I really think El-p is Killer Mike’s biggest fan. Like he just sits there smiling and you can tell he’s thinking “I am so lucky this dude loves my beats as much as I love his flow”.
That's so funny cuz Mike always talks about how he's el-p's biggest fan and how much he loves his beats as much as his flows haha they are always at their best together.
man EL-P is so ahead of our time. his lyrics are so deep his flow is so refreshing, and his beats are on a whole other level. and killer mike has such a great voice and his lyrics are more direct and in your face than with EL-P and i like that about him. Man i'm glad they became a rap duo
dued27 Well i used to be a hip hop fan only but slowly i was getting into rock and metal and i love every kind of music as long as it's good music doesnt matter if its blues, rock, metal, pop, but hip hop is propably still my favorite genre.
For the last fucking time. FREESTYLE DOES NOT MEAN OFF THE DOME. Freestyle simply means you are rapping over a random beat with any given type of flow. The lyrics can be written, and mostly are.
Mmezi Nwogu freestyle can have improvised lyrics or not, but the STYLE is FREE. Meaning that the flow over the beat is improvised, spontaneous ly coming up with rhymes is optional when freestyling, and generally links written portions of lyrics together.
When you can write like El-P, why would you even bother learning to freestyle? And even if you could, why would you bother employing it on the radio when you're only on the radio to sell albums? Might as well spit shit that you know will go well. I'm 35 and i never got why people got so mad about freestyling. or authenticity in general.
Half true. Its about the speed and versatility of the mind. How quickly your mind can react to the changing situation and the creativity capabilities of the more complex functions of the human brain. If your pretending it is that while its scripted you're a fake and deceitful not in the worst way but still and does not display the aforementioned attributes. Thats why.
praxis veritatis agreed man. But I also don’t necessarily like freestyles if they’re corny.. talk about what’s going on in those dark corners or the bright corners of your mind.. if you can’t that’s cool. And don’t. Rap a song you wrote. All good. But just be fucking honest about it
@Adapted MC No! Em might have watched this freestyle but the original one is from JJ Fad - Supersonic at the last 30 seconds of the song. Em says the name of the song and the band right before the line in Rap God to pay homage, he says "lyrics comic at you with supersonic speed JJ Fad", JJ Fad(a band of girl rappers) was one of the first to come up with this fast flow, that now has a total genre of rappers called Choppers, check out one of JJ Fad MC-s doing the fast part on rap god /watch?v=-luDgk8IshI
LPs verse obviously written right off the bat but I love how mike is just so high and loving it that he sells out his boy, finishes verses and shit then straight up says "LP flexes with a written" I was gonna do it do one too but "fuck that lemme feel these vibes out" lol love these guys, this comment could go on forever and probably no one will see it but I'm so happy I heard this. and the chat at the end when they get real and give the love to sway is super cool, he a real one, he takes chances and sway says "our heart is in the right place" also he says "y'all are my friends, I know we don't send texts on the holidays n shit but we homies" obviously I'm paraphrasing btw for all the haters of anyone does end up reading this but this is why hip hop still exists right here man. I'm clearly ranting now and making no sense I'm sure (10 beers deep, honestly is key) but run the jewels and sway in the morning are TRUE HIP HOP/RAP whatever you wanna classify it as, they are why I love poetry mixed with a beat or a rhythm and just straight passion. the love is real, and I wish I had the balls to do what they do. mike straight up spit off the top and cut the beat (which I usually don't like)but he was so raw and real with it you can't hate. anyways if anyone out there cares to read this, hmu for real and I'll give you a freestyle, clearly I'm not a bot tryna promote my shit, just a shy guy who has bars and passion and lyricism hidden inside him. like I said them even being there is crazy to me, so nervracking but I also hope to God (not that I really believe)that someone read this ramble and shouts me out because I'll surprise myself and best of all I'll surprise you, promise I won't waste your time. insta: @cam_richardson9 p.s by the time I finished this I sobered up and almost didn't hit send lmao E.L.E shout out Jackie moon, ok that's enough I already regret this but look forward to a random message🤔😂🤦♂️
There's a lot of talk about El-P compared to Eminem for obvious reasons, the most significant being their individual talent. While the New York upbringing definitely had the one-upmanship Eminem is notorious is for; It's oranges and apples. As far as who's better: Their styles and approaches are so different on a fundamental artistic level that it's hard to compare the two. Eminem can be shocking sometimes at how long he's able to sustain a flow and turn a phrase, El-P taps into something that makes him fun to listen to (after so many interviews I guess it's the New York aspect). They're both legends in their own right, but they're not the same artist which is ultimately a good thing when it comes to getting as many voices heard as possible. Compare El-P's relationship with his mother versus Eminem for instance, just as the first example to come to mind.
El-P one of the best rapper, producers of all time. I remember hearing Killer Mike on an Outkast song from Stankonia.. Originally seem like a bit of an odd couple but glad they hooked up and got that next level respect they werent entirely getting before..
Killer Mike and El-P are like the greatest combination ever. What happened to SL Jones? I'd slap babies in the street to get an album full of Killer, El-P and SL Jones on top of EL-P beats
If you haven't found the verse since posting this, it's from the song that he featured on in Mike's album RAP Music. I believe it's called butane. Better late than never I guess. 🤷🏽♂️
Most rappers do writtens on these type of radio shows, when they don't have a written you can usually tell and it's never as good. Freestyling is hard kiddies even the pro's have to have a few rhymes in mind.
Fuck if it's a written. I'd rather hear a written with dope ass bars spat in a creative flow than some dude rhyme random words like Riff Raff (However what riff raff does takes hella talent too lol.)
Anyone looking for another dope freestyle with raw lyrics and ill rhyming? If so I guarantee this will be the hottest thing you'll heard today... /sHVteIGcSM8
Yeah, I'd rather hear him mubmble off the top of his head then a pre written verse thats actually dope Rhymes you take time to write >>>>>. Trying to go off the top of the head and sounding like shit Only cats I wanna hear freestyle are dudes like Supernat, Dizaster & JUICE...... otherwise, regular MC's who make records sound like shit trying to do it 99% of the time
Run the jewels is sick. But what i really want is either company flow back for at least one last album OR and album thats run the jewels vs company flow. I think that would be fucking sick
well a freestyle shouldnt be written buddy, it should be an unorganized flow to spit words including rhymes, when someone next to you starts to recite your rhymes its not a freestyle, its written if not all written its almost all written, yea i was born in the 90's, does that mean i dont know about music? SMH, judging gets you judged homie, my point is a freestyle should be of the top, just dozing off with intelligent with rhymes that connect
theres a video on youtube where it's just a little street cypher with slug, iimmortal tech, aesop, and some other heads. ELP kills it and I am fairly positive it's not written.
lol, Killer Mike looks hilarious straight up cheesin' while el is spittin
+Edward Polenzani almost lost his shit when El spilled that drink
You know they're both high as shit behind those glasses
haha he knocked his cup over
Pick it up, Redman
Lol neither one can freestyle worth a nickel
"Cut the beat."
*Proceeds as Clipping.*
*playground ambiance with plates breaking*

I just gotta say that I appreciate that you are a metalhead that is also a Rap music enthusiast! Great music is great music.
dued27 Well i used to be a hip hop fan only but slowly i was getting into rock and metal and i love every kind of music as long as it's good music doesnt matter if its blues, rock, metal, pop, but hip hop is propably still my favorite genre.
Metal is my favorite genre but I have been really getting into hip hop for the past few years. haha!

Lol fuck you mean ahead of our time
Company flow was dope..

No man. Its just the words. BTW El-P used a verse off of Mike's album, so does that count as freestyle?
Mmezi Nwogu yeah it does, because it wasn't over the original beat.
Exactly! I hate how many times I have to tell people this..Idiots everywhere, yo.
That was great guys!
Not just the spit, but everything, the respect is seen from all sides,
good stuff.
Killer Mike was sayin' "pause" when "no homo" was still popular
Back in the Old School, Freestyle actually IMPLIED written, by the way....
Word!
Wtf? Nah. It was supposed to be off the head... bullshit
SenatoR gittRduN no it was a freestyle because it was free of style not because it’s off the top.
as long as it was your bars, you could spit whatever you wanted. nobody cares if you used the same bars every time
Alex Blue V bullshit. It meant of the top of the dome.
When you can write like El-P, why would you even bother learning to freestyle?

praxis veritatis you are very smart.
praxis veritatis agreed man. But I also don’t necessarily like freestyles if they’re corny.. talk about what’s going on in those dark corners or the bright corners of your mind.. if you can’t that’s cool. And don’t. Rap a song you wrote. All good. But just be fucking honest about it
I'll take a decent written over a freestyle any day
Killer mike killed it, but damn i wish he'd done something over Last Dayz
I didn't know el p was white
Marcus N. ....
Ying and Yang
Hahaha whoa
@@sumwonkool what are you doing on my 3 year old comment thread lol
Didn't know killer Mike was black
Killer Mike and Jarren Benten should do a collaboration
jfhjgfjhgfghhgjhgjhgc 💯that would be so dope
Alan Santiago that would be too great to actually happen, unfortunately...
2:26 he did it before tha rap god did it!
@Adapted MC No! Em might have watched this freestyle but the original one is from JJ Fad - Supersonic at the last 30 seconds of the song. Get you someone that looks at killer Mike like EL-p
awesome how much love these guys have for each other. get RTJ back on sway guys..
Ay reporting from 8 years later, he just had Killer Mike on to discuss his new album and it was great.
Knocked cup over, still killed it. LMao
Clearly the most underrated MC’s period....
El and Mike are awesome together I can't believe they actually got together at that time
Fuck what's that second beat that they had playin?? I know that shit!
not sure what song it's from, but im pretty sure its a beat they used in one of the 8 mile rap battles. not 100% sure though
I found it, it's Last Dayz by Onyx
Redman - smoke buddah
+Superultradude123 I heard that Onyx track, but on the real, I'm pretty sure that 9th Wonder produced it. Check out "Phonte - Last Day / First Day"
+Superultradude123 No idea which came first though, but I will say it sounds an awful lot like a 9th beat.

EL-P just murders the sweet lil beat
There's a lot of talk about El-P compared to Eminem for obvious reasons, the most significant being their individual talent. Ye, Him, & Madlib/Quasimoto
Also Q-Tip, RZA, & Dre
Jacob Denise
Yes to all those.. RZA and El-P are probably my favorite producers of all time..
They got put together because of a guy from a. Executive producer on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. And thankfully, it stuck.
Snappin and trappin

These two dudes are hip hop idols!

If you haven't found the verse since posting this, it's from the song that he featured on in Mike's album RAP Music. I believe it's called butane. Better late than never I guess. 🤷🏽♂️
Mike's flow on this was something else
Most rappers do writtens on these type of radio shows, when they don't have a written you can usually tell and it's never as good. Freestyling is hard kiddies even the pro's have to have a few rhymes in mind.
So unbelievably talented.
Killer Mike did a written too, but it was still amazing.

Fuck if it's a written. I'd rather hear a written with dope ass bars spat in a creative flow than some dude rhyme random words like Riff Raff (However what riff raff does takes hella talent too lol.)
ELP can free, kids. Look him up. Just because he did a written for this doesn't mean shit
Killer Mike's was on R.A.P. Music too, it's Ok!
Both were good but to me it seemed EL-P was just a tad faster than the beat
Mike fucking killed that shit lol I don’t care if it was a written

killer mike is wack, he is just talking the same things thats on the radio, flow is cool and fast and rhymes but no real lyrics
5 years later and you still sound stupid
Oh lol I said that before they said it was written nevermind
You people are aware they not every freestyle has to be right of the top of your head right? Legends like Eminem have done it.
A freestyle doesn't technically have to bee off the dome you idiot.
El p changed the game fr fr
Killer Miker looks like Stevie Wonder!
Mikes the best of all time.
