Seeing the first ultimatum deck scoop the whole match was probably the highlight of my day so far, I hate that deck😂
That was the highlight of my week!
Such a good feeling.
Have to think about it, it may be out of respect that he left?
@@jeremyrichard8075 That's the feeling I got as well. Still, the decks both played pretty well during the match.
@@MTGGoldfish Seth how does it feel to be the progenitor of two decks you hate now
34:32 The moment Seth slips up and pronounces Kinnan correctly, before (in)correcting himself.
It was almost so embarrassing, good thing he caught it
lmao wtf Seth
My favorite is how mortality spear changed into mortality sphere into morality sphere, the most moral of spheres
Seth: Stadium Beats sultai ultimatum
Sultai Ultimatum: Binding of the old gods
Just have to hope they don't draw it ;)
@@MTGGoldfish or that you get Vorinclex first
@@MTGGoldfish I'm more curious why you're playing spear over it
Also, Tibalt.. Not minusing on stadium was a serious punt in g5
@@bjarkov12 That's what I was thinking too 😅
Remember when you played Emergent Ultimatum on Meme or Dream? It's not your fault but I blame you.
Oh how times change
I respect this comment so much
The only bad Ultimatums to build around were Eerie Ultimatum or Ruinous Ultimatum. Even then they were fine as one ofs.
This and Wilderness Rec are his fault
@@Spaced92 eerie is easy to build around
I think the first OP conceded out of respect.
*Turns my head to look at Stadium while walking down the street holding hands with infect*
Wowzers! This is the second time I've played one of your decks and achieved quick wins. My favorite was sacking Daemogoth to make 11 pests, and top decking stadium on a board with a single dragon!
Thank you, Seth!
Seth's hatred of all things Eldrane is heartwarming
I find it more tiring than anything. Especially when he ends up wining too
@@DimT670 Found the adventures player!
@@stshahar i actually play mono red aggro
everyone hates eldraine
@@DimT670 so bonecrusher giant, robber of the rich, torbran and embercleave.dek, huh
There is a mizzix mastery emergent ultimatum deck that isn't the one LSV made. It uses omniscience, scholar of the lost trove, minds desire and tendrils of agony to win. It was one of the silliest combo decks I've ever seen. Maybe we could see it for much abrew??
The world needs more Witherbloom jank, great job!
And I’ve found one of the only unenjoyable aspects of any pests deck can be that Necrotic Fumes/Pest summoning choice in certain situations.
Otherwise Pests are being a blast to jank around with. Really love how Daemogoth Titan and Stadium turned out!
33:46 you can see the opponent reading stadium AFTER losing. Almost like if you don’t know a card you should just take the time to read it before losing to it
Love it when opponent lost and you see him focussing immediately the Stadium to read :)))))
Love the deck, don’t want to backseat game too much but you should consider looting more with learn like when you drew 4 stadiums and needed lands
Nice Meat Puppets shirt, Seth :)
Thanks!
I finally figured it out! Not only do the Snarls snarl up your mana, like you said Seth, they also make your face snarl when you draw them!
I just snarl that they're $5. They're great and all, but they're not remotely worth that much. Hopefully the price'll drop when they rotate out.
When multiblocking (or attacking) you can click multiple creatures and then click what you want them to block (or attack), all at once
When I saw the intro, i was sure it was gonna be a Stadium/Fynn deck
I am loving these new intros!
LOVE the Ralph Bakshi Spiderman intro! :D
+100 Cool Points Awarded for the premium HST T-Shirt. +50 Bonus points for the Meat Puppets shirt. Well played, Seth...
Loved that first win! So sweet.
Only comment is that Infect should've just been Fynn.
I liked your intro.
Well done, very accurate (well at least quite accurate anyway).
You can tap the stadium for free counters on opp's end step even if you don't have anything to cast. Unlike Midnight Clock, Stadium triggers on 10 or more.
Yeah, Seth was definitely doing that in his games. The win trigger does come from a creature dealing damage though
@@mikeottavia yeah I commented as I was watching the Adventures match where he didn't. Oh well, my bad
@@mikeottavia I noticed he didn't always do it.
Obligatory 'That intro was golden' comment.
Obligatory 'I think so too' comment.
Obligamtory*
I’ve been playing this kind of deck since Strixhaven’s release! The card that wins me games is Return of the Wildspeaker which either draws me 11 cards or pumps the team of pests for the win!
29:20 "Can we let Kinnan live for a turn. Probably." is pretty wild to hear. Granted, I don't know too much about older Standard formats, but still.
I was so mad to see the adventure deck have the Negate, but it was so good to watch them punt away the game at the last second.
Nice, the art of Hans Eriksson in the background.
If you have a Vorinclex in play, you can use the spell half of Augmenter Pugilist to turn all of your tokens into Vorinclex and easily put enough counters on the Stadium just by tapping it (of course a board full of Vorinclex's will win the game as well, lol).
29:55 ah yes, the famous cards "kinnian" and "uhzika"
48:38 Skradium
People forget that they can discard draw with Learn.
wait what
@@SomeFreakingCactus Instead of wishing for a lesson you can just discard a card and draw a card. It's called Ramage or something.
Lmao at that intro 😂
We thought the ramp era was finlly over and then Emergent ultimatum attacked
Ramping to 7 has been terribly overpowered in Standard for a very long time now...
After watching this entire video, and especially after the Eldraine tribal match, I keep asking: “WHAT WERE THEY THINKING”
“Morality Sphere” removal for a totally different game...
These are the kinds of decks that made me fall in love with Seth 4 years ago
I feel Binding of the old gods might be good in this. With Pests the deathtouch mode might be good.
The land search lesson is great
Wizards of the Coast for the past 2 years:
You guys like simic ramp? Yeah? Oh, you don't anymore? Here it is again, anyways. Yes, more simic ramp cards! All of them!
Eldraine apocalypse chime would probably be main boarded in every competitive deck and that's sad. But the saddest part is that Oko could counter it.
"Strixhaven stadiumed him out of his way to play magic" is now my favorite Seth quote
First time I noticed a difference in your voice in the opening. I listen at work.
Great thumbnail Adriano!
An excellent thumbnail
Pests embarrassing that Sultimatum deck at the beginning was amazing
Nice! I commented strixhaven stadium on the last against the odds.
Please play either Jeskai or Prismari Mill, I call it turbo mill. Use all those amazing draw and then discard cards found in red/red white, blue for mill enchantment .
I wonder if they could have made a really bad land with lesson. Like, a come into play tapped colorless land
That feels too boring to be a rare, but would probably be busted at anything but rare in limited.
Environmental sciences is basically a bad land as a lesson, and it’s one of the top limited cards.
@@isaic16 yeah, you could experiment with it in constructed but it seems too slow.
Me: I am a big fan of whatever the frick that is.
Ben: These are my pests
Me: Very cool.
ha, the apocalypse charm comment got me good.
Stadium seems so good and fun too ;) What about adding Strixhaven Stadium to Standard Infect to somewhat duplicate Fynn's ability, considering most of your creatures are going to be small anyways?
I was between "Dina/Vito" and "Witherbloom Wins" for my Strixhaven G/B effort.
This.....is a good build. Could be better by being lower to the ground with *Elderfang Deciple* and 1 *Fractal Summoning* in the board for late game 'oomph.
48:25 is that a yu-gi-oh reference, where you win with the Destiny Board as alternate win condition? 🤓
seems like 4 pest summonings in the sb is a bit excessive
I feel like there's got to be better ways to trigger stadium than pests though.. Maybe the GW weenie deck with clarion spirit and friends?
Watching Seth lose to the one remaining Eldraine deck with a deck that preys on it is fun
I saw Kinnan and immediately had horrible Brawl PTSD
Maybe 3 stadiums and one of that legendary modal Pest lord!
Less stadium flooding and heck, 10 2/2 pests hits for 20?
Five months late, but lesson has the secondary option of discarding to draw! Wouldve helped with ditching those extra plumb the forgottens or stadiums to draw into the missing combo piece, rather than grabbing pest summonings you dont need
Nobody tell Seth Tend the Pests is an instant
I'm marking off the days on my calendar until Eldraine rotates...
You could run extra copies of stadium utilising the great henge as with the titan it would cost 2 mana
so want to see this deck updated with MOM
I think since agent of treachery standard has been boring. You can never try fringe decks if you want to win.
This episode makes me wish there were more cards that repeatedly made pest tokens. A constant stream of those things seems like a massive slog to try and push past.
cast Eldraine Chime- nooo my castle!!!
Yes, 4 copies of Strixhaven Stadium in hand is excessive but at least you can use them as mana. I had 4 Winota's in hand and 3 mana on board...
gotta love yorion decks being more consistent than 60 card decks.
@mtggoldfish why no karns bastion?
This looks fun :D
Watch Stadium become like Ultimatum and Wilderness Rec and Seth found his new card to hate
Theres always a satisfying smile in my face when a tryhard with a top tier deck gets janked and outright ragequits
My version of this uses nessian boar which can actually get stuck into combat
I want to see a mono white stadium deck with some stax and some token producers.
6:35 Why didn't you attack with the Titan? It's not like 7 point worth of power are going to stop that. You could've killed something on their side of the board...
34:33 Seth slipped up and Pronounced Kinnan correctly
Stadium is the polar opposite of 9 lives
43:15 well if they sack their treasures precombat so they can't attack, then yes... They could have just attacked
Adorable thumbnail
normally not the type of person to "yell" at you for misplays but why not chump bonecrusher at 19:19 I swear you just took 3 extra damage for no reason?
Just watching that Ultimatum player have two back to back pissed me off.
that first game was great - emergent ultimatum is my least favorite card in standard, playing against it feels worse than playing against eldraine cards.
A lithoform engine or two could be great with this
Strixhaven Stadium could be a finisher in a prison deck in modern
TASTE. IT. ULTIMATUM.
Why play innkeeper if it dies to Stomp?
that first game was aggravating. opponent is playing the most boring and scummiest tier one deck and then leaves after losing one match to strixhaven stadium? are you kidding me??? they probably would've won the next match no problem. child mentality.
You never give them the extra turn.. they always have/get a second ultimatum
14:55 The Shame!!!
Edgewall not being banned is just proof wizards doesn't care
Use Trample with the Trample Bonder
If you Trample creatures can damage as if they aren't blocked, it's even more fun
Garruk's Uprising can be good too.
Every reasonable trample creature is just going to kill your opponent before the stadium can do anything. The card really only works with either a bunch of 1/1s, some board wipes or fogs to stop you from taking damage, or an artifact untapping or counter duplicating combo. I guess you could also have both players gain a lot of life, but that may not be reasonable.
Imagine playing emergent ultimatum then salty scooping to stadium
God Emergent decks must have some whitelisted feature because they literally never don't have 2 of them on hand on curve
Remember when that was the bad ultimatum?
3 mana Tef made it unplayable
Seth: loses to Lukka (Ikoria) Koma (Kaldheim) and Akroan War (Theros)
Also Seth: ELDRAINE IS THE MOST BROKEN SET
I had somebody play this deck against me, resolved the stadium and wouldn't stop emoting afterwords. Because, yanno, binding the old gods doesn't exist 🙄
why is a whole ass stadium an "artifact" and not a land.... ???
To nerf it, I guess?
You know, Learn can be used to Rummage...
Spears arent good removal tbh . Id rather run Elim or more heartless act
