This video has one of the guys state that when processing, the model is the base, not the wax. That guy needs to be corrected. The flasking causes a space to exist between the stone and that stone is formed around the wax. So in fact, the wax DOES affect the processing of the base. You festoon and stipple the wax for a reason, because the wax DOES affect the stone poured into the flask. Then the acrylic is formed between both sides of the flask in the space where the wax existed. So that guy is in error.
Hi, I just did my impressions yesterday for digital dentures. I had two pairs of the traditional type in One year. The dentist at the time could not make a set to fit. I got my money back and found a new dentist. I want to know if the plates are thinner ? The traditional dentures plates were so thick, and felt like I was choking. I live in Baltimore and with my Delta Dental USA plan ,I am paying $1,700.00 total for both upper and lower . Best Wishes
Frankly, 90+% of dentures don’t ever fit well, you lose sense of taste from covering the pallet on the upper and they will move around when functioning and or speaking. If patients are not explained these problems before getting the dentures they tend to be very disappointed. If the conversation happened prior to delivery, patients generally do much better. If not explained properly, patients expect something much closer to their old natural teeth. The digital denture should fit better than the traditional denture. That said, much of this depends on the dentist and lab that do the work. The thickness issue is not related to either digital or analog. You should ask for “THIN” dentures. But be aware that thin dentures are not as strong.
