      They truly are an amazing and devoted team! It's remarkable the positive impact this sweet little hippo bloat is having on the world. I feel blessed to witness it.

    Such a wonderful family to watch and fall in love with. Mama Bibi doesn't take her eyes off of Fritz. He is such a character, always ready to entertain us and his family. Great video! I envy ppl that can be there to enjoy everything the Cincinnati zoo has to offer. Thanks for sharing 💜✨🦛🦛🐾🦛🦛💜 We love you ♥️

    Nice to see Bibi being chill for once with Fiona. Was really starting to worry about our poor girl if she was still getting attention from her mom

    • @mnomadvfx
      @mnomadvfx Год назад +1

      It's not a problem of attention.
      Older siblings can sometimes be dangerous to hippo babies, either from too much too soon, or just plain violence, so Bibi acting squirrely around everyone is completely natural until Fritz is big enough and/or she is satisfied with their behavior around Fritz.
      Notice even Tucker is at a very respectful distance from them.

    Wonder what their combined weight is ? Fiona is quite tiny against her massive family ! Nice to see they are happily sheltered and fed and given toys. Yes, they are happy hippos. The zoo keepers are doing a great job.🤗🤗

    At 2:55 that's likely dad Tucker on the left, Fiona entering the cove on the right and little Fritz and Bibi still in the water. Amazing after almost six years Fiona isn't fully grown yet and is still smaller than her mom Bibi.
    All that crowd noise isn't doing those beautiful hippos any good. They need to limit how many are in there at once (I had to turn the sound off !)
    Seeing little Fritz love on his big sister is so cute. Dad Tucker just seems to back away and chill.

  • @erinlockhart1329

    It's so wonderful to see the hippos. Have you ever thought that all that noise from people in the background gets frustrating for them? Is there ever a quite time besides when they sleep at night? Listening to all the talking while watching this video is a lot, I can only imagine what the hippos go thru. Besides that your a great zoo and take great care of your animals there.

    It would have been better to give these hippos names from their point if origin instead of western names. It would have been
    more authentic. That is why China gives their pandas Mandorin names before they leave China.

    • @muffs55mercury61

      One of the males, probably Tucker, will have to be moved as two grown male hippos will fight for territory and the keepers won't be able to defuse a dangerous situation like that. With Fritz being little, probably no problems for the time being but that will likely change.

    • @ezioaltairac
      @ezioaltairac Год назад +1

      Fritz is leaving when he gets older. They said the bloat dynamics only allow for one male, and his dad already moved once to this zoo.

      @@ezioaltairac Yep him and dad will fight for territorial and mating rights so one will have to go when Fritz gets older. It was actually touch and go at the beginning. Father hippos won't usually harm their own but there's always the chance that they will as males kill other baby males.
