    I was fortunate to catch b b king about 15 years ago at a bar in Melbourne Australia. let me tell you that he was fantastic. Thx Marty.

      I saw him twice. Once in Hawaii Honolulu Hilton in 95 or 96 and then once in Mansfield MA. in 2006. Was always great

      I don't know . . . there's this guy in New Delhi that teaches metal sitar and he averages 700,000 "shrankas" (thumbs up) per video on HinduTube. He's known as the "Marty Schwartz of India." Ha ha. Yeah, you gotta love Marty Schwartz.

    Thanks Marty, spent a good 3 hrs with this video, pausing it frequently just to practice and improvise with the newfound knowledge each minute brought. Been a follower for 2 yrs now, and I find that regardless of the level of the lesson, I always come away with insight and ideas.

    bought a guitar after hearing aerosmith
    then i heard led zeppelin and wanted to sound like them, i even took the pickup cover off the bridge pickup of my les paul so i could be like jimmy page
    then i heard the white stripes desecrating the blues and i loved it
    then i fell in love with delta blues after hearing son house
    after all this i ended up sounding like bb king
    life is strange

      Parents got me my first guitar @ 14. Started on Dave Matthews and some Zeppelin.
      My dad took me to see Clapton when I was 15.
      I started to notice on my Clapton CD that he was covering a lot of artists..
      Researched those artists.
      Been playing blues for 18 years.

      Ive lissed to many Delta , stLouis and Chicago Blues players .. But I have to say we differ on thought process .. on Son House , . not top of the Blues chain for sure .. Look up Blind lemmon Jefferson ..

    Ok, I know I've messed around with this some, but this was/is an awesome lesson!!! I'm seeing overlap of the major/minor pentatonics in every position now and I ran back across this. It's a perfect example of that. Also, the connection to the extended pentatonic scale. I need to transfer these licks to them to extend possibilities, but wow, such great material and licks here. Thank you, Marty for all you do!

    Great lesson Marty. Really great way to put together the BB Box with the minor pentatonic scale. I recall seeing another old lesson of yours discussing moving from major to minor in a typical 12 bar blues progression which really ties this all together for me. Thanks again.
