    41:12 In the Book of D'ni they also had "Environmental Verification Suits" that the D'ni "Guild of Maintainers" would use in their initial explorations of newly-written Ages. The suits were supposed to protect the wearer from extreme temperatures and pressures and capture samples of the environment to ensure it would have a breathable atmosphere and generally be non-toxic. If the tests passed the book would be given their seal and unprotected travel permitted, if the tests failed the book would be destroyed.

    • @CoastalSphinx
      @CoastalSphinx 7 месяцев назад +3

      If I recall correctly, the Maintainers would also conduct regular inspections of Ages to verify that they were remaining stable. And if there had been no contact with an Age for a long period of time, they would treat it as "unknown conditions" and use the protective suits until they could confirm the Age was still safe.

    Lore wise, and I'm guessing. The Tree absorbs the mineral that glows, and it's in the flowers, which the moths pollenate. Thus the Moths would also glow because they absorbed the mineral from the flowers. That's my guess at least.

    The purpose of the sound context subtitles is to narrate important things that happen outside of the player's sight and that's why you've only seen it in that one location. There's not many places where something important happens outside of the visual range of the player.
    That also explains why it's only visible above the console of the vehicle. It's a design choice specifically for VR but they didn't bother putting it at the bottom of the screen because if you're looking at the door, you don't need to know that the door is opening.

      Strange that Cyan made something so ambiguous - there are 4 different combinations, even if the correct one is literally under your nose at the time.
      Edit: let me reiterate: Cyan can be very, _very_ ambiguous, but they don't usually give you the puzzle with the solution so close by, especially not *in frame*. Usually it's deduce answer, enter, then see if it worked. This feels very strange for them.

    I want to know why Cyan thought to change Riven's logo from the ]-[ to the fish 🐠 seems like a weird design choice, but maybe they've actually added the model to the remake. Not everyone saw the silhouette or even understood the significance of it.
    The new way to gain entry into Gehn's lab was cool - reminds me more of Myst III and all the marble mechanics they used. Obviously more visually exciting than going through a duct!

There should be a hotkey to open it, it duplicates images sometimes for no reason, sometimes just captures the straight up incorrect image when I press the button, it doesn't save your position so you have to scroll down every time, scrolling is annoying because it loads up all the images in a row when you open it which makes it jittery, just kind of a mess.
