0:08 BMW didn't "update G11 to G12". G11 is the code of the short wheelbase version, G12 is the long wheelbase, both of these codes apply to both pre-FL and post-FL versions.
For real? Wtf. I always thought it was g11 for the pre face lift and g12 for the facelift. I guess that's my sign to actually do research instead of going off the top of my head. Appreciate the correction! I'm guessing the correct term would be g11 for the pre face lift, and g11 lci for the face lift
@@Torkyo4ASpin the 7 series lwb probably not due to Chinese influence, but fun episode might be to do one on wonky lwb versions of cars in the Chinese market. They got quite a few.
3:00 even Nascar didn't like the face lift if the camaro. In fact, the new Nascar camaros have the facelifted rear, but the front still holds the classic 2017 front.
For real they managed to really pull of something crazy with that. mentioned it in an earlier video already so decided to not repeat haha but man that car really looks good. The opposite of this video would be when facelifts work and the prius 100% is making it on the list lol
That's so cool. Always like to hear this type of thing with cars that have some sort of sentimental value. I unfortunately was never able to as my family changed cars so frequently
@@Torkyo4ASpin That's so sad, my family had this thing where we would keep a car for 3-5 years if we liked it enough. My grandfather even more so (He kept it for around 10) he had a 350 prior to that & even further before that he had a 300zx (I never saw it sadly).
It really is, I loved cars from the very beginning but never got to actually enjoy one for long enough. It ticks me off to this day and I complain about it to my family pretty much daily lol. I remember my father had an sl55 amg back in 09 and I liked that one a lot. Had it for 4-5 months ish before it one day vanished from the parking. Sad honestly the more I think about it. I do believe that cars should be kept for at least a few years, 3-5 sounds about perfect to be honest. 300zx, your grandfather has excellent taste wooow haha
It's really confusing, as well as depressing, that car manufacturers nowadays place some car facelifts as "All-new" cars, like bro, it shares the SAME CHASSIS.
I disagree with the NSX facelift. I like the look of moulded headlights, as they tie better into the true design. Pop-ups were a regulation work-around and were janky
I personally strongly disagree with your take, the pop-ups fit way better, the car was designed with those in mind and the moulded lights look like an afterthought to me.
I too agree that pop ups fit that car better in my opinion, but I know at least 2 people irl that actually vehemently disagree with me lol so not completely surprised to see that
What are you talking about? These are how facelift should be done to cars. Have you seen the faces of Hollywood celebrities after facial surgery? They're horrendous!
Correct some are different gens, but I just included them for the sake of it for now. I had some other cars like the tiburon and what not but I realized a lot of people already know about it, so just changed it up a bit
Hey man I discovered your channel today itself and you're doing great my bro all the best for this journey and im proud to be with you right from the start ❤
While I understand that Honda/Acura had to update the NSX due to regulation reasons, they could have done a lot better with the design of the fixed headlights. Something similar to the flush headlights on the 300ZX could have worked a lot better than what Honda/Acura decided to go with.
I always loved the new 7 series design from 2023 to now but now i realize the face is not that good, but tbh the new body and interior look more luxurious
I actually prefer the facelifted NSX to the original one. I’m not really a big fan of pop up headlights as to me they just ruin the design of the car when they’re up. Like they just look goofy and out of place from the rest of the car.
I think you misunderstand the word facelift, but I get where you're coming from. Especially when a simple and lovely design (for example older Ferraris) is reinterpreted with more styling and angles (like modern Ferraris), it usually dips in appeal, because the design loses it's charm and gets to convoluted.
No offence at all, you used the style of video of corsicar (at least I think) which I think is a great idea because I think your gonna get lots of subscribers
Youve picked pretty horrible examples that are all very subjective i think. Many of these have their lovers and haters so they all boil down to "its different from before". I think the facelifted prius is the best looking prius they ever made, while the older one is one of the worst. The camaro i can see but i think that was a full generation jump, wasnt it? And even then i still know pleanty of people liked it. A more objective critique of design jumps would be something like the fiat multipla going from first to secon generation (i dont think it was a facelify but this is just an example) where the design was changed to "fix" how ugly the car was considered, but in the process it lost everything interestimg about it and is now just "an car" that no one remembers, whike the first is sill talked about today. So, what design was more successful? I would argue the first design, as it was at least intetesting, different, unique, etc. Maybr the mustang II falls under this catagory too, though again i think that was a full generation jump.
I just pick what based on my opinions haha. I realized pretty early on that if I tried to be unbiased or pick mass appealing video ideas/content, it would get pretty mundane and repetitive. Not to mention the fact that I only pick things that I have some knowledge about already so pretty much based on my interest. Maybe I'll start researching more into things for other videos, lets see
I'd put the C8 in. Sorry, but that one didn't do it for me The R35's front end is also a bit weird Also - the eclipse. Not really a facelift, but why is it an suv now?
Ooooo thats a hot take, I like the c8 personally but the front is a bit too much imo. Agreed with r35 and most definitely agreed with the eclipse I have no idea what Mitsubishi are doing genuinely. I might make a controversial car opinions video and include the c8 actually
@Torkyo4ASpin the C8 feels like a deviation from the rest. It's not that I dislike it, but the sleek design from all previous generations (C1 aside) had something special. You look at any of them (C2-C7) and there's no mistaking it. The C7 got a tad bulkier, sure, but it still resembled other corvettes. Now the C8 doesn't quite have the same impact
Yeah you could put the previous generations before the c8 next to each other and you could tell that it was a corvette, almost similar to the 911 generations. c8 really is a complete departure
I actually removed that one from the list because I was struggling so much to narrate that section I've got no idea why 💀💀 I'm not great at script writing because I just write paragraphs in the format I learned at school and it cost me lmao
What if you started making videos that are like a deep dive into the history of the design of one car, maybe take whatever skill you are good at and apply it to analysing that car's design history with research. These videos would be 10+ mins (I would prefer 20) and you could upload then once a week maybe
Yeah it depends because I've got other things right now that I focus on more, I don't know how much time I can devote to super deep and analytical dives into things. Most of this stuff is knowledge I already had so script writing takes me a maximum of 1 hour. Lets see haha
I think you made a good choice by avoiding static by showing some videos. But one thing I noticed is that you often speak too fast, making the video sound a bit chaotic. This is just my opinion, and I’m not saying it’s bad, but for me, it feels a bit rushed. On the other hand, I think the part with the honorable mentions sounded better because it had a more calming tone.
Oh no you're completely right because I noticed the same thing I was like damn I speak fast 😂 It's because I wanted to keep videos under 5 minutes but now I think it's inevitable that the length goes up. I appreciate your feedback by the way, the content needs to keep improving haha!
the new prius was actually a good design and the interior the suspension and reliablity is really good , I do not understand you? why do u not like it. it is such a good car actually 2017 verison

Yeah haha but someone told me to include it in a facelifts video and I just went with along lol
Bro should've mentioned the latest Prius which looks dope
For real they managed to really pull of something crazy with that. mentioned it in an earlier video already so decided to not repeat haha but man that car really looks good. The opposite of this video would be when facelifts work and the prius 100% is making it on the list lol
that’s not a face lift tho. that’s a whole new model
True but the one here is also a whole new model haha so it wouldn't have made a huge difference per se
and the new NSX, looks so awesome, but nobody really talks about it.. 😢
Will make the underrated cars video
i personally think it's overshadowed by the older models
well they discountinued it
They Acura nsx type s is one of the best lookin cars i have ever seen
The NSC is a 9 speed as well. I always find that interesting
I personaly think the 370Z is better than the 350Z (I'm fully biased) because it is one of the few modern shark inspired design (me think shark cool)
Honestly I can see what you're saying sharks are very cool 😂 I'm biased too for the 350z so were in the same boat lmao

Exactly. Car brands in general man I got no idea whats happened I gotta make a video on it
I mean, in some cases, enough changes for it to feel like a new car (the new Aston Martins, for instance). In most other cases tho, I agree
Newest Prius had a _massive_ glow up tho. They look REALLY cool now!
New video: Car Glow ups! Prius will make that list for sure!
How can we roast the NA2 NSX?? That shit is lovely bro
Look look I like it kinda, but cmon the 1st one is just pure perfection
@ Yeah the first one they definitely cooked fr, but I feel like it just overshadows NA2 too much that it has no room to shine.
the funny part about the camaro is that the 2021 facelift is probably the best design of the modern camaro since the 2007 model
completely agree and the problem is a lot of 2018+ car designs just aint it these days
am i the only one who actually really likes the fixed headlight NSX?
Yes. ;-)
😂
i like it

Cease and Desist your designers dawg wtf are these new ferraris
😂😂 chill chill they're gonna be one me man
the '17 prius looks like a clay model of a good looking sedan was pinched and stretched from the front
Genuinely I cannot for the life of me figure out what those designers were thinking
corsicar sure has a nice channel amirite?
Dude you're so underrated ❤
I appreciate it a lot man thank you!! ❤❤
I only agree with ur opinion on Camaro. Both Prius & BMW facelifts were awesome
Nice one bro, subscribed!
Personally i really like the new jag f type cus i feel like it didnt look aggressive enough, it didnt look like a jaguar.
NICEEE
( the video not the bmws )
😂😂 I should make a separate video on the ugliest modern cars (it's all bmw)
@ hahaha lol that would be great
What are you talking about? These are how facelift should be done to cars. Have you seen the faces of Hollywood celebrities after facial surgery? They're horrendous!
I always liked that version of the Prius 😔
😂I actually like the zigzag taillights on the last gen Prius
WHAT
Phonk with a paper background is a weird and jarring combination, not a fan.
To each their own my friend, I personally find it to be an interesting combination at the very least
babe wake up new paper background color just dropped
Redesigned the entire channel based on it lol

Pop ups were banned bc of safety so thats why most of the cars had no pop ups later.
Your content is amazing ❤

Whats the song you used in the second half of the video????
The one in the honorable mentions part?
The Camaro facelift is worse than the Prius one in my opinion
100% agreed

Agreed with everything you said. I don't hate it, don't like it either could've been so much better
I kind like the LCI G11 7 series way better than the new one.
I think the original Prius is more better than the current, because it look like it's from out of Blade Runner 2049
Very cool! keep up the good work
Thank you!! I'l do my best lol
Say what you want
But I like face-lift nsx more than original one
Oooo I mean I understand
The pop ups are not their fault entirely.
