy. The trilogy had you invested emotionally into every character, it’s so difficult for a game to do that. When shepherd gave his life and you could see the people in his life that he cared about and you cared about it made me shed a tear and at the end of it knew I played a legend of a game
@@AntiSocialismo50 1. No final boss fight. 2. The final Earth mission had nothing interesting going for it, just fighting husks in ruins. Compare it to the final mission in ME2 and ME1. 3. You don't get to see the forces you assembled. 99% of the people fighting are humans, with a few turians and asari sprinkled in cutscenes. 4. You only interact with your other squadmates on holograms. 5. The ending was contradicting half the plot and lore from previous games (e.g. Sovereign and Harbinger went from being independent characters to puppets on the strings of the Catalyst) 6. You get choices that contradict everything you've done before (you can oppose Control for the entire game and then chose it anyway) 7. Synthesis ending comes out of nowhere, makes no sense, isn't explained, and is horrible since you transform everyone against their consent. 8. The only ending that makes narrative sense is Destroy, but in order to make sure that 99% of players don't chose that ending automatically the writers put in b*llsh*t drawbacks, like Geth and EDI dying for BS reasons. 9. No matter how much work you put in you don't get a good ending for Shepard. It's better to not have a romantic partner at all since they won't be reunited with Shepard. 10. Starbrat is obnoxious, an idiot, and you can't argue with it.
That was the ending everyone hated? Wtf it wasn't that bad, sure it wasn't good like the hero saves the princess from the dragon guarded tower they get married and live happily ever after nor emotional like Titanic's ending but what the hell it wasn't something gamers should make a big deal out of, why the fuck where they trying change this ending?
mohamud60 Are you serious? This ending just sucks... Luckily I played the game with all DLCs and the Extended Ending. I also imported ME1 to ME2 and ME2 to ME3... Think about it? Would you play a trilogy to see that crap without any worth explanation? It's just give u the feeling that don't worth the effort to play the entire sequel.. What a mess.... If u are the creator... u surely don't want stimulate that feeling in your work.
V Deimos ok my bad never played Mass Effect before but from what people been saying I thought it was an ending where the Shepard dies and Reapers wipe out most of alien races on earth and just deactivate due to Shepards sacrifice
"If someone told me 3 years ago that this was where my life was headed, I would have ordered a double of what they were drinking, drunk it, then blown my head off." - Max Payne Shepard.
You know what I think would have been cool to have in the ending. As you walk down the path, before you choose one of the endings, you start to hear dialoge from all three games. Depending on the choices you've made in all three games you will hear the paragon, or renegade dialoges about Shepard. It was just a thought that came to me, what do you think?
I can't bring myself to finish any more ME3 playthroughs. I always get too attached to my characters and get upset for a while after I beat it. I know its just a game, but still. And in my opinion, shooting star child in his c*nt face is the best option. Green turns you into mashed potatoes, blue make everything you stand for null and void, and red dooms all of the quarians and turians in th esystem to death because the relays are destroyed and they have no dextro food. Screw this ending.
Just completed ME3 tonight and stayed away from all spoilers because a lot of sites said it was really bad. Don't know what all the hate is for, perfectly good ending to the best trilogy ever made.
+Randy Avila yeah, i did watch The "old" endings after i finished the game and i realized why a lot of people got really upset at the time! BioWare really fucked up... i'm looking forward to Andromeda, though! :)
Not sure how I see they compare to each other. ME3 is a Action RPG. No Man's Sky is a Survival/Exploration Action Adventure with RPG elements, Plus it's open world. Both great game's either way. No Many's sky will be better one they add new stuff such as base building and things.
Peter A it was meant as a joke. People consider the me3 ending to be bad, but the nms one is even worse. (it's really anticlimatic and you basically start over again)
Mass Effect 1 & 2 made me fall in love with the series, and were the third and fourth game that genuinely made me feel like part of the game, like I made a difference. All the time spent working with each crew member, all the time spent working against the Reapers, uniting the races to finally stop the Reapers for good. And then Mass Effect 3.. Game decisions make no difference, all end the same...
exactly why I chose the control ending. it's proven through the series that to be alive is not about being organic rather than synthetic. people would normally view synthetic life as being... somehow fake. But this is not true. Anything with agency is a living thing. To wipe out the life of others for the sake of your own self-interest... I couldn't do that.
I dont understand why people say that the one where shepard lives is the good one. In this video it shows him "dying" but then he goes on to protect everything as what ever he is now, thats what he says in the cut scene. How isnt this the best ending?
In the "control" ending Shepard dies and takes control of the reapers, going against everything that was set to be the final goal since the original mass effect. Sure its the only ending where the Citadel doesn't explode and the relays might have actually survived, but it really seems hard to believe that Shepard would have continuous control over the reapers if he dies. In which case there is nothing to stop them from coming back later after having left.
After i was done talking to the catalyst boy, i wasn't paying attention and i suicide jumped into the beam. i quickly alt tabbed out of the game and restarted that mission from beginning because i didn't wan tthat choice (keep in mind i've never seen the ending at that point, and i originally thought that the whole new DNA thing by jumping into the crucible beam would turn everyone into husks because thats what it sounded like when the catalyst was describing it). Then when i got back to the 3 choices part, i was walking towards the Destroy option which in my mind felt like the right thing to do. so instead of making it all the way to the panel i realized i could shoot and i just started firing. i turned around and i was like "oh, why not shoot at the stupid kid" so when i did i triggered a 4th option. let everyone die. i was like wtf. alt tabbed out and restarted the game. then i finally picked the destroy ending which ended with everyone alive except the geth, which could be recreated, possibly the same as before death, and death of EDI which did bum me out but she could be recreated again no? What made me even more happy is that Shepard lived in this ending. So overall i was very satisfied. Oh and this was with the Extended cut installed. just sad that the geth i saved got obliterated and EDI..... she was my love muffin..... that was a joke. Sick trilogy though. loved it
So you'de rather see the Normandy die, which then kill EDI? You'de like to see the Reapers go away forever, not even try to rebuild what they broke? Get the Extended Cut DLC and then do the Synthisis ending... THATS the perfect ending, EDI lives, everyone lives exept those who died in the war + Commander Shepard... And the Reapers become allies to the Galaxy. So therefore thats the PERFECT ENDING!
All CURRENT synthetic life is destroyed - there's nothing to stop it being rebuilt immediately. Think about this for a minute. EDI exists as the AI inside the normandy more than she does the body she gained in 3. The geth are literally software that can be installed into anything. Their bodies are destroyed, but it would be a small feat to give them those back after all is said and done. Though, that said, having looked them all over again, i'd say Control is the best ending. The lowest death count, and the reapers are forced to rebuild what they broke, the only real downside is losing shepard.
Colm O'Mahony But is it? If you look closely at the story, Synthesis is exactly what Saren wanted, and control is exactly what the illusive man was after. But you can't control what already control's you. Also the whole way through the series Shepherd has always voted for destroy, no compromise can be made with creatures such as the reapers and so it should be, another thing you have to remember is that the ghost kid/star child who tells you what each choice will do is entirely unreliable. The way he talks he sounds like he's speaking for the reapers and we already know exactly what they want and how it completely differs from what we want, as a result he's most likely completely and utterly lying about destroy destroying all synthetic life in the galaxy.
Just completed the trilogy. I will never experience this for the first time again. It's a real shame that no matter how many times I play the trilogy, I will never get that same excited feeling again. Goodbye mass effect, until the legendary edition.
+Master Toad so you only have 2 choices without the DLC? you can only use control (blue) or destroy (red)? what DLC do you have to download to get the synth (green) ending?
It's unfortunate that things are undone so quickly. Most of the last 30 minutes are spectacular. The charge to the transporter is incredibly intense, the scene with the Illusive Man stirring and the following one with Anderson is incredibly touching. After that it's newly introduced and instantly resolved conflicts, an undoing of the game's central messages and themes, and plot holes you can pilot the Normandy through. Lack of clarity is the biggest issue, perhaps the DLC will help that.
Because it’s the right thing. Shepard’s aim wasn’t to simply survive but to do whatever he can for the the good of the universe....even dying. Shepard saved all of humanity and that’s what matters to him.
fun fact : control was a paragon cause its blue color while destroy is renegade cause it's red BUT they mix it up the illusive man is renegade while Anderson is paragon SO in the visions it show illusive man choosing control even though he's renegade while Anderson chooses destroy which is renegade even though Anderson is paragon
@My Dude Necro, but fuck it! I'll respond to this! Without getting overly complicated, in Mass Effect 1 we see how the fight with Sovereign goes down. Sovereign is able to hold its own against two entire fleets -- UNTIL IT GETS FRIED AND ITS SHIELDS GO DOWN. Then all it takes is for the Normandy to punch a hole right through it. So, since then, we've known that Reapers have a a vulnerable state. The Crucible should have been a giant fucking "EMP" that specifically targets Reaper systems. Instead of letting you talk to God and decide the fate of the Galaxy, it should have fried the Reapers like Sovereign for MAYBE five minutes. Then, it's up to the Fleet you've gathered to kill as many of the motherfuckers as they can. It doesn't ensure the death of all Reapers, but it could potentially turn this into a fair fight -- or it could even put them on the run. And if you rush to the end without building a serious fleet? You do damage, but it isn't enough. The civilized races have to keep living on the run, but the Reapers know now that they CAN be hurt, so they're more cautious about our extermination, and the two sides are both looking for a way to best the other. It makes the endings open ended and based on your choices throughout. You don't just get to write the ending at the finish line. Humanity doesn't just flip some switch and end the apocalypse, it turns the tide of a war that could potentially go on for years -- but you have to trust your allies and the world you've left behind to keep fighting. If we wanna get real technical though, the original planned ending had to do with the destabilization of the space time continuom as a result of the misuse of element zero through the history of the galaxy, and the Reapers trying to cultivate the perfect biotic race to repair it because it's the only thing that makes them fear for their immortality. But the guy who took over the writing for Mass Effect 3 didn't have the talent /or/ time to pull off anything above what they managed to deliver, so we got what we got.
What if this reallly happen? I mean not the same story but the idea in it. I mean the earth is 4 billion years old. What if the game creators found warning and made a story about it? Something could have happened before... Or maybe i played too much mass effect.
MsNacho98 Many stuff that happens in the triology is kind of cientifically correct. I truly believe that this could be sort of real. (You might think I'm nuts though...)
The Earth is, in fact, 4.7 billion years old. This has been proven through radio-isotope dating many, many times. Please, please tell me you're just someone who's slightly misinformed, and not a psycho uber-Christian who believes the Earth is seven thousand years old because of the book of Genesis.
That's the Bad ending...If you Notice Shepards eyes start to become indoctrinated victims eyes(like Illiusive man's)Same as the Synthesis But Destroy Ending is the good Ending-Frees Shepard from Trying to indoctrinate because the same effect that you end the dream sequence is the same flash effect as you see after you get hit on Harbinger
oh sure.you know the bad thing? the child is a REAPER...proof? easy-pick destroy he gets mad, pick synthesis or control he gets happy-It's really easy to tell.also by saying that the people(turians, humans etc.)will create more synthetics is a lie,i don't see the point-they stopped creating at mass effect 3 and why would they start creating in the future mass effect? maybe you should think before writing a months old comment
learn a lesson-don't reply to old comments because your making a ''complaint''so why don't you just shut up and do something else with your life-your complaining on a game so good job 5 year old kid
MrFullhp Sorry guy, that kid's not A reaper, he's ALL the reapers. He's the intelligence that the Leviathans created, the same one that turned on his creators and reaperized them. He's their collective intelligence, he refers to the reapers using "we" and "us", and the reason why he appears as a kid is because like the Leviathans, he has partial access to your mind. Unlike them however, he's trying to play on your emotions to affect your final choice. He wants you to choose anything but Destroy because, in his case its a life or death scenario as Destroy will kill him and his reapers. HOWEVER, these are the reapers we're dealing with, who are as bad and deceitful as everyone says they are so its hard to be sympathetic. Cue the image of the boy.
MrFullhp dude...you seriously consider ANY ORGANIC BEING wanting to COOPERATE with a fucking Synthetic one? Synthetics are created to outlive their creators and make them their slaves,THAT is why organic's don't want that
Just finished the game a few days ago. I was new to the series and played all of them through from ME1 to ME3 in one go. I have heard a LOT about the ME3 ending, that it was terrible. I got this ending, when I played and I thought it was pretty good. Sort of bitter sweet. Hero sacrifices all, to save everyone. It was very sad and touching. Afterwards I have searched a bit about the other endings and the grievances related to them. And I can totally understand all the hate against it. The "different endings", or lack of them, that no matter what you do, the ending will be pretty much the same. Not to mention the plot holes, that comes as the "god child" appears and with the ending cinematic. Which I didn't thought about at all when I played the game, thou I was a bit confused. All and all, I still think the game was amazing and I enjoyed every second of it and this ending in question was acceptable. But what I have seen and heard about the....other endings....when I play ME3 the second time, I don't see any reason to make any other choices. I will most certainly, always make the same choices, that leads to this.
Trialmaster1123 Nah. All Geth die EDI die and synthetic and organic war will happen a few years later. And as said by catalyst, in the far future, another race will create an AI that will create Reapers again, resuming the cycle.
smurfcatsLollies The Geth CAN be rebuilt by the Quarians, but I doubt they will have peace that long. Also, Geth memories before their death are irreplaceable, that is the consequence of the destroy ending, utter destruction of AI including their data/memories/etc...
To all who think that "Control" is the good ending, you're wrong. "Destroy" is the good ending. By chosing distroy you set your self free from reaper indoctronation (You'll only be alive at the end if you get at least 5000 Effective Military Strengh). If you have doubts go check the "Indoctronation Theory". The trees that appear on shepard's dreams are the same after he gets hit by the reaper. when he awakes. He also moves slow in his dreams, like on the last mission. And don't you thinks it's weird that only a maurader is guarding the entrance to the citadel, that the reaper leaves the area knowing that someone is still alive? Shepard's dreams are a way for his subconcious to tell him he is getting indoctronated. The shadows in the dreams you see are reapers. on previous mass effects there is somewhere a report from someone that says that reapers appear to that same person as shadows of people (or something like this). If you have your effective military strengh over 5000, you, by chosing the "Distroy" option, will see in the end Shepard waking barely alive on Earth. The wreckage is not from The Catalyst (which wold be like high teck metal) but you see wreckage of Earth buildings and in the background you see the beam that lets you in the Catalyst. You should all consider siriously the "Indoctronation Theory".
Man I've played this game as a child (8 y/o, we didn't care about gore lol). And lemme tell you, this game is so amazing. The cutscenes have a lot of emotion to them, I love any plot where there is something about an energy hole or something like that where you have limited time to escape/disable it/kill the controller.
This is a bad ending, the only good ending is destroying the reapers, controlling makes Shepard an AI God, remember I robot.... synthesis disregards everyone's beliefs and forces everyone into a hive mind, wherein all minds would be United (all those bad thoughts you have would be known) and a giant war would break out, also, what hierarchy would exist if such a thing worked? Everyone would have all knowledge. People would not join hands and sing kumbaya. But this is a sci fi series, and the ending was written. It isn't based on reality. The reapers slaughtered countless civilizations and get away with it. Single living prothean would feel betrayed and kill himself.
I totally agree with you. I heard about shitty ending of ME3, so I played it when all DLC were released. I chose the control option because in my opinion it will end war between organics and synthetics. I sacreficed myself to bring peace to whole galaxy and when I saw my ending I couldn't stop crying. It was stronger than me. I haven't seen previous ending, but I have to say that final ending is more than satisfying.
The choice of colors from the Reapers' POV is kinda valid, but you forget that everybody survives when you choose synthesis or control, and both also end the cycle of destruction. The fact that most pro-destroy forget is the crucible has altered the Catalyst's main program, giving it new options it didn't think about. Plus Reapers are like the Geths, they don't think in terms of good & evil, they act to survive and evolve. The war between Geths and Quarians echo with the child's statements.
At least someone agrees with me that Control may have been the best ending. Here's my thoughts on all 4 endings Control:the reapers basically help repair things and then the alliance can use them as security for earth and other planets, etc. Destroy:I'm honestly more of a pacifist when possible in ME , 2, and 3 and also it's a waste of tech(the reapers themselves) Synthesis:nah too weird for me Fuck You Ending(very bad ending):well now everyone is dead soooo great.
Some conclusions says: Control = Illusive man's goal = Indocrinated Synthesis = Reapers true goal = Indocrinated Destroy = Perfect Ending = Shepard lives. (Huh?? WTF !?) 1 The problem is, i don't believe Developers ever confirmed that indocrination hypothesis... So... Nop. 2 Shepard lives??? WTF? No sense... He takes an explosion on his face!! And even falls on Earth... But... Developers. 3 If You Were Paragon All The Time, what's the sense in killing EDI and the Geths???? They can't be "Rebuild". 4 If you followed up with something like ignoring the synthetics then OK! Destroy the reapers. But... in the end of the day = D E V E L O P E R S.
I am actually really glad that Bioware started completely new with Mass Effect Andromeda, so we don't have to deal with that Reaper/A.I Kid/Leviathan/Indoctrination bullshit.
I know that controlling the reaper is a good ideas but still it like humanity lose... Dat y I chose the red one so that all the avengers (all alliance race) win. Also because i trust my generation can kick the reaper ass in the future not controlling them. It also for ppl who lost their love one so they get their revenge.
I'm just slightly confused. I got this ending but at the bit where Joker opens the crashed Normandy's door, when he did that the screen went black with like a thud and then it showed the scene with the old man telling the boy the stories about Shepard.
Among the four available endings it is impossible to determine which is the best. The only certain thing is what the true function of the Crucible was, that is the synthesis between organic and synthetic life. The Destruction consists in shooting at a part of the Crucible and this does not make sense, because thinking that a device resulting from an advanced alien technology works by shooting at it is like thinking that a sophisticated supercomputer starts up by hammering it. The Control is a partially correct use of the Crucible, because only the thoughts and memories of the user are exploited, but the molecular structure of the user remains unused. In short, the correct functioning of the Crucible consists in exploiting both the mental and molecular essence of the user.
So basically the reapers were the creations a once super Intelligent race but the reapers became sentient and rebelled against their creators. They found that creating this cycle was need to maintain balance in the universe. If the reapers were killed the cycle would stop but eventually a super advanced race could recreate the same thing. But as Shepard said..only maybe.
Bioware made it to where the endings don't count on the Paragon/Renegade options, unlike what ME1 did... Endings are determined by Effective Military Strength (EMS). You check your EMS by going to the control panel on the Normany next to the small virtual model of the Crucible and seeing your stats. You get more EMS by either completing every side mission for more War Assets or increasing your Galactic Military Readiness in Multiplayer. You need to do all that for the good ending.
. In the left speaker the Catalyst has the voice of a Jennifer Hale (Female Shepard), and in the right speaker you can hear the voice of Mark Meer (Male Shepard). The child voice is played in both.
EMS is your effective millitary strength which you build up before the final battle on earth. To see or find it, go past the checkpoint in the Normandy and use the table where you can see all your allies. It will then show your millitary strength, effective millitary strength and your chances of success. It will even show how many EMS points you have. If you have a high EMS, it will show a green bar, while on the contrary, it will show a grey-blueish bar. If you have a low EMS, you get a bad end
It's less that I want a happy ending and more I want an ending that makes sense as far as storytelling is concerned. The extended cut was an improvement, but left a lot more to be desired. but I understand where Bioware came from as far as improving the ending, so I'm not demanding they make a new one. A main element in ME was being able to choose your own destiny, or rather Shepard's. So I did. I'm sure a lot of us have our own suitable endings in our imaginations, be they happy or sad.
Let's be honest the endings were absolutely heart breaking for all mass effect fans, but I bet now not one mass effect fan will forget how this game ended. It's probably gonna eat at us for a while & that's exactly what bioware wants
The planet at 22:35 is vulcan, where Shepard has been in mass effect 2. This suggests that it was only a dream created by Shepard's mind from his existing memories
"So what happens to the Catalyst? Who gets him?" "No one, he lives after the Shepard makes the choice." "What, so he wins? Jesus, Grandpa, what did you tell me this story for anyway?"
This looks more like an ending where Shepard gets indoctrinated. He gives just the right answers that suggest he's open to control but simply thinks the Illusive man shouldn't be the one to do it. Not to mention his will is so weak in this ending that he can't save Anderson, mustering only enough resolve to shoot the illusive man (whom he hasn't trusted since at least from the beginning of this game). He then breaks down when faced with the three choices and submits to the will of the catalyst (and by extension the reapers) by picking one of the options the catalyst favours, which is for Shepard to pick control. The will of the reapers is then duly satisfied and the reapers are victorious. Shepard is clearly not himself and thinks like a reaper. He's certainly removed from humanity or any race with feeling.
+Genlogic You can disagree with the catalyst in the extended cut but you still have the ability to give the answers that you see in this video. I was simply pointing out that this ending makes Shepherd look indoctrinated. Also the control ending definitely suits the interests of the catalyst because as I said before Shepherd essentially becomes a reaper. This means the reapers are still as free and autonomous as they were before, which means they could continue to harvest the races of the galaxy if they wanted.
Vincent Hitchin this isn't even the best ending though the guy who uploaded this was wrong . the best ending is over 3000 or 5000 mas and choose destroy ending
Gay Z I agree with you. Destroy with maximum ems is the ideal ending. But still I think this ending is interesting in the sense that you can look at it as the opposite of what destroy represents, which is resisting reaper control and trickery and saving the freedom and independence of all the races of the galaxy. Control by contrast, ironically represents submission.
Vincent Hitchin actually I feel like synthesis would represent submission more, and control and destroy would both represent refusal, but reapers aren't even organic life, they are galactic cleaners that just take away futures and in way too much power, so because it is that, I feel it doesn't matter if you control but rather to just end them all.
Gay Z I guess synthesis would represent submission more. Especially since Bioware has distanced itself from indoctrination theory. But I sort of like to imagine there's still some truth to it. So because of that I like to think both control and synthesis both represent submission even if in reality none of them do.
I think the best and the original ending is when Shepard chooses red explosion which destroys reapers and all synthetics. First and foremost Shepard survives in the end. Second all crew and supposedly Normandy AI also survive barely outrunning the explosion. This ending gives best scenario for developers since the main transportation( mass effect gates) destroyed completely eliminating reapers from following story line and all species getting separated creating wars and conflicts between Assari Krogans and others. I bet for 1 bill dollar that Krogan will do their best against Salarians no way they wouldn't. Another reason for this ending to be original is because no Shepard will be in new trilogy means that they going to make the beginning completely fixed unlike ME2 and ME3. However if we all remember ME1 didn't have flexible beginning either so i think red non lethal explosion is a real a ending with variation of dead crew members. And although Shepard wont appear in ME4 he can be reappear as side/secret character in ME5 unless ME4 will start like 300 years later.
actually the extended cut disapproved of some theories and added extra ones! remember in the extended cut when harbinger says ''serve us'', that's just another one that supports the indoctrination theory.
Has anybody played endless summer? Is it me or does the destroy ending remind you of it? Yeah your main character is alive and they achieved the objective, but truthfully, was it the right decision? This will only occur in 50,000 more years again. They’re just happy due to their lives in this cycle, surviving. I can never truly decide, one way or the other. I personally think none of them are the right choices
8 years late but, wow, I actually understand what the kid was saying when he was explaining the reapers. It's actually pretty good, I like this ending.
Notice How The Central Chamber Resembles The Ilusive Man Office From When You Go Up The Ramp And The Circle In The Middle And The Outside View. Then When You First Arrive It's Like The Collector Base With The Dead Bodies And Then The Shapes And Figures And Electric Charges And Sounds From The Shadow Broker Base. It's The Reapers Using Shepards Past Memories To Configure And Minaliate. Then When You Talk To The Child The Building Structures Have Numbers Like The Alliamce Put On There Stuff.
I would have been fine with the ending if Shepard would have turn to the camera and said
"We'll bang,ok?"
The best ending is When Anderson says He's proud of Shepard and you destroy the reapers with all war assets. That way Shepard survives and they have that scene at the end commemorating the fallen.
Thats ridiculous. Happy ending
Yeah, and say goodbye to the mass relay, to all the technology, millions of aliens will die in earth and it will took generations to rebuild earth

Shepard: Boooring [deletes the Catalyst]
OK, what now? Oh, i know! I will make the Geth colorful and they will make cute sounds! Perfect!
He doesn't control all synthetics. Just the Reapers, who are synthetic/organic hybrids.
a weapon to surpass metal gear
Who would win tho, REX or HARBINGER
Funny thing is, this ending is AMAZING until God Child appears.
If it ended with Sheppard slamming that button and dying, no one would have complained.
ME: The best video game series ever created. and honestly, better than most movies/TV shows. So EPIC!
"best ever"
haha no
The best game of past generation..... I love this game
shashank you are not very intelligent.
It's a shit ending bruh
@@Ibrahim-wr5fs why
@@AntiSocialismo50
Sovereign and Harbinger went from being independent characters to puppets on the strings of the Catalyst)
6. You get choices that contradict everything you've done before (you can oppose Control for the entire game and then chose it anyway)
The best ending is when you decide not to finish the game at all.
genius
TheLastBabyMan i actually liked the ending
"If someone told me 3 years ago that this was where my life was headed, I would have ordered a double of what they were drinking, drunk it, then blown my head off." - Max Payne Shepard.
I love it xD
I love this game and it's ending. I struggle to cry at anything, but this sure did it
So the good ending is that joker, liara, and Garrus are stuck on an unknown planet?
on mine, it actually showed the normandy taking flight again lol
@@SociallyAwkwardGirl_OG Because this Video is the Ending without the Extended Cut

No but the majority hated this BS ending
I loved the ending-it was true to the series
In some ways.
OK, he was clearly joking, it was in no way true to the series with its A,B,C type of ending
This man speaks the truth!
Quarians are not synthetic, the red one destroys only synthetic life like Geths and the reapers

finished the game today and i did the same as you... and i liked the ending too :p
The endings were updated after everybody complained of the original endings. This was one of the brand new, better endings.
+Randy Avila yeah, i did watch The "old" endings after i finished the game and i realized why a lot of people got really upset at the time! BioWare really fucked up...
i'm looking forward to Andromeda, though! :)

How to fix the ending: roll credits after "The best seats in the house" line.
I loved this game (endings included).
still better than no man's sky
Not sure how I see they compare to each other. ME3 is a Action RPG. No Man's Sky is a Survival/Exploration Action Adventure with RPG elements, Plus it's open world. Both great game's either way. No Many's sky will be better one they add new stuff such as base building and things.
Peter A it was meant as a joke. People consider the me3 ending to be bad, but the nms one is even worse. (it's really anticlimatic and you basically start over again)
No Man's sky ending is you found the center of nothing.
too bad that no man sky actually improves.
no mass effect are still a trash.

"Control" isnt good ending.
True they did a switcharoo in the end and made the red ending the good one.
@@Jebu911 They've done this a lot. Like helping Kelly in ME3. If you choose Paragon instead of Renegade Cerberus finds, and kills her.
1:18 He wanted to save us from the ending!R.I.P. Marauder.
practically synthesis is the only logical solution
What was the point of having them crash land on a Earth like planet? Was it supposed to hint that they found a new planet to populate for Earthlings?
At some point, Shepard has to make the reaper line up and form the words: "We'll bang,ok?"
Which would you choose:
1: Save humanity and all other races, but control the Reapers
2: Destroy the Reapers and all organic creatures
Destroy the Reapers and all organic creatures of course if i die SO EVERYONE SHOULD DIE WITH ME
exactly why I chose the control ending. it's proven through the series that to be alive is not about being organic rather than synthetic. people would normally view synthetic life as being... somehow fake. But this is not true. Anything with agency is a living thing. To wipe out the life of others for the sake of your own self-interest... I couldn't do that.
SociallyAwkwardGirl you're doing it everytime you eat...whatever you eat
The lowest death count, and the reapers are forced to rebuild what they broke, the only real downside is losing shepard.
control is the best ending actully that a fact
Colm O'Mahony But is it? If you look closely at the story, Synthesis is exactly what Saren wanted, and control is exactly what the illusive man was after. But you can't control what already control's you. Also the whole way through the series Shepherd has always voted for destroy, no compromise can be made with creatures such as the reapers and so it should be, another thing you have to remember is that the ghost kid/star child who tells you what each choice will do is entirely unreliable. The way he talks he sounds like he's speaking for the reapers and we already know exactly what they want and how it completely differs from what we want, as a result he's most likely completely and utterly lying about destroy destroying all synthetic life in the galaxy.
what i meant control leaves the galxay in the best condition
if you kill the dont like the then im ok with destory but i wont just kill the geth after gettting the treaty
Just completed the trilogy. I will never experience this for the first time again. It's a real shame that no matter how many times I play the trilogy, I will never get that same excited feeling again. Goodbye mass effect, until the legendary edition.
Lazarus project V2 anyone?
Nah, they did Andromeda, worst game in the ME universe instead
Blue red or green which ending do you want
Green
There was no green when I played it.
+Master Toad You didn't have a high enough readiness rating for it to be unlocked
22:53 - 24:03 gotta love the music, so epic and rewarding
Yeah, I searched for it everywhere online
I fail to see how this is a good ending prior that shep dies
Because Shepard's life alone isn't worth committing genocide.
THERE WAS NOTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS ENDING!
?
THE best SciFi Game ever!!!
Yessss nothing is even close, hopefully cyberpunk 2077 can match this story telling
And it's not even close
What if this reallly happen? I mean not the same story but the idea in it. I mean the earth is 4 billion years old. What if the game creators found warning and made a story about it? Something could have happened before...
Or maybe i played too much mass effect.
MsNacho98 Many stuff that happens in the triology is kind of cientifically correct. I truly believe that this could be sort of real. (You might think I'm nuts though...)
Rúben Silva You ARE nuts, you spelled scientifically wrong, and the earth is not proven to be 4 billion years old.
BoomieBang dosent have to be, does it?
The Earth is, in fact, 4.7 billion years old. This has been proven through radio-isotope dating many, many times. Please, please tell me you're just someone who's slightly misinformed, and not a psycho uber-Christian who believes the Earth is seven thousand years old because of the book of Genesis.
Well the ending where synthetics and organics become one(or whatever that was) isn't very realistic.
Finally...someone understands...
MrFullhp
dude...you seriously consider ANY ORGANIC BEING wanting to COOPERATE with a fucking Synthetic one? Synthetics are created to outlive their creators and make them their slaves,THAT is why organic's don't want that
Just finished the game a few days ago. I was new to the series and played all of them through from ME1 to ME3 in one go.
I have heard a LOT about the ME3 ending, that it was terrible.
I got this ending, when I played and I thought it was pretty good. Sort of bitter sweet. Hero sacrifices all, to save everyone.
It was very sad and touching.
Afterwards I have searched a bit about the other endings and the grievances related to them.
And I can totally understand all the hate against it. The "different endings", or lack of them, that no matter what you do,
the ending will be pretty much the same.
Not to mention the plot holes, that comes as the "god child" appears and with the ending cinematic.
Which I didn't thought about at all when I played the game, thou I was a bit confused.
All and all, I still think the game was amazing and I enjoyed every second of it and this ending in question was acceptable.
But what I have seen and heard about the....other endings....when I play ME3 the second time,
I don't see any reason to make any other choices. I will most certainly, always make the same choices, that leads to this.
This isn't the "Good" ending because you didn't let Marauder Shields do his job.
Still the biggest kick in the face I've ever seen in a video game.
isn't the destroy ending the good one
No, destroy ending is the WORST one if you think about the consequences a bit
Trialmaster1123
Nah. All Geth die EDI die and synthetic and organic war will happen a few years later. And as said by catalyst, in the far future, another race will create an AI that will create Reapers again, resuming the cycle.
but it was all a dream shephard was indoctro smt right?
JA Belms the geth race can be rebuild
smurfcatsLollies The Geth CAN be rebuilt by the Quarians, but I doubt they will have peace that long.
The good ending is actually Red
fantastic game with a fantastic ending thank you Bioware.
The ending is ass bruh
Man I've played this game as a child (8 y/o, we didn't care about gore lol). And lemme tell you, this game is so amazing. The cutscenes have a lot of emotion to them, I love any plot where there is something about an energy hole or something like that where you have limited time to escape/disable it/kill the controller.
It's been 6 years!! While playing I thought it was best space graphic of the time. But now I see even better ones! It was hell of a game!
What is better than this??!??
"You have choice. More than you deserve." Theres 2 options.

Destroy will be the cannon ending anyway
There is no curse in elvish, entish or the tongues of man for this treachery! My business is with EA tonight with a rock and stone.
i maked it to end. the end was so sad and i cryed about 3h couse the little boy
choosing the collar of the explosion was even harder than deciding which seat to take
I totally agree with you.
Here's my thoughts on all 4 endings
Control:the reapers basically help repair things and then the alliance can use them as security for earth and other planets, etc.
Destroy:I'm honestly more of a pacifist when possible in ME , 2, and 3 and also it's a waste of tech(the reapers themselves)
Synthesis:nah too weird for me
Fuck You Ending(very bad ending):well now everyone is dead soooo great.
Some conclusions says:
Control = Illusive man's goal = Indocrinated
Synthesis = Reapers true goal = Indocrinated
Destroy = Perfect Ending = Shepard lives. (Huh?? WTF !?)
1 The problem is, i don't believe Developers ever confirmed that indocrination hypothesis... So...
I am actually really glad that Bioware started completely new with Mass Effect Andromeda, so we don't have to deal with that Reaper/A.I Kid/Leviathan/Indoctrination bullshit.
where is the ending where you can become one with the machines. this is not the good ending -.-
Cried pretty good during this.
I know that controlling the reaper is a good ideas but still it like humanity lose... Dat y I chose the red one so that all the avengers (all alliance race) win. Also because i trust my generation can kick the reaper ass in the future not controlling them. It also for ppl who lost their love one so they get their revenge.
first time i wanted a blue screen of death for an ending
alright let's face it we all came here to see if the song was on the video.
You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villian
EMS is your effective millitary strength which you build up before the final battle on earth. To see or find it, go past the checkpoint in the Normandy and use the table where you can see all your allies. It will then show your millitary strength, effective millitary strength and your chances of success. It will even show how many EMS points you have. If you have a high EMS, it will show a green bar, while on the contrary, it will show a grey-blueish bar. If you have a low EMS, you get a bad end
The "Good" ending? I didn't realize doing what the Illusive Man wanted you to do was "Good". Oof.
20:12 Just noticed Shepard becomes the Illusive Man. Notice Shepard's eyes.
Let's be honest the endings were absolutely heart breaking for all mass effect fans, but I bet now not one mass effect fan will forget how this game ended. It's probably gonna eat at us for a while & that's exactly what bioware wants
I wish they would've let you kill that pos joker
The planet at 22:35 is vulcan, where Shepard has been in mass effect 2. This suggests that it was only a dream created by Shepard's mind from his existing memories
"So what happens to the Catalyst? Who gets him?"
"No one, he lives after the Shepard makes the choice."
"What, so he wins?
Did anyone else notice that when Shepard was on the ground and all bloody he made no blood marks on the floor
I noticed but I'm sure that's just poor detail on the animators side.
Has anyone noticed the kid at the end is the kid from the beginning who died
I think everyone has
Bruh
I chose the other one by accident...... I feel bad now that I've destroyed all humanity....
go to load and replay last mission
One question about the future wtf happened to iPods or iPads!?!?!
How did his armor go from green to completely black without any traces of being originally green.
The end music is so entrancing...
actually the extended cut disapproved of some theories and added extra ones! remember in the extended cut when harbinger says ''serve us'', that's just another one that supports the indoctrination theory.
I just got depressed for 2 weeks after the end of this game... and I still feel sadness rewatching these videos ... gdamit liara
8 years late but, wow, I actually understand what the kid was saying when he was explaining the reapers. It's actually pretty good, I like this ending.
there are 5 endings. best is destroy Reapers and keep everything pure and original.
Can you imagine being that far into the future, seeing the advancements of hundreds of years and then losing it all? That alone is pretty interesting.
One of the best lines ever, thank you Harvey Dent.
Wait a minute. If all the relays are destroyed.. then are all the other fleets and races stuck on earth?
And by the way. In both "Control" and "Synthesis" Shepards eyes turn into husks' eyes. In "Destroy" that just doesn't happen.
Isn't it cool how it goes from green armor to default navy blue?
