I just assembled mine a few days ago and also had that weird part of the keyboard overlay. I ended up using it instead of the translucent piece for the power switch, but there is a green power led right on the other side so I think I’ll switch it. BTW, these are popping up on eBay for those that don’t want to wait 3 months to get one.
I want one to replace my tablet, wonder how long does the battery last with 4G module fitted. Suppose I use 2 batteries, running Thunderbird to check mail every 15min., turn off the screen and keyboard backlight, will the thing last 5hrs. or so ?
I’m not sure how much power the 4g modem takes since I ordered it without one :/ it also boots up pretty quickly and holds powered off standby charge really well so that could be an option
I tried installing dragonos (base is Ubuntu) but not even the screen came up automatically so there probably is some drivers to work out. maybe clockworkpi has some install instructions for setting up other os’s but I couldn’t find anything when I was testing.
Scratch that, actually was just looking at the schematics and it should just be connected over usb the keyboard has its own microcontroller and firmware you shouldn’t need to do anything for that so it was probably just the screen config
@@teaandtechtime oof, that's rough. I hope it was worth the wait for you. I'm not too bothered by a short wait, especially since I can do monthly payments on it, but 3 months is definitely pushing it for most people.
This should work with the 8gb boards too right? Just swap them out? I was reading abt different firmware they have for it but idk if it would just plug in play w a different board.
@@Spykedjadedragon Can you plase let me know, Is there a way to access the RPI GPIO ports on uConsole, even just a few of them?! Can't find this info anywhere. It would be great if that is possible, I would probably order the wifi version.
@@goranjosic There is an expansion slot… so you might be able to access them through there but I’m not an expert in electronics. I just know they are not exposed or anything.
@@Spykedjadedragon I saw that, but that expansion port looks like the most common 3.5 mm jack, which it probably is - so I doubt it's a GPIO option?! Maybe I'm wrong, but it definitely looks that way, watching a few videos. If we mean the same round port on the left side?
Hi man, Is there a way to access the RPI GPIO ports, even a few of them?! I can't find if that option exists, it's a big minus if that doesn't exist...
Nice work! Just wonder if you may need any services, like PCBs or 3D printing, in the upcoming content, if so, we'd be glad to sponsor you.🙌 (PCBWay Daisy)
Nice video, How long did you have to wait after ordering it? You are probably that first guy that I have seen in RUclips that posting the uConsole video. I wanted to order it but I am worried that I have to wait for months or years to receive it.
Nice job. I had exactly the same problems and questions you had while building mine.
good work, i ordered uconsol, still waiting to get it.
Looks great, ordered mine! Can you do a follow up after some use time? And comment on WiFi, battery, etc.?
Ya I’m working on a few things with the uConsole and those were already on the list!

Ya the translucent one was the way to go to tell that it booted and or charging
Could you also make a video for your blackberry with the Pi Zero? It looks interesting. :D
Ya I need to work on one, it definitely needs a dedicated gui or something to really flex its usability but it’s fun to play with!
+1
Yeah +1

Great job, but DAMN do I regret sticking down the antennae. They should TOTALLY be spaced off from the metal with something.
Nice thank you
thx for the video! does the official site give you the option to choose between the CM4 models?
I think it’s just the one cm4 option
Could you test Ubuntu on this? I'd be interested to see if the mouse and keyboard work out of the box or if there are hoops to jump through.

How long did you have to wait for it? Is it really 3 months delivery?
Mine was more like 10months from initial launch , but they may be shipping in that time frame now but I would expect a wait to be sure

id also like to know
I think so, but I don’t have any other options to try atm :/
Nice vid, hows the keyboard?
It’s usable but just for trying in the odd cmd, not for coding or long text entry
Would be interested if it can work with cm4 pin compatible boards like the pine64 soquartz or radxa cm5
I would think so, but there would be some work to get things set up correctly
how long did you waited since payment?
It was like 10months from the first day it came out :/
hi wazzap, quick question. Whats the porpuse of this device for average user?
It’s a portable raspberry pi computer, so you kinda need a specific purpose to buy one other than it just looking cool
Would you recommend this one or the DevTerm instead?
I’ve never tried the devterm so I can’t comment but this this is probably much more portable!
I have both, and I prefer the uconsole because the keyboard is better.

is this the lite kit?
Ya it’s using the raspberry pi 4 cm lite 4gb ram I think
I think you know the answer
after u place order u need wait around 90 days to get your package😅😅😅
Mine took much longer 10months, not sure what current wait times are…
@@teaandtechtime its sooo wired

There is a 40pin ribbon cable for gpio inside but you need an adapter forum.clockworkpi.com/t/access-to-gpio-externally/6064/6
How is battery life?
Haven’t done stress testing but standby/powered off has been minimal discharge. After a few weeks of light use just dropped below 80%

Last October, I ordered the day it launched. No idea how long the wait would be now…
Is it really clockwork though. Can you wind it up?
I wish! That would be fun!
hell slow, might need to wait when pi 8 or 12 is released
