I don't understand why they say if we are ready for this. We ARE ready for this AND as soon as these humanoid robots become sentient. We just treat them with respect and don't treat them as slaves because that could turn around on us.
You think that humans, at large, are ready to accept a potential new sapient species on this planet, evein if it's manmade? While I hope that the change will happen without major incident, I don't think we're lucky enough for that to be the case...

Like I told Tesla on X to give Optimus a pivot point like humans have in their feet where our toes are, and they listened. The next iteration of Optimus had a pivot point on their feet so they could push off instead of looking like they have to take a dump.
The video puts the lie to almost all the narration. They are slow as molasses. Maybe the fact they don't sleep or go home at the end of the day can make up for that; I don't know. Also, what is said is never shown. What does their interaction with people actually LOOK like? HOW do they react to a potentially changing environment? Seems like real humans would quickly become impatient with their plodding, awkward robot coworkers. In short, move on to Figure 3, awready. I've seen enough.

I am 100% ready for this. You need to understand the downfall currently with battery life. They run 24/7? No, they need charging after 2-4 hours, and have to be replaced with another one while they charge. in a 8-10 hour shift for a normal human, you have to switch them out every 4-5 times per shift. I hate the conversation anti Robotic and Ai progressive suppressive individuals say. Forget the movies and books you have watched, and judge as the times roll out. You are beginning to sound like futuristic superstition. Twelve Monkeys, AI, Terminator is all fiction. Use what you see after its implimented, and not be swayed by youtube videos, they try to raise emotions against it for likes and clickbate
AI + robots produce but they don't consume ie they don't buy the things produced. Only we humans do that. So if your government doesn't take taxes from businesses to *give to you* to consume with, then you will starve and your country's economy will tank. Think about it - this is the only logical future that can succeed.😊
Benoit Hamond shadowed this problem long ago in a former French Presidential election. He had very low score but was also the only candidate who forseen this and had a decent solution to it (Tax Robot that is to say the capital that a few will own will have to be distributed as equaly as possible to the ones who were deprived of its benefit). Now it's going to happen and the societal question will emerge again. Regarding the video, it would be better if these performances were compared to what a human worker does and perform. This takes me back to an interesting discussion I had with au automation engineer. He said to me see this post was to be automated (wood industry). They did it. And it failed heavily. The reason was the human was doing quality check on the post, looking at the quality of the planks, removing the ones which looked shoddy to him. This was not something this post implied but that's what made the workflow efficient and nobody in the higher ups knew that. The same goes for robot: if they can take this sort of initiative and upgrade the quality of the work overall then they'll win over the human otherwise well let's see what coming on a longer term.
I agree they shouldn't have to work unless they want to also shouldn't they get to own themselves am I the only human that's thought of this ? I have so many questions can they get married can they get on dating sites?
People are no robots, if they have no real purpose they will die over a few depressing generations. Indeed if the have no purpose why would ever developing super Ai need Humans ? They wouldn't.
we should use this opportunity to phase out capitalism and establish a cooperative OPEN ACCESS ECONOMY where all intellectual "property" is shared and far and UNIVERSAL BASIC SERVICES provide all people with goods, services and necessities.

@ceasingbobcat6150 We're only ready, if we aren't ignorant....
The question of identifying genuine self awareness from faked, mimicked one, is empirically, unanswerable.

They are walking similar than former co-worker 😂
We are on the way to replace us.
Robots become soldiers in battlefields in 3... 2...1.... (military here we go)
This is the end of peoples gigs. Who is happy about that?
To your question of "...where do we draw the line? My answer is "somewhere back there..."
Cool 😎 🆒️ 😊😮🎉❤
UBI, Great how do I get a raise?
meanwhile people starve everywhere...
How's that faster than an average person?
They meant a Depressed, Crying person who just lost their job to a Robot..

It took Unitree's G1 just 48 hours to learn how to walk properly, why can't Figure2?🤨
Figure O2 is still busy kicking out human factory workers.. Give it a little time..
Why do they walk as if they didn't make it to the bathroom?
If this was Teslas robot, hundreds of videos would be made about it😂

Then, like a Gangsta Robot snuffs you out because you're now useless.. Rather just pay for the beer myself!

Some kind of universal basic income and taxing of robots to fund it
