I Learnt to fade my hair back in 2020 and haven't stopped since. My chorded chrome Wahl clipper and its guards have served me well but I can tell this would make the process WAY better. Definitely gonna grab one, thanks!
I have the onyx they are fire it has 300 more rpm which feel smooth when cutting and so the green light on the charger suppose to reset your battery while the white light is a regular charger
Hey Dre with the clipper stretching more does it make it different when throwing on guards? I’ve been using magic clips and with the lever open it’s a true half. Now with the JRL open is it closer to a 1? That’s confusing as I’m somewhat of a beginner
I have both. They upped the rpms by 300. The battery life by an hour, faster charging, battery flush system/slow charge to prolong battery life in the long run, They changed the ergonomics to make it easier to grip and hold, the blade is a big improvement and you get the charging dock with the clipper, and the lever is improved and a hybrid between clicks and traditional. Its 30$ more than the 2020c I would say all that is worth it. Its an improved version its not a brand new clipper. They dont need to make a brand new one because the 2020c still to this day holds up as one of the best on the market. They know this so they just improved it where they could. Instead of stylecraft that comes out with a new clipper every 4 months that performs exactly the same and they just change the body on it and call it a new clipper or new trimmer.
@AlanBrownSugar I have both also. It doesnt cut differently but the little improvements from the lever, the grip, and the charging dock being able to prolong battery life in the long run are very nice and worth the 30$ like i said. And the extra 1 hour obviously is nice too. Its really up to you if you think its worth the extra 30$ for those things. Gamma like i said does this with all their clippers and just change the body of the clipper and call it a new clipper and charge you 260$ for it
Pretty sure lower speed is for thicker hair, like driving a car, towing something or goin up a hill you go in lower gear, going faster your in higher gear
Will the onyx fit in the charging stand of the 2020c? Thinking of buying the tomb45 powerpod for them but it’s made for the 2020c clipper but I assume it’s the same charging port?
Great video bro God bless. I have a Babylyss Pro Gold clipper and I thought they were great but I may have to give the JRL a try. Ive heard so much good things of them. Much love Dre 💯
Seriously? I never been a fan of the original jrl but the onyx sounds like it has benefits. I love Wahl better then anything. I too prefer the cordless senior over anything especially with a style craft fade blade. But I was looking into the onyx. What are the reasons why you didn't like them.
lol i have the JRL FF2020 and SAME i got a magic clip with tomb45 battery upgrade and i get nice close blends i seem to take longer with a cut with using click levers
I'm not a professional barber but, I've been cutting my hair and my kids hair for years. Always used Andis but i'm in the market for new clipper and trimmer. Have my eyes on the Saber clippers and the Gamma+ Cyborg. Specs seem to be very similar. Only difference really is the body design, LED battery level lights, and blades (which you can buy and put on the saber). Anything else I'm missing? I can find the Saber open box for $100 vs $165 for the cyborg. Any reason why you'd pay more for the Cyborg?
im a barber the cyborg is a very heavy clipper. after a few minutes you definitely can feel it in ur wrist. I would say go with a stylecraft rebel for someone who only cuts himself and his kids!
I feel like its a personal choice on the shape of the clipper. I have a lo pro, JRL and X erogo... i like the shape of ergo and JRL... But Lo Pros have that more classic shape.
@@ybddinero JRL I fell is best for fading... the 2020c come with a taper blade which is a little for forgiving... and also the clicks on the JRL are smooth compared to the LOPRO which seem cheap... JRLs are also much Quitter... I have my LOPROS zero gaped with fade blade - so good for taking out the lines. The black lopros come with the wedge blade. I have the gold.

Yes but they shouldnt die with the stand and it has 5 hours battery life. I go a whole day without charging them even on a 15-20cut day the most they get is low or might die on the last cut of the day
i was told that the magic clip is better for more textured hair bcuz of its motor and stagger tooth blade and the jrl is just great overall for fading but has a different process
I’d say they are. I got the vgr v003 and put a madeshow cutting blade with a caliber 50 taper blade and it’s my favorite clipper, sc rebel close second
the premium wahl guards fit but if you are using the plastic guards they probably rattle a bit because of the new jrl fade blade size. I would suggest getting the Wahl premium guards or use the Onyx guards.

@@i3eastxskill323 Fuckin BEAUTIFUL 😚🤌 Really happy with that purchase.
I have both, they are excellent, Onyx is newer and I think JRL is one of the best, but it all depends. 😊

Hey brotha Quick question , do you recommend to zero gap these clippers ?
If I have to choose one good machine for home use only for styling the beard, which one do you recommend I buy: jrl onyx or wahl magic clip gold?

Guys, I don't know how to identify dark or light shadows in a fade, could anyone help me?
A mirror will help until you develop your Barber's eye
Mirrors really help and if you don’t have one can always take pictures or videos on your phone
If you take your phone and lower the exposure you’ll see where dark spots or lines are in a cut
He said zero main major differences between the 2020 & onyx it’s the same exact clipper just with 1hr more runtime & a fade blade basically overhyped

Aqui no Brasil 🇧🇷 a diferença é de 780 reais para 1200 reais
What do you think the improvement is with the blade
Yeah that’s not what he said at all you must have not watched the video fam

I bought the Onyx a few weeks ago. To be honest I prefer my 2018 Senior Cordless with the Tomb45 battery upgrade.

Hey Dre can you switch the lever on the onxy so it can be a floating lever? I prefer a floating lever rather then a click lever.
The original 2020c you could by taking out the gear in the lever maybe you can do the same to the onyx
