Thank you for sharing your insights. It is really helpful to know what the hardware requirements are. I need to set up a self hosted instance of Mautic and need all the information I can get. I am looking into scalability (horizontal and vertical), monitoring, security, integration, bottlenecks and other best practices that I should be aware of. I'll keep digging.

Thank you for your kind words. Sorry for the slow response. I have reached out to many community members and I really do think for self-hosted we need to find a forum to really agree on a bunch of best practices.
Love the Mautic team but I find the documentation tough to parse and the have often learned things the hard way a few times. I trust Yosu at mauteam.org/ but I tend to share his opinions on some of the direction the team has taken. I have moved to hosting on AWS completely for mautic and that has made me much more efficient. It has also made me start working on an AWS Architect Associate Cert. I may come back at this channel hard when I write that in the next couple of months.

@@KevinRundle Thanks for getting back to me. I do find that it is challenging to get self-hosted documentation as well. The Mautic team have put together a repo with a Docker container so I will take it from there and see how it goes. All the best with AWS :) I can't wait to hear more of what you have learned. Thanks for your videos. They rock!

Hello Kevin. I have simple question. I instálled Mautic on Digitalocean but that world is like working blind for a non techy person. It looks easier with cpannel. ¿If i start with the shared host, is it easy to move latter to a vps? And ¿is easier to make like daily back ups?

So at this point I would never suggest you move to shared hosting.
Mautic at some point will require an intervention that will likely be impossible from a shared host account.
If you are already on digital ocean I would stay put.

@@KevinRundle Yes everything is working very nice now. But I had to install all the droplet and Mautic from the beginning twice because suddenly I couldn't get in, ''The site is currently offline due to encountering an error''. and I could not find any solution. This is the third time I installed it and is working fine. But I don't know when that is going to happen again. ¿how can I make a back up without panel, so I'm able to restore it again? while I move to a VPS with panel like A2hosting. thank you for the time

    Hey,
    Hope you are all safe.
I wanted to know if we can self host mautic on hostinger cloud hosting where my website is also hosted or do I need a separate hosting for this purpose. My goal is to minimize the cost as possible.
I expect to have around 5500 contacts sending email newsletter weekly along with the woocommerce transactional emails & some automated targeting emails.
I am not from a technical background.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you in anticipation

If you don't have school access I would avoid installing mautic on the server.

This is the best video bcz it simply answers my question. What if I use It With Amazon SES For Mailing?
Will it generate the same load on my Hosting?

When sending bia Amazon SES I don't think there is any major advantage given to any specific hosting.
Just make sure your Cron jobs are running using the same version of PHP as you Mautic instance.

@Dev Guy It appears I did. I think I meant via but I mean when sending bia.

@@KevinRundle When sending via Amazon SES I don't think there is any major advantage given to any specific hosting - just to confirm if I get you right. Meaning the hardware requirements aren't very critical even a shared hosting can do the job well?

@@davidlks so it really depends on how many messages you are sending in a batch. For new lists with only a few hundred or a few thousand contacts have worked perfectly fine fore me.
I don't run Mautic from any traditional hosting at this point instead opting for AWS EC2 or Lightsail depending on my needs and the client.
      aws.amazon.com/lightsail/
If you are brave enough to take on the tech side I think this is a better choice for you money.

@@davidlks I have run shared hosting with Mautic and it tends to be the lack of console admin privileges that cause me issues long before issues with resources. Cron jobs are also much less flexible often on shared hosting.
