Let me answer a few additional common questions here, and IF I answered your question, please leave a comment to say “Thanks” (Just so the algorithm knows you were satisfied with your trip to the comment section, I appreciate it!!) Why do I have so many cutting boards? -I use them as backgrounds in all my shots and food photography, so it helps to have different shades and textures depending on the food I am cooking. I don’t recommend that anyone buy as many boards as I have. Like I said in the video, if you already have a board you love, you already have enough cutting boards. Where can I find those little cutting board feet? - You can find them in my Triggazon store on my channel page. I tested 4 different sets before choosing that set because lots of the more expensive feet were made with hard plastic and would just slide, so if you want the feet for stability, give those a try. The stickers are also in my Triggazon too if you want a removable option for cleaning or changing sides. What brand do I recommend? -My favorite boards are from Sonder Los Angeles @sonderlosangeles and they were kind enough to help with these videos and give my followers 10% off with code TRIGGTUBE. I’m not on commission or getting paid for this, I just love supporting small businesses with quality products. So enjoy the discount. What about glass, metal, or stone boards? -They are all sanitary options, but they will dull your knives very quickly. I strongly prefer wood for its naturally anti-microbial properties and soft cutting experience. #foodscience #cuttingboard #cooking #kitchen #woodworking
Perfect timing, I was just looking for an affordable attractive end grain cutting board that I could recommend to my younger friends & possibly get for myself too 😊 🥰❣ I love your content & you have a new subscriber ❣
I really appreciate that you say don't go and buy one only because of this video and you also do not just say go and buy the most expensive, thats the must have cutting board.
Im in the same boat, kind of. My great uncle was a woodworker, and as a housewarming gift for my first apartment he very kindly made me a beautiful striped wooden cutting board. Then, a few weeks later, he died. It was the last thing he ever built, and it went to me instead of one of his children or his wife. I never use it, but I feel like maybe I should. He would have wanted me to have it and to use it as intended, after all
@@roboninja565 My husband and I were gifted a magnificent footed cutting board as a wedding present. It has been well used and well cared for across 60 years. It's in excellent condition! Enjoy the board. If something happens (like a crack) get it repaired,
You can also get a silicon sheet to put under the board so it doesn’t slide. It’s also great for resting spoons and other cooking utensils while you’re cooking. It cleans out super easily and dries out very quickly.
Beyond the damp towel are a piece of rubberized shelf liner. Before it was used for shelving it was invented for wood working to hold things in place without clamps.
Youre reigniting my passion for cooking. Havent cooked anything in months because i lost my confidence but your energy and passion towards this art is contagious
😂 you are helping me sooo much you have no idea. I’ve just started cooking at home after a lifetime of takeaways 😭😭😭😭 there is so much minutae that people take for granted when cooking and no one explains anything. Thank you for clearing my doubts and helping me start my cooking journey!!!
I usually don’t like plastic boards, but I got a set of flexible ones that are absolutely amazing for transferring a bunch of chopped vegetables to a pan without spilling any
I like that you start the video by saying not to buy a new cutting board if you already have one you like. A lot of shorts/videos now a days seem to encourage the viewer to buy new immediately.
I actually make cutting boards (and other stuff) for a living. The walnut cutting boards are my favorite by far. Seems to me that they are the most popular especially the end grain. Great video!
For another grip-solution for your cutting board, try using a rubber shelf liner. It is cheap, can be cut to size, and is easy to wash. The grip is solid, and you can find it easily.
I have one made of 200 year oak from neighboring yard to my great grandmother. I met the carpenter man by chance on a fair and we started talking. I use it daily and care to it, it shows minimal wear and tear. I've had it over 20 years. It's quite large and on heavy side, but the quality of it is insanely good.
I've a plastic board made of microban plastic, I love it tbh. It's got rubber corners to help keep it from slipping and it's big enough for my needs too. Also, I can chuck it in the dishwasher without issues.
After years of frustration with smaller and thinner boards I finally splashed out on the biggest quality wooden board with decent thickness that would work in my kitchen and it does indeed make prep so much more pleasant. You won't regret spending a bit more if you can afford it.
I’ve been lazy about making a new cutting board for the kitchen, I guess some you’ve made me buy good knives now I’ll have to get into the shop and make a nice board!
Great video! I have a number of cutting boards but my favorites are two wooden ones a neighbor made from wood scraps from his wood business. Beautiful boards but they need feet, and you just showed me how to add them. I keep asking him to make a bigger one for me as you are right, more board makes prep easier.
Love the production quality. There's something about it, the coziness along with a tv show aesthetic. I'm not sure but there's a feeling that's aroused everytime I watch your vids. Love that feeling.
this is the best cooking channel on youtube, just straight information and helpful tips, no showing off/being pretentious like a lot of other channel. love your content man.
Wood boards are so pretty that I use them exclusively for charcuterie. Mostly pastries and cakes because I don't make any meals with meat or derivatives. Is nice to know they are very sanitary too. I only use one because I only cut veggies. I have a separate one for working with bread and gum paste.
I love what you are doing. Your attitide towards creating youtube videos is great. No bullshit, very informative and entertaining at the same time. Also lots of effort. It's just very heartwarming. And it must be hard to do this with such low feedback, while trash cooking videos with 100 layers of cheese deepfried are getting millions of views. Please don't become like them, you're a shining star in pure darkness of youtube shorts
I don't know why I haven't thought of feet stickers for my cutting board...I've been using cork trivets for a while now. 😅 On a different note, I was always a little hesitant about shorts (don't know why) but I really love yours! 🫶🏽
After a lot of research, just bought myself a Christmas present of an end-grain board from Larch Wood Canada to go with my other present: a hand-forged Japanese Bunka knife in Aogami Super Blue carbon steel.
uf... I thought that I have too many cutting boards. It's nice to know that somebody has 2 more than me :D I am not a big fan of "feets" instead I use a cut from antislip mat for drawers. it's a "net", it's washable and it's very cheap and works with every board. try it.
Nevermind a damp towel, I keep a square of grip foam rubber. I hate cleaning around those feet, how they create an edge that can harbour nasties, and take longer to dry
In middle school, I made a hell of a cutting board cos I like, got adhd hyperfocused on it all term. I still use it 15 years later because it's perfect. I spent 4 lessons sanding it all the way up to 2000 grit, so it feels as smooth as metal, it has a drip vein, and it's ornately patterned in a combination of Mexican (my heritage) and Persian (my girlfriend at the time's heritage) Wood art. Of course I got 100 on it, and supposedly my woodworking teacher (who still teaches at that school) to this day uses mine as an example of what to aim for.
Just make your own! Get a bunch of food-safe food scraps (i.e. hard woods that aren't chemically treated), stick them together with food-safe glue, get an old plane from a yard sale or go by a local shop that has a planer and ask them nicely to run it through, then finish with a food-safe oil and you're done. Yeah it takes some work, but you'll have a very high-end end-grain cutting board that will keep your knives sharp longer and that you can fix yourself if it gets damaged (because you made it!) and that you can be proud of.
Love your videos and sadly I have all cutting boards I would ever need. All wooden but without feet so thank you for the tip. So many times I almost lost a finger cuz of the slipping
Thank you for your videos, I started watching your channel when you started your ABC series, Alla amatriciana is still my favorite pasta since!:) You're channel is really unique and wholesome, you inspire me to kook! Thanks! Thank you!:)
The biggest board that you can is not just about the size of the board itself. It’s also about the size of your workspace, how much storage you can devote to it, and making sure that you can still move the board as needed.
Instead of a wet towel use an anti slip mat made from rubber. Can be washed and definitely prevents the board from sliding around. And they are a ton better than screwed on or even worse sticky feet.
Hey TriggTube it’s me your only viewer, over the past years i have created an illusion that a lot people were watching you, how do you feel knowing that i am your sole viewer?
They get pricey, but it's so much more enjoyable to use. I find my self getting frustrated having to keep putting things in bowls and dishes to make room of the cutting board. With a big one I just have to wipe the whole thing after.

Haha. When I have other vids to throw to, it helps.
I really appreciate that you say don't go and buy one only because of this video and you also do not just say go and buy the most expensive, thats the must have cutting board.
This channel is so underrated
Haha. Glad you think so.
So true
Yeah man I just found it today and I'm waiting all shorts and videos he has 😅
I made a wooden cutting board many years ago in middle school and my parents have it and refuse to use it because they don’t want to ruin it.
Haha. That's touching.

This might be your best transition yet 🔥
Thanks. I've definitely done better, but the bar is set
Don't ever stop making videos, they're all so informative and useful
Thanks, will do! Glad you like them!
i love the message of using what you have, thank you for not pushing consumerism !!!

That loop was CLEEEAAANNN 🧼
i use a damp paper towel to hold the cutting board still, then can use that to help wipe down and clean up after
Efficient.
The transition was so smooth!
Only the people who watch to the end get to enjoy.

That kitchen space tip for the size off the board applies to the size of your sink too not only the countertop. Make sure you can clean it.
I like that you start the video by saying not to buy a new cutting board if you already have one you like. A lot of shorts/videos now a days seem to encourage the viewer to buy new immediately.
Omg this is top quality video! Amazing information and the transition at 0:33 is so good
I preferred cutting board without feet because I use both sides and usually slide the cutting board around during the prepping and cooking. 😊
I actually make cutting boards (and other stuff) for a living. The walnut cutting boards are my favorite by far. Seems to me that they are the most popular especially the end grain. Great video!

That first line made me trust you immediately, and i was not disappointed. Brilliant work.

I use the little round foam doily looking things for friction under my board. They're sold as a grip helper for opening up jars.
Ok, this is the second video I watch XD with you giving superior cooking wisdom. I am a fan now.
Just wow from the information, transition, everything is awesome
You give very pragmatic advice and share some very creative, yet practical tips.
After years of frustration with smaller and thinner boards I finally splashed out on the biggest quality wooden board with decent thickness that would work in my kitchen and it does indeed make prep so much more pleasant. You won't regret spending a bit more if you can afford it.
If you have a board you like... Yes. Mate best advice i ve heard today
I’ve been lazy about making a new cutting board for the kitchen, I guess some you’ve made me buy good knives now I’ll have to get into the shop and make a nice board!

I am so impressed with how much information you share in such short videos. Cut takes, as it were...
It's tough. 60 seconds flies by. Haha
yesss thank you!! the big cutting board tip is everything
Yes!
The one that my family has used are the thin plastic ones. They practically take up no space, are fairly easy to clean, and are non-slip.
The loop was smoooooooth
Wow, I love everything about this video
Me and my dad make our own Teak cutting boards with rubber pegs!! They’re awesome to use and absolutely gorgeous!
Dish drawer liner is also a great way to keep the cutting board stable.
Glad that you are starting to get the recognition you deserve! Been following your recipes for quite a while now.
Thanks so much! Back to recipe content soon! Had to answer some cutting board questions first. Haha
I had to replay many times just to see the transition... Super smooth!l 😍

🤪😜
FOR THE ALGO! Here’s to the being real and super informative!!
A damp papertowel works just as well and that is something you can always do. That way you can use both sides of your cutting board.
Your videos are so rich in information, I really appreciate it. Lots of valuable insights and a great tone that helps get the point across!

You can cook, just keep failing until you get it thats what we all do :)
That transition is best I’ve seen.
There are also thin silicone/rubber pads for anti slip. Might be even better than little rubber feet.
Dude you deserve atleast a million subs! You are way too much underrated!

And this may be the nudge I needed to get a massive chopping board. I love my current tiny one, but thise giant just draw me in 😅
They get pricey, but it's so much more enjoyable to use. I find my self getting frustrated having to keep putting things in bowls and dishes to make room of the cutting board. With a big one I just have to wipe the whole thing after.
That was a nice loop, gotta say.
I buy the biggest plastic cutting board that will fit my counter well. Also, must fit in my dishwasher even if I have to remove top rack
I'm not just looking for a cutting board, I'm looking for a work surface. For kneading dough and stuff.
Soft polypropylene boards are phenomenal. Shame no one ever includes them in these kind of videos.
I have two glass ones 😊
Big nylon board or big end grain board is what I go for
