    Hi there, nice video! Helps to plan my cable installation for a sub behind the right seat. How did you remove the compartment between the seats just behind the subwoofer? Did you film it by any chance? Keep on going!

      Disregard. Saw the removal on your other video about the sub rebuilt. Regards

    When you speak of 'game values' OMS and stuff I am lost, and i suspect there are thousands like me too embarrassed to admit it. Can I ask where you learned all that as well as to wire amps, preamps, speakers etc. Do you recommend any books, DVD's or something. I searched all over RUclips and the net and can't find anything, just multiple disjointed pieces here and there. IF one does not exist, maybe you could put together a video that is CAR STEREO 101 and explains the whole thing from scratch, explaining what all the terms you use mean. You would probably get a million likes!

    You wouldn't happen to still have the factory plastic subwoofer box, I've been looking for one for my 2002 Z3 3.0i

      SuperKamoman sorry I commented on like a new post thing, but that would be great, we can figure out how to get a hold of each other, I don't know if have an eBay account or something that would make it easy.

    Where do we hook up the blue white wire once we get the wire in the trunk

    You left the other amp there, is it still being used ? was it too weak and that is why you supplemented it with the other one?

      Other amp was powering the speakers

    What size woofer was in the box between. The seats?

  • @richardgavek6390
    @richardgavek6390 6 лет назад

    That would be so great, I only care about the box, I like the stock location but would put a 6 1/2 kicker sub in it. My Z3 didn't have one in it at all. If we could something out that would be GREAT!!!

      +Richard Gavek I have come across a few Z3 that had none and some had the wires clipped off. I do have the blue prints for this box available in the description section of this video:

    There should have been a second factory amp under the carpet on the left side that runs only the stock Harmon Kardon Subwoofer, and while you may have wanted to do the crossover differently, you could have tapped the wires right there, and used the mounting point for your new amp.

      My 98 Z3 doesnt have a second amp, the main amp does is all. So, perhaps that's year specific.

    What gauge wire goes from the amp to battery?

    • @RaymondUrias
      @RaymondUrias  4 года назад

      I used an 8 since the distance from battery to amp was less then 4 feet

    Thanks, putting in a back up camera in my 98z3 and this is one of the few videos showing how to get the wires into the trunk. I used a small crowbar and just widened one of the slots instead of cutting the wire. Outside of the nice cut on my hand when the crowbar slipped, you showed me This Is The Way.
