My old stomping grounds are around the Kennedy Space Center. My favorite locations in that area were Viera Wetlands, Blackpoint Road and a local park on the inter coastal waterway in Palm Bay where the birds were so used to you they were beyond easy to photograph. If all else fails good cheating locations are Gatorland in Orlando are and the zoo in St Augustine. Have great fun!
Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge on the east coast near the Kennedy Space Center is great for birding. On the west coast check out Three Sisters Spring in Crystal River for the manatees and wood storks you like in King's Bay. Keep warm!
Enjoy your exciting adventures...glad you safely made it south...looking forward to seeing all the wildlife you photographed. Happy Holidays...see you in January at the Hunt's workshop.
Exactly why I switched from FF to MFT. My wife and I travel a lot in our camper van (also a Transit btw), and after we load whatever other toys we’re taking- bikes, skis, inflatable kayak- there’s not much space left. A couple full frame bodies, lenses for birds and landscapes, and a hefty tripod takes up a lot of room. My current MFT setup is half the weight, and takes up less than half the space, while giving me equivalent reach. Enjoy the wildlife.
Near freezing temps are relatively warm compared to today this little cold snap in NH. The past few winters I get the urge to go to FL or the southwest for a while. Safe travels!
Looks like you are having a great trip. I just got back from a week plus a trip to Florida. We must have travel south through the same storm. I was in the Smoky Mountains Nation Park during the storm. The Florida Wildlife places I like this time of year are: 1. Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge . 2. Orlando Wetlands Park. 3. Sebastian Inlet State Park. 4. Rich Grissom Wetlands Park. 5. Circle B Ranch Park. 6. Everglades Nation Park. Then there is always Gatorland and Alligator Farm. E-Bird and the Florida Birding Trails are good internet sources of information. Wishing you a happy trip.
brrrrr!!! but at least there is sunshine, long may that last and I hope you manage to absorb some of it to warm up. Nightmare drive though, I think I prefer driving in snow as opposed to fog, I hate driving in that as I get very disoriented especially when it's dark. Let's hope you get a better return journey once you start back homewards, til then I hope you both have a grand road trip. Will look forward to some piccies in later uploads. Thanks for all your videos thus far, take care and have a very Merry Christmas/festive season, all the best for 2025 too.
Thank you so much. At least we tested the van in all weather now ahah. Hopefully the trip back will be better. Merry Christmas to you too. And yes I will post pictures soon. I actually broke my phone so having limited access to Instagram and sky blue but will have new pictures in my next video.
@@EmilieT ahaaaa! there is a reason that maybe your phone broke.....this means a complete break, no socials, folks can have the anticipation can't they!? I dare you!
