yup this is a good idea. also you can reach out to an NGO or your relative who owns a business and if they can share their data you can help them build BI dashboard or basic data analytics solution for free. This way they get a help for free and that project looks pretty good on your resume

Anything that has more than 8 gb ram, SSD and a processor i7 or above should work. If you plan to run deep learning jobs get the one with a decent Nvidia GPU

Data science is not difficult. There are multiple rules in data science such as data analyst which requires less coding. You can pursue data analyst rule. Hi @codebasics This is a positive feedback from me. You mentioned that we can use ML technique to predict a player's score which is wrong as per my knowledge . The players performance are completely white noise where you cannot make anything pattern out of it. So, predicting Virat Kohli's score in the upcoming match would not make any sense. Thanks

Shiva, there are few resources you can explore such as (1) nasdaq data link (2) google dataset search (3) kaggle. You can use these to explore datasets may be related to finance and economics and build a dashboard around it.
Have never done machine learning, never done python, still have a data science career, I am not necessarily saying what you are saying is not true, but it is very very contextual, may be the most common route, but not the only one
