I walked away from trucks this year. Sold my truck and bought a 24 Outback onyx for cash. Trucks prices have made me tap out after really only owning midsizers or smaller trucks for 23 years. I could "afford" trucks, but it just isn't worth it to me anymore.
If only the new Forester had a more powerful engine option. When loaded or at higher elevations, the engine is noisy and underpowered and almost dangerous when passing or going up steep grades.
We’ve had 4 Subarus over the years with Cvt’s. Zero problems. You just need to have the CVT fluid changed every 40-50k miles. It’s not “lifetime” fluid like some people tell you. They are very reliable as long as you maintain them. Just as good as our Toyotas, Hondas & Mazdas. Their awd system is awesome. I’ve actually grown to like the smoothness of the Subaru CVT. But if you buy / and only change the oil, eventually you’ll have a problem with other parts of the car.
Similar to all Subaru models, it’s just meh. Nothing real exciting. For the price I’d get a Hyundai Santa Fe or the Kia equivalent. But that’s just me.
They are all "meh" in my book. I will stick with my bland Outback. I still think it is one of the best winter cars :) But I do miss the Turbo Forester I had. :(
Thanks for the thoughts. And, you were able to pull a smile out of the rep.
Yep. He’s a good guy. I’ve known him for years. I can get him laughing. It’s fun for me. :)
The best WRX technology to put in this would be the turbo & manual. I know, never happening. I'll see myself out.

@@drn13355 and you can always rent a beater truck if you need
Same here. Exiting the trucks and just going to a mid size SUV. Can alway rent a trailer or Home Depot truck if needed.
Used truck prices crashing. Don't think you're alone
Hey brother ! Can you please review the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz with tow hooks ???
Sure, if I get a chance.
Tim are the taillights and brake lights LEDs on these new Foresters? Hard to tell.
My Aunt and her wife love theirs!

Fast enough for me. 😊
That's actually fairly priced however what does the dealerships actually charge.
I bought my 24 Outback Onyx end of Feb for 2800 under MSRP here in northern Wisconsin. Sold my truck and paid cash the rest.
Usually get decent deals at a good Subaru dealer. And watch for factory deals on low interest rates.
I'll stick with my 2020 wrx manual smiles per gallon 7k in upgrades 😊
As soon as u said, cvt transmission for that reason , im out.
That is their weakness...my neighbor replaced the engine and tranny by 120k

@@chrisb9478Exactly this. People jump on the anti cvt bandwagon just because “that’s what I heard” rather than their own experience.
I’m waiting impatiently for this, or at least the hybrid version, to arrive in the UK. Subaru don’t do well here yet RAV4’s sell by the thousands.
Honda has CVT so ...
Jill needs a shave.
😂
transmission done at 90k if that

The new Santa Fe is having major transmission issues

Too expensive for bland. Outback and CrossTrek are more interesting and at a better value.
I would %100 pass on that !
CVT, Subaru no need to look at it.
He calls cyclists bikers. lol.
Because they ride bikes
