Awesome to see the progress like this. For simple isometric shapes I also recommend 3D > Extrude > Isometric Top. You can expand shapes that you made and get some quick isometric shapes without a grid.
Great video and very helpful thank you. Have you ever tried affinity design? They have a great isometric grid in it and I would be curious to see what you could create using it. I look forward to watching parts 2 thru 4 of these tutorials

You could just use the 3d tool too. The grid would work good to keep things in line.
