From Castelo Branco we go look for the Portuguese TET, also known as Trans Euro Trail. Sequence of connected off-road tracks/enduro trails all around Europe. Finally Atlas gets a taste of the fun stuff and we put the Heidenau K60 Scout with the middle strip to the test. Turns out there's some really tricky off-road in Portugal and me and the motorcycle go down on some steep terrain.

Part 2 out of a long day, ending the ride with a sunset off-road session. With how this year transpired it ended up being quite the cathartic experience as riding often can be. Something had been missing, had been taken away and then it hits you. This is it. And Portugal, wasn't expecting some of the rough bits that I encountered this day and the next. By the way last week Portugal entered lockdown so videos will probably only be uploaded one a week for the time being as to not run out of content for now. Take care out there and thanks for your continued support during these times.
If I were a Woman, I would have proposed you to Marry Me Mota Brother... Love & Respect from India🇮🇳🙏
Good going man, I'm planning on taking my bike up some tough trails like that nearby, need to swap my front tyre with something aggressive now
Please do more of this off road trails! Nice vídeos!!
Good going, well... that TET looks fierce and beautiful. Where are you stuck at during the lockdown? I would have gone to the Algarve this month, had the pandemic not happened... and you would not have been there, would it not have happened. Adventure, which ever way ...
Sad that the rona madness has made portugal also go in lockdown.. hope its all over soon, life is ment to be lived
Knowing you would fall in this episode; not knowing how and when, though; made the watching nerve wrecking for nearly 22 minutes. Relieved that man and machine survived at the end, I'll have to watch this episode again and enjoy it at it's full value. Great stuff !
Well... technically, you were already "prepared" for that...
Do you remember mi words? lol :D
""""And... Forgive me Bob... If something happens to Atlas, i have a share of guilty on that ""
Cheers ;)
These machines Bob, they have their way with you and it all starts out so easygoing. Before you know it they want you to build roads and take you up impossible slopes. That must have been fun, there's more than a few muddy sections and twisty handlebar action before the 22 mark. Cheers, next episode another big off-road one and I actually had to say "enough is enough Atlas, what will papa Bob think".
@@iPedroMota Have fun, my children ! 🤓
@@iPedroMota well, if there were any doubts about your portuguese origins, as soon as that bike dropped, they were gone. Ride safe!
Just found your channel Pedro. Subscribed immediately. Great to see a truly honest view, parking “horizontally” and THEN switching on the cameras to show us the pain. That takes real ball5, and is great education for us lesser mortals, but to do it with that great humour is the cherry, on the icing on the cake 😉. Just reunited with 2 wheels after 38 years bikeless, and so I am re-learning, and remembering my own “spills”. You should have turned right though mate, and headed for the Silver Coast, rather than straight on, to the Algarve. Gimme a shout if you head over this way. Ride on brother. Brilliant 👍
Not that you need to add more equipment to your stash, but there is supposed to be a level plumb bob device to show angles and elevation by displaying perfect horizon adjustment. This was a nice video, not sure how people come here and then put a thumbs down. Why are they even coming here?
What an episode, what a vibe!Off road medicine has you pumped!
Damn finally some Pedro Action again. My 5 year old son also watching 👍🏻🤣
Give the little one a high five for me. Remember you'll get the blame when one day he goes "mommy when I grow up I want to be like Pewdro Mowta".
How beautiful Portugal is! ..and you always find your little adventures. glad you and Atlas are ok after. it Was steep. Great to see how you're enjoying yourself!
That hill you dropped it on looked steep even on the gopro...
Stellar video Pedro was AMAZING see you off road again. Can't wait to see more.
Man I really can't wait for the next one. I really love your videos man. Long time fan
Finally something worthwhile to watch , you Daring bugger.
my Honda isnt ready yet but as soon as it has a skid plate im planting it in situations
ride safe Pedro
Not too keen on the asphalt vids eh? Yeah keep the bottom safe and it will keep your head sane when in the rough stuff otherwise every decent rock/slab/drop/elevation looks like a killer, let 'er rip, cheers.
Love watching Pedro back to back with Brett. Pedro " 1/2 hour of daylight...time for a bit more off road". Brett "1/2 hour of daylight..make camp". Both inspiring mind 👍
I highly recommend you come visit Portalegre one day. It's a lovely and very calm city with lots of history as well as cool trails for you to ride on and enjoy our gorgeous natural park in Serra de São Mamede.
Stay safe and best of luck for your rides! Cheers mate.
This bike remember me about the old bikes used in the rally Dakar, before all the regulations and limitations of power and speed.
Now I totally understand why my client says he can live in Portugal, originally he thought Spain. You ride very well man. Stay upright and safe. From across the pond, we wish you all the best. Alibi
Portugal is an open secret, I think Spain acts as a buffer and people only stumble on it by surprise. Cheers, and I wish you better days ahead across the pond.
Honestly Pedro hats off on that corner with that bike, I made it with an XT660R and it was probably the hardest corner I had to do in my life! Really well done! (btw, I didn't stop before, I went in full send!)
Grande abraço e boa sorte nas tuas aventuras!
so thanks a lot for introducing me (and others) to the TET. I already done some of the trails in earlier years without knowing. Ride safe.
Great adventure, Pedro. Really enjoyed that!
Well, Pedro, I'm at 17:40, and have to pause for bit. On Google Earth, that OLD stone bridge along side that first bridge you went over south of Castelo Branco was the MAIN bridge "back in the day", and all those OLD roads like the one you turned off on, converged on to it like branches on a tree. I've been able to follow every bit of your ride up to this point and, again, it's almost like being there when I can pin point your locations thanks to the way you include villages, intersections, water crossings and enough continuous streaming that it makes it possible to "nail the trail". Well done, catch you later...
Wouldn't be surprised if that was a Roman bridge, would have checked it out if it wasn't so late in the day. Good to hear you're still catching up even when riding the trails.
@@iPedroMota 39 degrees, 39', 42" North and 7 degrees, 35', 40" West is where you went down, there was an alternate trail around that crossing but then that would have changed the title of your video. Cheers.
Nice to have you back man!
Whhooowwww buddy,
Thats really adventure to ride solo in the darkness in the woods heheheh
Glad it all end up well.
Loving the episodes in Portugal brother 🤘
Loved it! It kind of made me remember my childhood... I used to ride those same trails with a 125 between Alfrivida and Vila Velha de Ródão. By the way I also didn't know about that gate closing that trail... I passed that thousand times!
Nice ride man!!
EXCELLENT ADVENTURE ............THANK YOU .
Olá Pedro
Excelentes videos! Descobri hoje o teu canal youtube e já estou viciado...
Boa sorte para as próximas aventuras,
applauding you right now yep
nice recovery
Nice ride Pedro. Offroad riding certainly keeps you alert and focused. Look foreward to your next episode.
awesome stuff, just awesome man - you take much bolder roads than I anticipate!
Marvelous scenery mate
Nice! This is why i subscribed to this channel. Not 30 minute bla bla around the towns
i stayed many times at vila portuguesa...they have a nice restaurant by the lake. Dope off-road riding in this area. Oh and i remember very well this steep 90 degres turn on the TET...good job!
Heck yes! Getting dirty. Good stuff man.
Loving this channel, I was supposed to to be doing same route before lockdown hit here in uk . Enjoy Bro 🙌🏽
Heej kerel wat een toffe aflevering 👍🏼👍🏼 ik heb gelachen. Met je zang en je Heidi verhaaltje 🤣🤣 kan niet wachten tot te volgende
You ride where Judas lost his boots. Nice job ✌✌ Cheers, keep safe bro
Great bike driving video! Helping me out throughout the winter, there´s half a meter of snow here
I would have awarded you the Best Adventure Motorcyclist of This Planet in back to back years if I had the power Mota Brother...From India with Unconditional Love & Respect 🙏🇮🇳
Off road heaven.....wish I could be there
Great awesome trail wit d fall you made it up again.
Great ride!
After a ride like this one, you should finish the day with "Cozido à Portuguesa" or a "Bacalhau com Natas" "watered" with some Alentejo red wine. Keep on going man!
Pedro cada monte uma aventura😄
Fire roads have been my lifeblood through the pandie... and that section of the TET looks like a fantastic time!
Good on ya
Damn, some nice riding in Portugal on the TET. I'm waiting for lockdown to be relaxed so I can get on the UK TET on Alp & Atlas's, older big sister now I've rebuilt my XRV650.
brill video you have a christmas number 1 with your singing lol
Fyi....in states we have BDR's. Backcountry Discovery Routes that take you through each state or many states mostly offroad but just like Europe there are connecting hard surface sections. Seeing this video makes me want to get out and ride!! I hope Atlas faired well. Bob you're the man!
Thanks great ride
Trails like that have me wanting a CRF450R as they ride on the Dakar rally, instead of my heavy Africa Twin. Glad I still have my KLR though. Vai pra frente Pedro! Tudo encima!
You sure are bold to go on TET with that amount of luggage and these tyres...
The further north you go , the worse it gets...
💪🏻🤞🏻
"Soon to swallow these words..." ... ???
Is there something coming up in the next episode?
Hope all is well!
This episode was thrilling! Well done!
This is the stuff! really have to think about a TET bike.
Pedro que inveja! Quando era puto andava aí em Vila Velha de Ródão!! Diverte-te
Really good MOTO...to travel evry were. ... we see this model..with a lot of TRAVELLERS
Sweet-as!! From NZ
Damn...with all those gum trees Portugal reminds me of good old Australia. I gotta get there at some point, I know trail riding is also a bit easier in Portugal compared to other EU countries. Keep it up!
great maneuvering man!
still enjoying your riding and commentary keep it up. Dave&lisa wales UK
Change that front tyre dude. Great ride. Brilliant attitude to a crisis. Thank you for sharing your adventures in Portugal.
Normal service resumes 🤣, not a moment too soon. That tire looks troublesome - I hope you keep it for a while 😁
SUPER !!!!!
You thaught yourself how to rebuild a road, now you should learn to flatten the slopes 🤣 Goed gedaan, lag echt verkeerd !
What a ride! Those trails look like fantastic fun - just maybe not on my little ninja, he wouldn't last long with those ascents and descents 😂 I'm looking forward to seeing what the next day had in store for you.
I've heard your Aussie accent..you're better than Hollywood's A listers. Good work cobber !
Quem me dera ter uma Mota off road para ir nessas estradas .muito bom
i like your videos, Coz i do like ride motorcycle too, enjoy its.
There is the fall, was wondering if you still can do deadlift on the Transalp, lol. Had a flashback of all the falls' on Alp.
Grande doido..muito boa sorte para a tua vida de aventureiro
Hi mate, nice adventure, I like it !
You have guts, to ride such a trail alone.
I would do it with a friend, so you can help each other.
Lifting such a bike from that position is heavy, pffffff.....👍
For "adventure-travelling", I would choose a Conti TKC 80 in the front , and a Mitas E07 at the rear.
Knobby tyres are better, but they do not last long.😉
Have a good journey , and stay safe (and healthy) !
Oasis-- -Don't look back in Anger :)
Hey Pedro, I have been researching the phone mount / camera fail issue, and it seems that the vibrations on some motorcycles will cause the auto focus in some phone cameras to fail. I ditched my Xgrip for a Quad Lock mount with a moto anti-vibration connector. Check it out on the Quad Lock web site. Love seeing you in the dirt again, but Bob must be nervous watching from home!
I am !
re locks: "Europe, why are you like this?" Well, hey, it gets worse in America. Slow down and look at a gate in Montana and someone comes out with a gun.
Probably been eying me coming down the horizon for the past 15 minutes. What's the universal sign in the U.S. for "don't shoot I'm but a humble off-road merchant"? New Zealand often had gates, that could be opened and closed though.
@@iPedroMota -TAT.. Trans America Trail ;}
In missouri you have to watch for purple paint on trees- purple means private and that’s your warning more often then not 😂
I hope you stay well during this lockdown. As you said "f**k rona".
I want to do parts of the TET this year, lets see what time will bring.
Abraço 🤙 Boas Curvas ✌️
This fall remembered me that Bolivian road you had to rebuild...
Man, you are aggressive. But I’m loving it!
O no, i have eaten all my favorite Engelse drop. And the video is still going.🤭
Rain and trumble hunter ;-) Don't use Hidenau in fron, to slippery!
yea boiiii!
That was an original score? Quite good ! The TET doesn't have Black Diamond markers. If Atlas had more power it could dig down to Heidi edges.
I learnt long ago that you must keep your speed up on slippery and rocky roads. That way if the front wheel slips sideways , you have so much forward momentum, that it finds its own correction.
Getting bored beyond belief here in the good old N of L with the lovely straight boring roads. Currently living vicariously through you, waiting out the storm before the exploration starts again.
Keep your head up Mr. Guzzi, just joined your boat last Friday and keeping en eye out how this evolves since I know they don't like letting you out once you're in. Any plans come springtime?
Exactly know what you mean..
@@iPedroMota Oh my head is way up there, working on getting my papers to make some money as a riding instructor which is great fun. But riding wise I`ll stay happily bored for another year or so I reckon. Then it`ll be time for Vladivostok / Sth Korea / Japan on the lil Guzzi sometime after that. And a fair bit of riding with Dad in the meantime which is super precious for obvious reasons.
Nice, onder de noemer van, earn a living doing what you love then it's less work. First step is to have the idea so, you know the drill. Keep making those km's with pops and do him the groeten.
Just a tip Pedro, you can download an app called OsmAnd and then follow the kmz file as per normal GPS instructions, this app (GPS) is also free and has good maps. I use it all the time when I ride and l can follow the routes I create. Cheers
Super vídeo, getting better and better!
"DAS IST EIN BEFEHL!!". LMAO, hilarious. Well fought.
Dude that lent you Atlas is having second thoughts after this video :)))
I am sure he didn't lent it just for the Asphalt.
Right ! No second thoughts at all ;-)
Ho Pedro, I use hydenau, I like to deflate the tire when I do long stretches on offroad
about tracks and gpx, have you ever tried Osmand/Openstreetmap ?
Welcome back to the dark side🤘
Alfrivida is where Alf was from! Not a single cat for kilometers!!!
That hill sucked. Pedro I hope you try the Bridgestone Adventure cross AX41 tires soon.
G'day gum trees onya mate
There is also TET app for android where you can download TET maps :)
Pedro, lets ride on your way North
Haidenau Boss Evil Laughs. Haidenau Engeneeer Crys. Pedro Mota Owns! TeT with mud and wet haha! You the man!! :D
Next episode tet owns me. Thanks Mr. Heidenau, I should invite the engineer to come cut the tyre like some suggested. Hope all is good up there man.
@@iPedroMota Solution : ruclips.net/video/3kMlEOxf2qE/видео.html haha :D Take care my friend :) Ride safe!
Heidenau (its the name of the town) is a relatively small company and the people there are relaxed. Actually you can speak with the responsible guys on the phone If you have questions...
@@humanbeing1675 thats cool :)
"Happy is when shit happens".
Yep, that has been my experience too!
A little pessimism goes a long way towards safety.
Can't beat a bit of Oasis on the dirt roads
Look at this o.g name in the comments, good to see you again.
@@iPedroMota Thanks! I'll admit I have to catch up on about 10 of your videos actually! ✌️
In Italy all GS riders got antlers.
Nice Ride, wich GPS APP are you using?
Maps.me, does the trick and a lot of times even small tracks are on there as dotted lines, offline maps to boot.
What were your tyre pressures when you dropped it ? Curiosity !
Keep up the singing!
Do the ACT Portugal tracks (search for Touratech ACT, its for bigger trails, TET is much more tecnical)
Heh, I'll find out the next day. That uphill slope, got the wrong tires and with better ones it will still be a good effort. Paulo already put me onto the ACT thanks. Was planning to include it into the ride up north but now with the situation in Portugal I can't really say what my plans will be in the near future.
@@iPedroMota Yeah, I did days 1 to 3 last year of ACT, same concept as TET, its just gpx files, but are more "big trail" inclined, hopefully will do days 4 and 5 this year (check my channel, I have the ACT videos up) If you do come to Lisbon again, coffee is on me ;)
Great to be riding along! As I’ve lost my kiwi license in Italy as I’ve been here over a year, pulled up 3 weeks ago, and took my license!! Can’t read or speak Italian, so cant take the tests!! €110 instant fine, thankfully I had cash. They sent my license to NZ embassy in Rome. Hmmm now what? Any suggestions from anyone who’s had a similar experience, would love to hear how to get around this situation, if a possible easy way. 😊 love the vid and food of Portugal 👍🏼🍻🍻🥝
@@iPedroMota ""blame it on me"" ... but i think i should have removed the hard sections of ACT from the .gpx to try to keep Atlas "safe" lol :D
Regarding the lockdown, well i do hope wont be to severe or long.
@@bboy7386 You should get an IDP or IDL (ask on your embassy)
International driving permit (IDP)
international driving licence (IDL)
They have 3years or 1year renewal time, in case of NZ i think its only 1y option
(its always wise to get them, so you keep your original licence with you and "safe")
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Driving_Permit
Fuck Covid Awesome video. Those roads look like a hoot to ride, thanks for sharing.
Boa noite, qual é o restaurante em Vila Velha de Rodão onde foi comer o bitoque. Ando por estas bandas e não descobri esse restaurante
