I live in Colorado. Down in Denver, but we go to the moutains all the time. Normally I love it....but there are times when you're in the middle of no where, surrounded by nothing but thousand of pine trees....and you just know, in your soul, that you're not alone out there.
I used to live there too, years ago. I know what you mean. There have been times driving through isolated areas at night, and things don't feel...right. Not like an animal or person is watching you, but there are areas that just feel...different. Like there are OLD things there.
@bdixon800 EXACTLY! you worded that perfectly! It doesn't always happen, it doesn't even happen most of the time, but when it does...you know it, in that lizard part of your brain. It's not always malevolent. Like you said it's OLD, and it's watching. Then there are the times it is malevolent, and you know it's time to beat feet.
Man, of all the things that raises hairs on the back of my neck when listening to stories, it's a staircase in the woods. Something about how unknown it is. I'm not superstitious in the least bit, but I wouldn't ever mess with one of those.
Have you listened to Dougie Corrado's staircase story? It's a series that starts with the stairs and just escalates from there! There's like 4 or 5 in the series. Told from 1st person. Really great stories, and he is an amazing storyteller!
I've seen a couple of staircases in the woods. They looked like they had once been part of a structure that had fallen or burned down. They look looked like a great way to get tetanus or a broken limb. FWIW, I'm from Oregon and saw a set of stars near Bridal Veil Falls. The other stairs I found were near the California side of Lake Tahoe.

People say him & Mr. Ballen kinda do the same thing, but I can't listen to Ballen's voice! Dougie is an amazing storyteller & I think him & his wife write all of the stories! 💚

I discovered this channel about a year ago. Ive been very ill, both physically and mentally, for the last 2 years, been very isolated and stuck. Around the time i started watching these videos to get through the nights on new meds, I met this random Norwegian guy online. One year later, I'm in Norway, lying next to my fiance. Im still ill. Just went on disability. Life's still very hard. But it has brought me where I needed to be. And still, many nights, I listen to these stories while I diligently take my now everyday meds. It's part of a ritual of comfort, and im so thankful for all of it ❤

Worst case scenario is that you had a holiday but don't feel like it's your place, as opposed to always wondering "what if". I really enjoy the park ranger stories and these were great! Awesome narration as always. The backgrouns were so well done too. Love that they sync up so well as do the very subtle ambient sounds. The slowly appearing toothy grin was particularly creepy and I loved it! Sarge is always a welcome addition, woof! Thank you and the team very much!!

Wendigo mountain is one of my favorite stories. There aren't many movies about wendigos (at least not that are any good) and I think that story would make an awesome movie. In fact there's a bunch of creepypasta stories that would make great movies. I think amateur film makers should use them and post online to get exposure since Hollywood needs some new ideas instead of doing all these remakes or reboots that suck and shouldn't have been done to begin with.

Your narration and sound design is always so good. With some narrators I can really easily distance myself from the national park horror stories, but you really have a way of reaching all the way into my very urban apartment and getting my heart rate up. Oh boy, trust me when I say this. In my culture, we can explain a lot of this disappearance, but no one would believe us until they actually experience what we can do. Which no one ever tries to. We are unknown for a lot of the world, but our understanding of the "other world" is huge and actually makes sense if anyone ever tries to listen that is.

This happens in our old county too. Its p nyuj y. The lights and distant talking that you cannot make out of are spirits of the land. Every forest has this.
It happens too in my country, Malaysia. We named the creatures or entities "bunian". It's a "jin" species that lives in 4th dimension. The concept of time there is different from ours. Hence the ageless lost people or their items.
Lighthouse sorry for being gone for so long and missing so many great videos to watch and just got finished listening to this one and the lesson is after wearing all those story's say out of those woods because if you don't the demon with those yellow eyes will make you go miss for ever I'll say one more thing about it I'm so glad the dog was there to keep the boy safe from it 👍☕

It happens too in my country, Malaysia. We named the creatures or entities "bunian". It's a "jin" species that lives in 4th dimension. The concept of time there is different from ours. Hence the ageless lost people or their items.
The narrator sounds like he's the one behind everything and he's telling the story to the detectives.
It seems what ever took the boy out of the tent crossed the shape shifting angle maybe and it let him go and it changed to a dog to comfort the boy

Lighthouse sorry for being gone for so long and missing so many great videos to watch and just got finished listening to this one and the lesson is after wearing all those story's say out of those woods because if you don't the demon with those yellow eyes will make you go miss for ever I'll say one more thing about it I'm so glad the dog was there to keep the boy safe from it 👍☕

I wish someone would make a new search and rescue story and talk about stairs in the woods. Those are my favorite ones. There’s really no new ones at all though.
