I met Leo in Brazil, almost 10 years ago. We spoke about music and culture for almost an hour. He signed my CDs and took pictures. On top of being one of the best drummers I know, he's humble and he cares. What a fantastic person.
I just started learning drums and Pain of Salvation are my all time favorite band. These videos are amazing. Please if you make more would you consider doing Beyond the Pale? I'd love to see your style compared to Johan!
Loving these playthroughs. I struggle to write for drums when recording demos, so these give me more of an idea of how to make it flow. Hope there's more of these to come! Maybe Used or Fandango next? 😛
dang man.. you're making not only Langell proud, but also us all Pain of Salvation fans thank you for still being in the band so far lol so many line-up changes :D
SUPER weird, man. It has some of my favorite POS moments, but it's hard for me to recommend it to people because it shifts so constantly. Just rewatched the DVD last night. so amazing
@Leo, were you familiar with the old songs from PoS before becoming a member? (it looks very natural like if you knew them for years). I wonder if you had to listen to them for the first time right before entering the band, that would have been too much information at once! Haha
@@LeoMargarit1 Thanks for answering! It makes me happy that you're that accessible to fans :) If it's not asking much, I'd really love a playthrough over Keen to a Fault. I think the last verse has one of the best Snare/BDrum lines in PoS. You rock!
It’s just a preference some people have. There are some minor differences in rebound and response. It gives the stick a little more durability and power on the attack, but it’s less precise and a little cruder especially on cymbals (which is where you see him mostly switch back to a normal hold).
ayayayay!!!! There is missing the coolest hi-hat thing right here ruclips.net/video/94J7R5jhDVo/видео.html I've always loved that ta-ta-ta-ta thing by Johan!!! Nice job though! Great track and awesome riff!
The entire Be album is a masterpiece
My favourite PoS album.
@@franciscopoltronierijunior4556 Me too
A very underrated drummer
Indeed!
Gonna say unknown rather than underrated

Just Awesome Leo🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Talked to this guy when they came to Argentina. Super humble, astonishing drummer.

Might be one of the best PoS songs ever.
Normal drummers: check out this cool 4/4 groove
Leo: check out this 3.14/7 groove with some 69/53 that goes to 7/8 and finishes in 23/16
I can't BElieve it!!! This is one of my favourite PoS song of ever. Thank you for this surprise!
Year 2021 7.9 billion people
and God, this album is the best
"We were stuck in this world of change
Expecting it to remain
Now nothing is left unstained!"
Chills you to the bone this song... great job Léo!!!!!
O Leo tocando faz parecer tão fácil manter essas músicas que ele escolhe sob controle...
YEEEEES! One of my favorite BE tracks!
I travelled to Eskilstuna with a couple of friends back in 2003 to watch it live!!
Amazing experience 💛

Leo is incredible here. Amazing limb independence.
Must be one of the smoothest drummers out there. So controlled and fluent. I want to see a drum battle vs Baard 😜
I came for 2:47, that pedal is a masterpiece
For sure Johan is really proud! You nailed it, Leo! 🤘🏽🤘🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Incrível!
Awesome!!
Amazing performance
Nice song, old-school Pain of Salvation! All instruments and drums work great as expressive means of the music!
Как же я обожаю BE! Шедевр шедевров!
Great choice! Love this one. Léo is amazing :)
3:40 reminds me so much of DT's the great debate!
Yeah!! Always loved the drums in this song, very nice this upload!!
This man is a beast🥁
What a weird and welcome surprise.
Love this song.
Oh, Leo. Great professional

Again, great drumming by Leo!
Cool drumming no showoffs. Can't hear the cymbals enough

great mix!
This is just too good.
Love his work. O Groove dessa música é um dos mais marcantes do BE. Tão simples e tão ininteligível!
So incredible!!! 👍💪🤘
monster !
One of the best PoS songs
I would like to put 100 like. Amazing drummer
Fantastic as always!
AMAZING!
Amazing job as usual Leo!!!!
This is my favorite track from "BE" and you did it justice, Leo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Prettt fucking great! Love these videos you do for both new and old songs
BE was a weird album but I loved it
"BE" is by far my favorite Pain of Salvation album, it has a so interesting concept...
SUPER weird, man. It has some of my favorite POS moments, but it's hard for me to recommend it to people because it shifts so constantly. Just rewatched the DVD last night. so amazing

I was a fan when I joined the band, so while I hadn’t played the songs I knew most of them pretty well already :)

@@David_Lake I've just recorded it actually, so keep an eye open on my channel, it'll be up in a few days :)
💜
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What's the hardest song from before you joined to play?
Hard to say but this is one of the hardest, maybe not technically but the rhythms are really difficult to play well!
I noticed that the stick in his left hand is used downside up for a good portion of the song, is this some secret technique?
It’s just a preference some people have. There are some minor differences in rebound and response. It gives the stick a little more durability and power on the attack, but it’s less precise and a little cruder especially on cymbals (which is where you see him mostly switch back to a normal hold).
👍👍🔥🔥
Hey guys, the first link in the description, (apparently Re-issue?) isn't working.
The first link of POS website: "No page with this URL exists.", can you correct the link?
3:40 I have to know if this is as impressive as it looks/sounds
This is super easy actually :)
Was the original version played to a click? I can definitely tell this one is.
I’m playing over the original and I made a click that follows its fluctuations. So it’s going up and down a few bpm’s here and there.
Where os the Spiral Drum from Neil Peart?
F a n t a s t i c
Fuck yes Leo!
Fucking great!
3:23 and 4:07 are fucking bonkers man
Sooooo, this means we are getting a re-issue of BE, right?? AND IT WILL *BE* FINALLY ON VINYL, RIGHTTTT??????
I understand your anger, but BE patient, BE's 20th anniversary remains the same year. I hope as well tho
@@bakalaudia5620 I've looked into their FB page and indeed, THEY ARE RELEASING IT ON VINYL ON APRIL 30!!!

Absolutely weird tempos that Pain of Salvation always did with maestry
First 🤪
Tristonho
Nice snare tone but so dry..

Please put the correct end of the stick in your left hand
un manque de style typiquement français :D
