      @@watercoloronlinemsolovyev I love it! And of course, your painting are magical! It is so fun to watch them come together. The biggest surprise to me in this painting was the sea foam/splash! My jaw dropped when you used the negative brush strokes behind the foam to create it! Bravo!

    I watched this amazing tutorial in preparation for a seascape sunset which I’m thinking about. Your pthalo blue and neutral tint was a very interesting shade for evening clouds but the lesson here for me was the absolute importance of contrasts to bring out the luminosity of a light part of a painting, and the need to be bold to compensate for fading, a mistake we amateurs make. Thank you Michael.

    The painting is amazing and you are a great artist. Peniche is not an island. It's the name of a portuguese fishing town but in front of Peniche, some kilometers away in the ocean there are The Berlengas Islands. They are a well preserved sanctury of bird and marine life.You can visit them. There are boat trips from Peniche and it takes half an hour to get there. Greetings from Portugal. We hope to have you here again very soon.

      Thank you for your comment. I have lived in Peniche for a couple of weeks and visited the Berlengas Islands. I always thought Peniche is an island as it was only connected with the mainland by a few bridges. Thanks for your correction, though, it is always good to know new infromation. I hope to return to Portugal very soon, too. Loving this coutry, all my visits there have been unforgettable.

      Sure, Santiago! Calligraphic brush uses 2 types of hair: soft goat on the outside, hard wolf on the inside. This combination allows me to create details, such as trees, with much greater ease! Check this video for more details: ruclips.net/video/3fJqUrO0974/видео.html

    Oh. Michel, es increíble pero en argentina en ese verano de 2018, tuve un atardecer junto al mar en una ciudad llamada Las Grutas. esos colores maravillosos y hasta las rocas se repiten en las playas de Portugal y gracias a tu pintura creo estar encontrando la bella manera de pintarlo. Si puedo haré una presentación de fotos y pasees por aquí en la la Patagonia Argentina, y tal vez un día puedas venir a enseñarnos más de tus maravillosos paseos en acuarela. Yo vivo a 400 km de Las Grutas, en la provincia de Río Negro y en algunas de esas fotos tan similares son del 24 de diciembre de ese año ,quedamos extasiados ante esos rosas, azules ,violáceos y amarillos tan claros....que contrastan con parecidos acantilados que tienen cuevas que le dan el nombre al lugar con sus siempre muy agradecida. siempre tu fans en facebook , lástima que no puedo comprar aquí esos colores tan bellos que tiene Daniel Smith .si no puedes traducir dime. yo uso los traductores de google

    If you were to use 640gsm paper instead, the drying time would be much longer I presume, how would that affect your painting?

    • @watercoloronlinemsolovyev
      @watercoloronlinemsolovyev  4 года назад +7

      Dear Mr. S., the density of paper changes not just the drying time. It changes just about everything! Paper with high density is very hard to master, so I would rather advice sticking to 300 gsm for learning. Now, the brand also changes the drying time, as they add different quantities of glue in the paper. Fabriano 300 gsm dries out in 15 minutes, Arches - in 30, Saunders Waterford - in an hour. You can experiment with brands if you look for longer drying times!

    Ciao Michael, guardare i tuoi video è come andare al cinema per vedere un film thrilling, si intreccia la storia si aggiungono personaggi, ma solo nel finale si capisce come si conclude la storia. I colori predominano sul disegno, la luminosità degli acquerelli e quei minuziosi tocchi di pennello danno una sensazione di morbidezza alle tue opere. Hai molto talento, ma credo che lo studio e la molta esperienza ti ha fatto raggiungere a uno stile molto personale, difficile da imitare. Al massimo si può scopiazzare. Ti seguo con molto interesse, e chissà se un giorno sottoporrò al tuo giudizio un mio acquerello?

    Thank you for the video. What kind of brush do you use in the beginning of painting? Where did you get it? Thank you

      Thanks, Natalia! I use Flat 7 lines brush that you can find here: watercoloronline.com/watercolorbrushes
      You can only find it in stores in China or Japan or on my website.
