I work at a Kubota dealership in the netherlands, and we often deal with not being able to order parts.
For example, the very popular b6000/b7000/b8000 mini tractor. They are imported from Japan and never sold new in EU countries, and the EU website for looking up parts and diagrams only shows models from EU.
Even if you have the correct order number for a part, the dealer website does not allow you to order it.

Inteks are trash. Only good small engine from briggs was the Europa. Now they tell you to never change their oil just add more disposable engines now. The early Kawasaki fj180v square plastic tops had a head gasket failure issue too. I have 1 right now with this issue. Smokes clouds of blue as the oil is getting sucked from the pushrod channel into the cylinder. No issues with the new kai fj180v though

    • @totojejedinecnynick
      @totojejedinecnynick 4 года назад +17

it is a seasonal equipment, so those hours accumulated over many seasons. Poor machine just sits and then goes full chooch - as you could see in the vidya you pretty much go full power all the time, so out of those 2000 hours I would say it ran 1900 on full power. If all that happened was a gasket leak (not turbo, rings, injectors, valveseats) then gj kubota

Outdoor power equipment is rated by run hours. These engines will typically be operated all day at anywhere from 3k to 3600rpms. Your cars equivalent would be running at 60mph which the engine maybe at 2500 to 3k rpm. Now if u knew how many hrs you car ran very few of them would be above 3k and even then not for very long periods of time. These things take a beating everyday

Industrial application companies can sometimes help with difficult parts. If your engine is a Kubota and it's not in a Kubota machine, for Ontario you can try MK Power, who are based out of Mississauga.
They can be testy though. Through the grapevine, I've heard MKP gets a lot of callers who go "uh it's a kubota, like, diesel? and I need the like, you know, the bolt that holds on the thing?" So be sure to have all your engine details at the ready.

U need to find the #'s for the second engine and start ordering like a mad man. True story I swear.

They make exhaust "gasket making material" in sheets that you can get from most parts stores, but it is usually special order in the smaller stores. It has a tan colored high temperature gasket material on either face, but a metal inner core. You have to use tin snips to cut it. I've used it on cars with turbos before, it doesn't blow out like some might assume. It works well for unique applications where you would have trouble finding gaskets.

2,000 hours is only 1.5 to 2 years of use for a golf course trim mower like this. It should go 15k hours These are used for cutting the rough around areas where vig mowers cant get. Some courses might mow all their rough with a few units like this of its a higher end course that can afford the extra labor. Ive worked both.
I run equipment amd do maintenance, nodiesel work for me.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to put some sealant on that stud that extends into the water jacket?

Isn't put your nuts back on kind of self explanatory? I mean I figure we all do that as just normal daily operation, right?

Ransomes are based in ipswich, ransomes are now ransomes jacobsens but their HQ is still in ipswich on the aptly named ransomes industrial estate. Hence why most of their parts have to come from their. My guess is they buy kubota engines and turbos and possibly make their own manifolds.

I have changed a lot of these gaskets in my past, we made 8 wheel drive hydrostatic ATV machines using kubota v1505t diesel engines, and also at a golf club i was a mechanic, they used kubota engines in most of there toro machines. I love watching your videos . scottish man now living in England. keep them coming !!

What are those sockets you used on the torque wrench with the flats?

Kubota does that with most of their crate engines I believe. If you ever work on a newer Bobcat with a Kubota and need parts for the engine, you're either stuck being bent over by the dealer, or going to a Kubota dealer in the US for cheaper parts. The dealers here aren't allowed to sell the parts, even though they can look up the ESN in their system and generally have stock, and the generation is shared with some of their offerings as well.

Try cryogenic trailer or marine shops. Alot of Kubotas are used in gen sets on boats and we use them to run our hydraulics for our cryogenic pumps.
