im going to say this every time i love the relationship you all have with each other and hope one day RUclips pays you for everything you guys surly deserve it.
Right wish my father understood that cars were meant to be modified. He taught me a lot about cars but had the if it ain't broke don't fix it attitude. I love the family bond with these guys 😁
I always look forward to yalls videos. I love the father son dynamic...and i love old s10 trucks. I just love watching "the kid"and "Tommy 2 guns" race, and pops there for tuning and support.
DAMN BILLY!!! If it wasn’t for bad luck you wouldn’t have any😤😤 Miss the days of the truck making passes one right after the other no problems, so just imagine when you get all the weak links lined out...TRUCKS GONNA BE A HAMMER💯👍👍💯
Keep your head up young man I'm 38 years old Ben drag racing most of my life when you start making more power you're going to find the weak links.. I watch every one of your videos you guys are awesome yourdad your brother your chick you guys make one heck of a team man keep the videos coming hopefully someday I can meet you all
That beats having to cut the damn converter open and having to weld it back up and balance it. Never seen the inside of a converter either. Thanks for the info👍
I don’t understand why people are disliking his videos. Yeah they don’t talk much, but you can learn a lot by watching them and their dad. Hang in there brother! Don’t let this shit bring you down!
This channel is way better than anything on tv. Especially if you’re another racer and know what’s going on or think you do. Always learn something from you guys. The videography is great too. Love watching you guys and Molly Motorsports.
Probably the best SR channel out there. This well done video has lots of tech and mech for the gear heads and racing motion for speed freaks. Dad is cool as hell keeping the kids in line working to get it done and on track by moving their truck(s) tech level forward all the time.
I really enjoy this channel. It shows the good times with the bad times in bracket racing. I know cause we did professional bracket racing out here in California way back in the 1970's 1/4 Mile track. Bracket racing has come full circle since those early years over to the 1/8 mile track rules. Those S-10 trucks you two brothers have built up with your Dad are super impressive builds. Looking forward to more race test and results. Hang in there tough Kid.
You should watch how a stator is changed out on a welded converter! When I went to UTI back in the late 80s I was most fascinated by 2 things. The planetary gear set in an auto trans and the torque converter or what still call, the fluid coupler! Both of those items are so genius that it probably took a prophet of the infinite to design!! I mean that they are both so counter intuitive that the genius involved in dreaming these things is unbelievable!! We take them for granted now.
I work in a machine shop in Ohio and did the tool and die work for Chrysler’s Jeep line in 2018. It’s crazy how much of the automotive work has now been outsourced to Mexico or other countries all for that dollar$. But your right whoever designed the fluid coupler my hats off to them!
You went to tech school and didn't learn who designed the converter, the double planetary gear set, and that a converter and a fluid coupler are two different things? So what I have heard about that school is correct... or you forgot over the years. I did 4 years in the military then went to school in 93, somehow I remember.. Went to a community college in my home state, 98% lab work and the only classroom stuff was for noobs who didn't know things like how to read a micrometer and other basic stuff. Took me less than a week to go through that, more of a 'prove you know this' kind of thing. Here is some of those answers..maybe it will jog your memory.. the patent holder from 1949 was Pol Ravigneaux for the double planet set. The GM engineer who designed the Th350 went crazy, and the old Slim Jim 4 speed auto from before the PG and Th350 had a fluid coupling, the later transmissions had stators in there so that makes them torque converters. A fluid coupling is only the turbine and the impeller, they tend to slip quite a bit more and do not multiply torque like a converter does. Its like a fan driving another. In a converter the stator throws the fluid at the turbine harder and the one way roller in it makes it ineffective after stall and 'fluid locking' all things that the fluid coupler cannot do.
Sorry for all your bad luck but things will definitely turn around and you'll start knocking them down again I love seeing you guys all your family everybody working in the shop together and that you show everything
Something about this channel and the way they work together as a family...i just love it. And i have a Weird affinity for old s10 trucks, because my first vehicle at age 14 was an 88 s15 2 door blazer with the 4.3 v6...so obviously my second vehicle was an 86 s10 with a small block and a typhoon front clip. Never did get the real deal typhoon/cyclone...but i will some day.
I agree I love all makes but am a dodge guy. But this is one of the only Chanel’s that is a real life show. Not just the good. It’s the good bad and ugly. True racer.
Hang in there, Dude!!! Remember, good things come to those who wait!!! It could've been worse, motor could've blown... Take a negative, and turn it into a positive!!! You know I'm rooting for you...
8:20 1 1/2" off the shaft is a lot! The rear diff moves forward when you lift them on an arm hoist and take the weight off the springs, probably your issue getting it in and out. If it was tight coming out you should have taken 1/2"-3/4" off of it. When the truck squats on the launch the rear pulls back farther and the yoke moves rearward on the tailshaft of the trans. That's my 2 cents worth. I enjoy the crap out of your videos!
I had to take 1 3/4" off of my 84 regal with a 400 and 400 TH trans when I first bought it . The guys who initially put the mtr and trans in ( both mtr and trans were both hurt when I bought it and it hadn't been driven 5 miles ) literally beat the and preyed the driveshaft in to the rear pinion . When they tried to drive it the suspension movement down drove the drive shaft into output shaft and pushed the band and clutches ahead immediately tearing the 2000 dollar monster trans up ... I had to lift the care so the suspension was fully extended and pull the shocks off in order to remove the drive shaft ! Lol
Going fast is expensive. I used to run bracket in a 66 Nova. Most fun I had was running a 355 with a 2bbl and a glide. Put a lot of cars on the trailer. Enough to be number one in my class to go to the bracket nationals. Not fast but consistent. I love watching the S10 brothers kicking ass!
Hey Billy.. make sure when you are splitting any machines face that has dowels to check for jacking bolts to spread the faces instead. As tempting as it can be pry bars and screw drivers only make life difficult later. Great vids keep em comin.
It's always something.....change stuff hoping for improvement and nothing but grief. I've worked all night to get stuff back together, drive 3 hours to the track and have something come apart during the burnout. The good thing is you and your dad keep after it, admit your mistakes, and put a lot of thought into what you do. I always look forward to your videos. Real racer life and you don't carry a truck load of B.S. with you. Really like the music on your videos too.
Your pushing so much power it almost seems like more spare parts on hand could save allot of grief. Not saying a full enclosed deal but at minimum the cheap parts that break and put you on the sideline. Youll make it through you and pops always approach your issues and correct them. Keep on keeping on bro!
Love you guys. I lived in ohio until I moved to Tennessee, sand drag raced for years.I thought I still had a multi layer fire suit to send you,but dont.someone needs to send him a suit especially now with methanol. Love the relationship amongst your family. Great job guys!
Good news! The grandparents just went together and got each of them new fire suits and gloves. It was overdue. Billy will talk about it in his next video 😊
Someday I like your family, very awsome family bond. Don't fret the breakdowns ,its part of racing ,I help out my little brother when he goes racing in small tire mustang . Keep up the good work, awsome channel
Stevie fast has a really good video on taking apart a bolt together convertor and putting it back together. Watch it if you’d like some more knowledge on them!
I think Stevie Jackson has a video on disassembly of a torque converter and talks about that "O" ring. You're not the first, and certainly not the last to pinch one...Great video.
Race it, break it, fix it, repeat...that's what it's all about bro...i think you need a little less breaking though bro...😂 hopefully next time your day will go a lot better 💪🤜🤛
The converter has jacking screw bolt holes for you to use when you need to split it. Saves all the dents and burrs from hitting with hammer and driving bars into the split. :) :)
Will be interested to see if a stator change improves rotary flow and top end slip. If the converter flow across the stator is better directed from pump to turbine maybe. A lockup converter that can handle your power when properly tuned will limit top end slip. Stators typically controls vortex flow from the start. Vaseline on the seal will help hold it in place during install.
I'd be surprised if they used them. They know carbs well, and they're fast with them. If they were having engine management problems with the carb setup, maybe that would be an incentive to switch. But why mess with something that works?
@16:25,, we feel your pain Billy. The 'Vette was for sure on a pass and you hung pretty close without your full power. Next time eh,, next time. Chalk it up to "that's drag racing".
You’ll work it out, your dad is a very smart man, you’ll get. Perfection takes time, you’ll get it figured out. You boys are smart too, just saying, your dad is sharp.
You don't always need to be the fastest to win. Back the tune down and get things working consistently. Slap a few gopros on and under the truck so you can see what is happening. Great content. Nice editing.
Hey billy does your dad have a channel now I’d like to subscribe I believe Hughes used to be into mopars I believe back in the day explain is that for a clutch less transmission don’t laugh I know nothing about this first converter I seen come apart let alone a stator in it I’m thinking they were part of candies and Hughes maybe I’m wrong but I’m thinking so I guess that’s the deal with nitrous that will take out the head gaskets I love how you have progressed with this truck you and your dad are good at what you do
@11:47,, ",, when we were tapp'n it back together,," yessir, every time I had to "tap" an assembly back together something got hurt. Lessons learned,, IF it needs tapping something may not be quite right. Pull it apart and check,, verrrrry carefully, something isn't right. That hammer you guys have isn't a "dead blow" is it? A good one is a solid investment for your shop.
The Growing Pains of new combinations hate to see it for you guys but the truck really looked fast when it was making the pass on the new combo keep your head up you've been here before you guys will figure it out you always do God bless you guys the best racing channel out there
Buddy i also tune using a f.a.s.t. air fuel meter but it's super helpful at idle to keep plugs good but just a touch on the rich side, than I go of off exhaust temperature 1350 is building power 1500 is breaking parts on GAS 1000 to 1100 on meth or e85. When I glance at the A.F. meter ha, i just make sure it's fat otherwise only temps
...OR you can read the plugs, since that is the only way to know for sure what is going on in the chamber lol. Looking at generalized numbers may keep you in a safe area, that is IF every engine was the same, but it does nothing for power unless you have a true baseline... Not hatin' just sayin' lol.
You got one bad to the bone hot rod my friend love it..and i have one question is that a copper sealant that you spray on the head gaskets does it help it seal up better asking a question cuz I don't know
im going to say this every time i love the relationship you all have with each other and hope one day RUclips pays you for everything you guys surly deserve it.

Your editing style is one of a kind man. You film mini movies and i fucking love it! Keep up the great work and content gentlemen
Sorry, Billy. Luck's gotta change for the better cuz you're keeping after it. You made a lot of changes, and it'll sort out. Good luck, man.
4:12 Here comes your savior..
Pop..Whats going on..

If it wasn't for the bad days, the good days wouldn't seem so good. Just remember that.
Great way of looking at things!
It’s the truth
All about perspective!
It’s not the problem, it’s how you handle it. Keep up the good work.👍🏼
Love watching you guys YOUR Family is awesome and my 10 year old son loves your Trucks and we live not far from you

I never knew they made a bolt together converter i had to have mine cut, welded and rebalanced every time I blew my 4l65😂
One thing for sure the boys got one hell of a good dad, awesome channel an content, good to see Ohio boys have an awesome channel...
Keep your head up Billy! With the Highs come the lows and thats the way it always goes! Always Watching from Wichita!! S.R.C. is the Best! Thanks!!
I got to meet TTG at the track AND got my hands on a SRC truckers cap. I had a great time. 👍
Sorry for all your bad luck but things will definitely turn around and you'll start knocking them down again I love seeing you guys all your family everybody working in the shop together and that you show everything

RUclips University,
cheapest tuition out there.
Excellent video, keep em coming fellers...
Love the garage videos. Showing these kids what it’s really like working on car and the struggles🤘
In my opinion best video out yet! I just love the RAW video and the real world learning taking place. Keep it up guys !!!!

Bad luck man, but keep your head held up high, the Beast 10 will Rise above all once again! 💯
That belt always flaps around so much. We added a tensioner and idler pulley system to keep the belt on.
Hang in there Billy, you'll get it!!!
Stevie fast has a really good video on taking apart a bolt together convertor and putting it back together. Watch it if you’d like some more knowledge on them!
This is oh so true.. added a blower to my Rail and instantly busted the transmission... You gotta love this stuy
What did we ever do without RUclips? Still have our old Chiltons with tons of greasy finger prints in it.
All part of racing........ keep pushing and don’t stop 🏁
I think Stevie Jackson has a video on disassembly of a torque converter and talks about that "O" ring. You're not the first, and certainly not the last to pinch one...Great video.
That sucks hopefully you get it fixed I got faith in you I enjoy watching your channel
If it weren't fer bad luck you'd have no luck at all young man. Keep doing what you do and good things will come your way.
Race it, break it, fix it, repeat...that's what it's all about bro...i think you need a little less breaking though bro...😂 hopefully next time your day will go a lot better 💪🤜🤛
I really enjoy you doing what you do ,so keep it between the lines! And remember to have fun !
You guys are awesome I was wondering when Poppa was going to save the day. Just great channel and great family
Its the sport man fix, run, break repeat. No need to get down you got an awesome fam backing u. Get her fixed and destroy some more. 🤟
The converter has jacking screw bolt holes for you to use when you need to split it. Saves all the dents and burrs from hitting with hammer and driving bars into the split. :) :)
that green truck is a monster and i love how it rides the front up like an f body. super cool

Great work as always from the whole crew. You will get it lined out before to long.
Someone sponsor him some holley EFI and injectors already!
I'd be surprised if they used them. They know carbs well, and they're fast with them.
If they were having engine management problems with the carb setup, maybe that would be an incentive to switch. But why mess with something that works?
I agree. The old man knows how to dial in a carb and has done a great job so far. But the data alone if worth the price of admission.
@16:25,, we feel your pain Billy. The 'Vette was for sure on a pass and you hung pretty close without your full power. Next time eh,, next time. Chalk it up to "that's drag racing".

Nice video Billy, just like Tommy, I haven't taken one apart either, i basically been using disposable converters
Keep ur head up yall got one of the best channels on you tube u get it straight and flying again buddy hope u get it all sorted soon buddy
I hate to see you get heart broken like that man. Keep up the hard work. You'll get back in the groove. You have one hell of team!
Keep at it boys!!!
You got to get all the bugs out...
Cheers...
You don't always need to be the fastest to win. Back the tune down and get things working consistently. Slap a few gopros on and under the truck so you can see what is happening. Great content. Nice editing.
Shuda brought the good luck charm, ya girlfriend
100%
Shes the camera person guys.
I bet Pops has a favorite custom tuning screwdriver!
I keep my favorites in my special tools drawer.
@@theoldmansgarage I knew it haha! You're a good man Bill love your style...Keep on keeping on.
Hey billy does your dad have a channel now I’d like to subscribe I believe Hughes used to be into mopars I believe back in the day explain is that for a clutch less transmission don’t laugh I know nothing about this first converter I seen come apart let alone a stator in it I’m thinking they were part of candies and Hughes maybe I’m wrong but I’m thinking so I guess that’s the deal with nitrous that will take out the head gaskets I love how you have progressed with this truck you and your dad are good at what you do
Truck sounds awesome! Keep up the hard work, your luck will turn around! Another great video!
Keep your head up billy you got this!!!!!’

Always a good time a street racing channel baby
I hope I’m not the only one who goes skrrrrrrt in their head every-time he launches lol
Love you all for what y'all do. Much love and respect as always from Jersey
Exactly as your title says. keep your head up you got this bro....
Hope Things Get Better For You Guys!
Big Money bolt-together converter. THAT'S the way to go. I run a billet FTI but not a bolt together.
That green truck would of been hard to beat anyway..
Love the huge bluetooth speaker in the shop! Keep your chin up Billy things will turn around for you buddy!
Keep your head up.. tall are fast and deffently have a great family, / team..
24:02 Pops still knows how to "Pet the kitty"
EGT sensors work great for setting up methanol. Especially if you can data log your rpm with the sensors.
Thing is making a ton of power! Cant wait to see how it does when it lined out
Love the shot of the condensation on the intake manifold. Gotta love methanol👍
Good lesson fellas... Never wish for a shorter shaft
Keep up the hard work. It’ll pay off soon!

Hang in there man, it'll come back to you stronger than ever.
This channel is definitely addictive, I get twitchy after going a little while without a video. 😝
You got one bad to the bone hot rod my friend love it..and i have one question is that a copper sealant that you spray on the head gaskets does it help it seal up better asking a question cuz I don't know
The copper shit does help seal dad swore by it after awhile u see on your spark plugs is that bad i dont know
@4:12 How i feel when i need an extra pair of hands and pops walks in! love from SOCAL!
I’m loving watching your videos boys and girl I’m from Canada u don’t see many old S10 on the roads any more love you guys send it
Ya Too much salt and snow around here
Tough break Billy, you'll get all these bugs worked out soon. Then those boys and girls at the track better watch out!!!
When you watching a video for working on race cars and you see them watching a video on how to fix a race car part. 😁I'm not the only one. It works!
Love your editing action packed
That green square body stepside got the weirdest stance but it goes
Don´t be afraid guys....You have The Best Dad Ever!!!! #ChevyDadFixThemAllProblems
I can’t for the life that of me understand why people would dislike your videos
Must be the Mask Police..
