I made your chocolate buttercream with a chocolate fudge cake, I ended up not needing all of the milk following your advice was the best ever. I used my kitchen aid and the recipe was flawless so creamy and rich my dad and relatives demolished that cake. Thank you for sharing your recipe I'm happy to subscribe. I took a picture too.
this video helped me immensely! I have watched countless videos where the baker uses so many more gadgets and tools. This was wonderful! I was able to make a great looking cake with this frosting technique. Thanks for the tip about the upside down plate.I have since purchased a turntable but the plate worked very well! Thank you!!
Definitely invest in a mixer, even a good hand mixer (because Kitchen Aid mixers are hundreds of dollars, although well worth the cost), or ask for a mixer as a gift. A mixer definitely helps beat things better, like frostings!
Noor-Ul-Ain Zafar yes. In the UK we melt dark chocolate (high percentage of cocoa solids) and add. Less milk is required to soften the mixture too as the melted choc adds moisture.
Thank you so very much for such simple yet tasty recipes on how to bake a chocolate cake ( and chocolate icing). I have always wanted learn bake a chocolate cake. It came out decilious!
Wow i found now the best frosting i need, after seeing all other videos your frosting technique is the best for me. So easy to make and i love it. Trying this for my next baking sched. God bless! 😍
I realy enjoy learning with cupcakesandCardio...not only easy to understand but also, it definitely turns nice when i tried to made it with my students...thanks
I just used this recipe, but I didn't have milk. I used a couple teaspoons of hot coffee. I have it in the frezzer to set a little, but I did taste and the coffe was an amazing substitute. It really brought out the chocolate flavor in the cocoa powder.
If you don't have vanilla extract, you can use the seeds from a vanilla pod. If you have vanilla essence, you can use it, you will just need more, as it is a manufactured product, while pure vanilla extract is made from vanilla beans.
You need to apply a crumb coat (thin initial layer), which catches all the crumbs. Freeze it with the thin layer, and then apply the final coat, which will be crumb free.
The butter gives the cake some flavour...but in the icing, you can substitute margarine, or shortening if you prefer. But like I said, it provides some flavour.
If your buttercream is too stiff, it is likely a liquid problem....you should try adding more milk, one tablespoon at time until you get a consistency that is spreadable.
I finally did this chocolate buttercream and it was soooo sooo delicious xD...thank u for showing us how to make this delicious chocolate buttercream ...:)
You could try...it just won't be as strongly chocolate flavoured as it would be with cocoa. Also, you'll need to watch the liquid amounts as the sauce will make it more runny.
you can also cut squares of wax paper and tuck them around and underneath your cake from when you get frosting on the plate ...when all finished just gently slide wax pieces away and cake plate is clean and beautiful! hope this helps!
The sugar isn't meant to dissolve, as there is no liquid in the mix that would cause it to do so. If you are using icing sugar, and mixing it with the butter small amounts at a time, you should have no problem incorporating the sugar and butter to make buttercream.
cheryl valentine I made it too but idk why I can crunch out the sugar out of it.. it got really grainy and it happens to me every time I try to make frosting.. any help?
Sara Radwan it could be the brand of sugar you're using? I find that beet sugar gives a grainy texture and i make sure the ingredients say pure sugar or cane sugar.
I found that it was easier to frost cake when the cake was frozen , and I had done the frosting a couple days ahead of time as it was hard as a rock from being in the fridge so I put it in the microwave for less then 40 sec and whipped it again it worked but the frosting hardened fast , which worked for me cause I was able to pour Ganache over it right after the Ganache was cooled down , however this way looks way better thanks for the tip

it will cover a standard cake (8"-9") lightly, and a 6" substantially
Hi there, I have actually never tried chocolate buttercream with red velvet. I usually use Cream Cheese frosting and it is delicious!
I'll take a slice thanks! ;) I seriously need to get one of those mixers .. I'm still using an old hand held one!
Definitely! We think it makes the cake taste better and stay moist.
I love the way u explain the way to make cake
Made your icing yesterday to pipe on mini-cupcakes and it was wonderful!! Didn't change a thing except I used a hand mixer. Thank you!!
what changes do i have to make to the amounts of the other ingredients for 2 cups of icing sugar?
Azkaee Vishah just use 80g of Butter a little less of milk and like 25g of cocoa
This recipe is the best chocolate frosting ever. I used it for my aunts birthday cake I made her and it was a big hit.🍰🍰🍰
i have tried the cake recipe..but I do not have a mixer to make that wonderful frosting
Definitely invest in a mixer, even a good hand mixer (because Kitchen Aid mixers are hundreds of dollars, although well worth the cost), or ask for a mixer as a gift. A mixer definitely helps beat things better, like frostings!
Use some hand beaters. It's basically the same
yum! that sounds like a great addition :) thanks to you for watching!
Can I add strrawberries to this buttercream ? Will the two flavours be good together?

Hey there!
Instead of cocoa powder can I melt a chocolate and use??
Noor-Ul-Ain Zafar yes. In the UK we melt dark chocolate (high percentage of cocoa solids) and add. Less milk is required to soften the mixture too as the melted choc adds moisture.
I have never loved anyone enough to put this much effort into making them a cake.
Is it ok to use the Hershey cocoa powder?is it the same?
Miguel vidal Yes, it should be the same thing...just a brand name.

Sara Radwan it could be the brand of sugar you're using? I find that beet sugar gives a grainy texture and i make sure the ingredients say pure sugar or cane sugar.
josefina lopez it’s good

Loved your way of explaining 👍incase if don't have butter then what is the alternative?
The best way to find out is to try!
Yes, it should be.
Pre-heating the oven means to turn it on ahead of time, so that when you put your cake into the oven, it is already at the correct temperature.
WOW THAT LOOK GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great! Glad to be of help!
Chocolate is best used as a base for brown or black icing.
