It really sells the idea that V is literally opening the gates of digital hell and allowing the demons that roam behind it to consume these soldiers without mercy.
I wonder how would Smasher react, and not just insta-killing him, i would want to see V to toy around with him, considering how powerful Blackwall is, what would his reaction would be? trash-talking like usual or begging for mercy? lol
Even with everyone constantly mentioning that the Blackwall is the last line of defense against rogue AIs, you can't really comprehend how world-ending it would be if the Blackwall failed until you see it in action
Good point. I don't think they nailed all the horror of blackwall like animations (because it is similar to synapse burnout). Maybe it should have been mix of suicide and convulsions, never the less, now we get a perspective why "black wall is the last line" is truly THE LAST line.
It would moreso be world ending to those, especially with cybernetics or implants especially. Being turned into a husked puppet would be a kindness compared to what the AI would do to you. If this isn't enough to basically show how much it can quickly melt a persons brain, implants, and cybernetic limbs. Makes you also wonder, was the old world actually that much more advanced and dangerously unpredictable compared to the new world? To where Rogue AI were actually able to be kept in check and not run amuck? Cause it seems strange that only after the old worlds great network collapse that the blackwall was created. Makes me think that during the age of the Old world (roughly shortly before Johnny's age of fame) that the worlds systems, precautions, and all together technology was far more advanced and superior than 2077's. Especially if these now extremely deadly and extremely dangerous AI's are running freely around old cyberspace unimpeded where as before they weren't, even though they were still around. So there were far more checks and balances before the fall, at least, that much can be sure. Since if there wasn't who's to say that the AI weren't the true cause of it, and not a single netrunner that became a legend (later thrown into a fridge where he died, assuming he didn't already die due to destroying the old net to begin with).
If it failed is one things. Imagine it went rogue. BlackWall is an AI itself made by Alt and Netwatch. All the People in Night City would instantly have their mind ripped apart simultaneously.
@@khanch.6807Not just NC either. Any connection leading out to NC would be the perfect roads for AI to travel and wreak havoc. It's safe to say if the BlackWall went down or rogue, it isn't any exaggeration to say that the world would come to a sudden halt, with only the most remote and isolated places and people untouched.
This should be the proper "Don't fear the reaper" ending lol. Like, V choose to took the whole blackwall power, destroying arasaka for good, died as a legend who singlehandely destroyed arasaka
You think Arasaka is just a tower and 200 guards? They can find 200 new guards in 5 seconds. You need to kill the whole leadership and destroy their factories/money/technology to take them down. Even if you killed Saburo he can just put his mind in a new body.
Blackwall itself is a powerful AI, if it's power allows me to kill any person instantly without breaking a sweat then no wonder Reed, Myers and entire NUSA goverment wanted to get her back, prefarably alive and well. She's like a fucking nuke against everything thats plugged into the net, that can be used multiple times. Also, this mission made me realize that Brigette isn't some kind of ordinary Voodo Boys' netrunner wanting chaos or 2nd datakrash... No, this bitch wanted to kill every single living being plugged into the net, she wanted to see a purge of people all around the fucking globe with the power of the Blackwall itself and AIs behind it.
Don't like netwatch but i bought that blackwall propaganda, turns out it was just watered down version of the propaganda, the reality is way WAY worse and it has a backdoor now one way or the other
She specifically wanted Rogue, though. Believed to be the most powerful and most unpredictable Rogue AI. Rightly so, though, since she used to be human and still shares some of those characteristics, if not in a more robotic way. However, she isn't so stupid as to give into the demands nor wishes of Brigitte, whom she caught onto the plans of very quickly. Living outside the blackwall, Rogue most certainly sees the chaos and unending destruction and senseless creation the AI's there do. So she would never ever want that to happen, knowing that once the AI get what they want, they basically destroy themselves and everyone in the world with them. Simply because they think themselves superior to everything alive. Rogue most certainly had enough power in itself to destroy the whole net over again, afterall she effortlessly breaches the blackwall like it's nothing, and her very presence causes systems to literally melt down. But its clear she doesn't want that for the reasons above, which I believe is why she retreats back behind the blackwall, knowing more about the world since her time hooked up to Arasaka tower, as well as at least bringing down that stupid station that kept millions prisoner or as puppets for arasaka to use later. It's ironic really when Rogue, a once human turned Rogue AI, ends up having more humanity and understanding than both humans and AI.
Her and voodoo boys are fucking with powers they don’t understand that’s why I killed them. They keep trying to poke holes into the black wall and unleash the powerful ais onto everyone
I don’t know if this happened for anyone else but my first time through this part one of the guards that got hit with the black wall went “NO NO NO AAAAÆÆÆ-“ while his voice cracked and repeated.. and that honestly might have been the first time I was taken back by the power in my hands.. like to see it and hear it was terrifying
I mean it's basically the equivalent of tearing open a portal to hell _directly inside someone's brain,_ so it's bound to suck for whoever's on the receiving end. 😅
One email from the Militech facility when you choose the Reed path is written by rogue AIs. And it reads something like "I found how human nervous system is so weak... so fragile..." So basically, what we see here is a remote destruction of the entire nervous system of human bodies.
I did this mission for the first time last night and also heard that. It's why I came looking for video. So intense and quite scary which caught me off guard
I literally felt like I was hearing eldritch horror noises during this whole sequence. I wasn’t expecting this ending to go so crazy, but honestly I don’t think I could pick another ending. Visualizing the chaos that the blackwall can actually cause was so cool and haunting at the same time.
@@levitan71 nah they'll be in despair seeing machines deciding that they are unfit to live. It's like your own god coming down personally to kill you in the worst way possible.
due to the blackwall itself literally being a AI that fights and contains other AIs, this is the power of channeling this AI to literally destroy the cybernetics of victims and kill them.
Oh damn I didn’t even think about that, I could definitely see the similarities. Obviously entirely different sources of power but still. Both basically make you god lol
I think songbird is managing the blackwall with all of her might, which is why she can hardly move: her mind is in the net, while we give her targets and drag her body along
It's funny that the new ending is considered by many the saddest, but once all those rogue AIs finally break through the blackwall and into real world the "alergic to cybernetic" V will be one of the few people who would be immune to their powers
Makes me wish the guards and others actually proper reacted to this all happening, but it sadly doesn't really happen with their reactions as they keep trying to break in. First guard being probably the only one to react in any way as he sort of backs off when the screen goes red. Certain he could see that and would likely know what it means.
The black ops and everyone else can’t actually see the red glitches that represent the Blackwall and probably random bits of code. For someone observing the fight, they’d only see the soldiers suddenly collapse in pain whilst their heads are engulfed in flames and sparks.

It’s like having thousands of ghosts possessing someone at once all fighting to control, while violently destroying the body. Awesome science fiction.
