In my experience, it's easier to catch balance with a high seat going straight as well as easier one hands but with slammed seat it's way easier to do combos and swerve. Also i tilt my seat down a lot
Since you're in the mood to experiment with seat height and how it affects your wheelies, here's another experiment. Exchange your current straight seat post for one that's curved about six inches at the top. It will shift your weight back toward the rear axle and make doing wheelies even easier, plus you won't have to raise your seat quite as high if you'd rather not. If you're familiar with the Schwinn Sting Ray bicycles (the old ones only had coaster brakes), you'll notice the seat sits over the real axle. That combined with the bike's high handlebars make wheelies simple.
Seat does matter depending if you do combos. If you do then you slam it all the way down. Besides that you can leave your seat like 5 inches high at the most so it isn't that bad.
Dude i have been watching your videos when i was learning to wheelie and your videos have been helping me. now after 2+ years I wheelie like a god. Atm im learning one hand wheelie.👍
Yes it does. Its called the extension pole effect. Try loosening a lug nut with the regular L wrench,,pretty hard aint it? Slide a 4 ft pole over the lenght of the L wrench, and enjoy loosening the lug nut easily. The higher you are above the bike, the easier it is to pull the front tire off the ground. African American men have a 21 inch thing, that's why its easier for them to "pull" our ho's from us while we're at work trying to keep them each week .
I'd recommend adjusting the seat a little bit above (inch or less) above your normal riding seat height, and learn sitting down. once you feel like you're getting it down, start to slowly lower your seat, and keep practicing until you find your perfect seat height.
I used to have my seat high bc I used to only ride mountain bikes until I got a blocks Flyer I lowered it a bit mid way and it’s perfect Edit: I went from a blocks Flyer to a big flyer and now a OM Duro and my seat is all the way down now and I started doing way more combos comfortably. For beginners id recommend the seat a bit lower or same height as the stem
Hey, i am really struggling with my wheelies. I have the forward backeards balace point dialed, but i always lean to the side when i start, preventing me from doing longer wheelies. Any tips? I ride a 29 mountain bike, and usually ride my seat halfway between the top of my bars, and the lowest it can go.
I can wheelie standing up but I want to wheelie sitting down but the seat really hurts my balls when I wheelie, do you tilt it down ? Bike is a trek marlin 29er is my seat too high ?
I tilt my seat down as far as itll go with the nose down because when you wheelie the seat feels like its flat, its a bit awkward to ride tho, but if you wheelie it feels great, and when you do stand up wheelies its easier to start sitting down with your seat high because your balance point will feel similar. Hope i helped :)

I find it a lot easier to pull up with my seat up
Cause your used to having your seat high But if you practice with your seat all the way down you will see the difference

If you seat is higher your balance point is lower but if it's low when your wheeling the front wheel is higher

@@520isma4 it's hard to balance with your seat high

When your seat is so high your balance point make your wheel go off one inch above the ground.
@Alsharif Games 99 any tips to getting it up with low seat bc I got my blocks legit today and it's hard to pull up with low seat
He’s a real real good wheelier
Ngl ur actually a pretty good RUclipsd
I learned on a high seat and I still do combos. You just have to have better balance.
The higher the seat it moves your weight back more
Thats what i realized too i only raised my seat like 2 inches it still wheelies fine but when i put it too high it feels like ima fall back
After I lowered the seat all the way down even when Im kind of tall my wheelies improved a lot
Gabriel Jordan yeah, its alot easier feeling balance point with it low
@@ezruhg7190The bike goes higher too
i learned in low seat. it makes me comfrotable to lean further back
If the seat is too low, your knees will eventually pay the price and will let you know about it. Why wait? Raise the seat before that happens.

You probably won’t see this but when you do your wheelies straighten your arms out I don’t keep mine bent they are straight
The higher your seat the further back your weight is and the lower your balance point Is
So im short im 4,8 ive been doing wheelies standing up but I want to learn how to sitting down and im on a mountain bike any suggestions pls help

I wish I had a road like urs it would be beutiful to train in my country roads are bad and tilted and always going up and down 🥲
i like mine somewhere in the middle. legs arent cramped, easier to wheelie, can feel point still, and nice for street tiding
this kid said he gets beat 😭
When I wheelie I have to stand I cant do it when sitting does anyone know how to help
Start the wheelie standing up & sit down after you got the tire up

look for my “how to wheelie video” you’ll want to use your knees to counter-balance whichever way you’re leaning👍
with ur seat up it is easer to rest back wehn at ballence point and and i can go longer with my seat up

lil bit higher bc my knees get tired when its low

Ratzzbruv 2711 try raising the seat, if its too low like that, then its okay to raise it. You can also adjust your seat and move it backwards a bit

id get a new seatpost, lookup your bike model online and find the diameter of the post in the specs, that definitely shouldnt be happening.
From my side if you are learning do it little up because it helps in popup after put low it for better 😅
what sprocket size do you prefer?
For me I’m 6ft 2 and have it in a mid spot just for swerves and cursing whilst wheeling

It's good for your knees, too. If they start hurting you, raise your seat height.
