I don’t think it’s relevant comparing the cybertruck to any other vehicle ICE or BEV or in fact to any other vehicle. Tesla has created a unique and new category. Would be interesting to see the results of the survey of cyber truck buyers and what percentage of them are actually swapping out from a truck?

Tesla sold half a million cars in 2020 and nearly 2m cars in 2023. That's not growth to you? Ouch. Yes time for you to go buy nVidia instead.

high interest is affecting all vehicle sale, if you haven't heard, Tesla still has an average price of $45k, which is limited to the smaller addressable market size, worsen by the high interest rate environment. You know, a loan is harder to be approved.
@@nguyep4 Elon has already said he is prepared to drop his margins to zero if necessary to keep growing. Economies of scale are crucial to keeping those prices low.
Tesla currently offers financing of under 2% to counter the high interest rates. They can always throw in other incentives like free Supercharging. I'm sure they will keep fighting to maintain their position.

@@philliptemple9841 Dropping prices to gain market share sounds good but the impact to the used market has been devastating. Who wants to buy a vehicle that is expensive to insure and repair and looses damn near 30% in year one? You also cheapen your brand in the process. In addition, the general consensus, at least in the US, is that people don’t want EV’s. Those that did already have purchased. Tesla’s answer is to introduce stripped down versions of the Y and 3. Good luck with that. To top it all off, you have a polarizing individual running the company that feels the need to express his opinions under the guise of free speech! This is all well and good as long as you don’t criticize him or his point of view. That’s a whole other topic. However, it absolutely has affected Tesla in a negative way and Musk could care less about investors or his company’s stock price. As a shareholder since 2019, I find his lack of regard for shareholders, which by the way is his primary responsibility, very troubling and arrogant. For me, Tesla has fundamentally changed for the worse and I’ve started to slowing reduce my exposure to this company.
You may feel differently and that is absolutely okay. We all have to do what we feel is fair and in our own best interest.
