Just google FL spearfishing regulations. I believe it’s 100yds from any fishing piers, and the same for any public beaches. As a good starting place to try I recommend point of rocks on siesta. It’s easily the most visually appealing places to dive in Sarasota. Be safe and good luck
I see nobody has answered you yet, so I'll try to help. A B Biller makes (in my opinion) the best gun for the money, I tried a Cressi Comanche (about $200) it broke the first time I loaded it, the butt plate literally broke off, and the shaft wouldn't load in the trigger assembly correctly. So I bought a A B Biller "32 Special" because I spearfish in murky water, and didn't want a long gun. I'm more than happy with it, and it was a little under $300. Good luck with your hunt. 👍
Thank you @wesleyreaves3136 I didn't have comment notifications turned on. @halliestarn I would say it depends on what type of spearfishing you are going to be doing. I mostly shore dive on the gulf which is usually pretty low visibility, so I use a short pneumatic speargun ($200) most days when its less that 5 feet of visibility. The other main one I use is a barrel style Mares gun which was about ($250) which is going to be that 10-20ft vis days.
That struggle is very real, it takes a lot of patience that's for sure. I got a sticker for my speargun that is a ruler for measuring on the spot, which helps. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0778S7JLB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
From Parrish bro, and after watching your video me an d buddies started spear fishing. Thanks for the info and content
That's awesome to hear! Its such a lifestyle not just a sport.
Awesome...live in Sarasota and down at the bridge all the time. Never thought to spearfish there. Might have to try sometime...Thanks for the video!
That is crazy cool
100 yards from shore. 100 feet from jetty of the last 500 ft if it extends more than 1500 ft from shore.
The 2 place is a nice place where is that located please I want to go
Ringling bridge Sarasota Florida. Both spots on this video is that bridge
Nice
This video is 3 yr old but how do you know where you can/can’t spearfish? I don’t wanna get in trouble, can’t find any videos regarding regulations.

@@adamorsini thank you!
Hey Adam, what kind of speargun do you recommend for a beginner?

How do you determine how big they are under waste. Everything looks big to me so im to afraid of killing the wrong size fish. (Im a beginner)

@@adamorsini what size gun do you have? Is that the 48 inch or what they call 120 cm?
Start with Hawaiian spear, after you get familiar with the size, then you can move on to a spear gun
Is it not against the law to spearfish within 200 yards of shore?
Its 100 yards from a public beach in FL. We are also not allowed under a fishing pier which I stopped at in the first portion of the video.
@@adamorsinithat doesn't count as a pier I believe
