Especially, chasing the baby animal and waking up early to go out with their grandfather to feed the animals. They are all professionals now and give back to Jamaica in many ways. The school of Samba only opens at night. Where people come around to practice and others to chill. And practice to new song or discussion to the new project for the year. Wardrobe. coreography etc... It dosen't open every night .

We have nasal sounds in Portuguese that don't exist in Spanish like in English. Also open sounds that they don't have. So, in general it's more difficult for them to understand Portuguese than the opposite. Differences in grammar, too. But, it's certainly easier for a person that has a native Latin language to learn another Latin language than a person of English language, for example.

In Brazil you have an entire community of Afro-Brazilians speaking Portuguese; in Equatorial Guinea and entire country of Africans who speak Spanish; and of course in the U.S. where Afro-Americans speak English, just to name a few...and all due to the slave trade. You address none of the history or culture of the places you visit, you just go and enjoy the environment and culture that the people have been forced to either create for themselves or assimilate into without all of the depressing historical commentary.
