- Inspired by @katiejlumsden to participate in Jane Austen July, I picked up ‘Persuasion.’ Here’s a video of everything I love about Austen’s genius and my views on ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Persuasion,’ in particular ❤️.

Going to head over and watch it! Thank you for sharing
People started Jane Austen with Pride and Prejudice but it was persuasion that happened to me first. The longing, her desperation, her helplessness. Anne Elliot was everything and much stronger.
The fact that Jane Austen can produce two characters that are completely different and do them both equal justice is ♥️. Your journey from Persuasion to P&P must have been even more astounding given the difference in Anne and Lizzie’s natures.
Also, I'd love to see a video on how to read classics from u because that's something I struggle with. Even if I'm loving a classic, it's hard for me to get through and takes me months, despite usually being such a fast reader. So I'd love some tips on how to change that
LOVE THISS! Can't wait to see more book content from you ♥️ Now let me pick up Persuasion!!!!
Yes please 🫶🏻 I know you’re going to love Anne
Love this video so much♥️ Can't wait for more bookish content.
My vote goes to Emma✨
Thank you! I’m leaning towards Emma as well 💫
Thank you so much for starting this because everything about Jane Austen coming from you is exceptional ❤️
So GLAD you read Persuasion!! See, told you you'd love it ♥️ and also happy #JaneAustenJuly 😍
Definitely going to read persuasion 💕
And from where did you get this illustrated edition can you please share the link🥺
I bought these editions when ReadingsPK had newly launched
I read Pride and Prejudice for the first time when I was really young and fell in love with it. A few years later, I picked up Sense and Sensibility and had to dnf it because it was grating on my nerves. Haven't picked up anything by her since. I've come to realize that I have a very specific taste in classics, things like Wuthering Heights and Frankenstein. And I can't bear the soft and sweet stories cause they just feel boring and can't hold my interest. So if I ever do feel the need to experience Jane Austen again, I think I'll just watch the film adaptations.
Completely understand. Classics aren’t for everyone and that’s okay ♥️
Fan girl of jane auesten loved this video❤️🫂
I only watched the Netflix version of Persuasion because of Dakota Johnson. I absolutely hated the way they portrayed the character of Anne. She's so sensible and sensitive and in the Netflix adaption she was a drunkard? They should have done what Clueless did to Emma, that is a true modernization of a classic, not this abomination 😓
Watch the 2007 BBC adaption starring Sally Hawkins. You'll love that ♥️
Didn’t know about this but now I’m skeptical about any kind of adaptation 😂
