I Love the Toyota Tacomas, especially the TRD off roads, I don’t own one, but when I do, even though it’s very capable for off roading and it may be fast, im still gonna go easy and baby it, just the way I am

I bought a 2019 TRD OffRoad 4x4 Double Cab Short Bed, Tacoma new in Jan of 2019...we own a horse farm and I drive a lot. I've put 79K miles on this truck so far - a LOT of that in 4WD - nothing but routine maintenance. The size is great - as our farm is on a river - and this truck goes along the small trails with ease. It is like a billy goat as far as getting around the farm. We have more comfortable vehicles, but I must say I enjoy driving this little truck and the quality and capability is outstanding. It is comfortable on my trips to and from offices...the back seat is not built for comfort and if I take more than 1 passenger, I take my full size Tahoe, but other than that I think this truck is a great value. My son has a 2002 TRD Off Road 4x4 Tacoma - with 240K miles (he bought it from a close friend of mine who bought it new)...still running strong.
i would like to see more videos just like this on other cars. I like how you tested performance, giving it gas, braking, and the off road was cool!

I feel like imma be sick after such a rough test drive in the truck
I am undecided whether i should get a trd sport or off road. I am leaning towards a manual trd sport 4x4 because I will drive primarily on roads and the occasional light trails on camping trips. I know the off road is a better value because of the locking diff. My daily right now is a BMW with M sport suspension. My only concern is the floaty ride and body lean(squeling) as seen is this video. Is there a huge difference in handling/ride between the sport and off road? Thanks in advance.
I own a 2020 sport as I also am primarily on the road/interstate and the suspension is a bit tighter for a smoother ride. I test drove the sport and off road and liked the sport's feel more for the road. I also drive through construction sites for work and it does fine on dirt, mud, gravel and dips as well. You can still off road quite a bit with it will just be a bumpier ride and no locking diff. Overall I'd say if you're primarily on the road and don't plan on going on crazy off road trails go with the sport. Also in my opinion the hood scoop looks great on it and it gets compliments all the time. Would totally test drive both sport and off road though to get a better idea for road feel.

I want a Tacoma so bad. They’re the perfect size, nimble and just feels good driving. But they’re way out of my price range
i have the 2020 offroad but I'd say unless you go offroad a decent amount, it's overrated. Yea, you got a lot of aftermarket support and they're reliable (who knows now that production is all in the new Mexico factory). but they hog gas for what they are and it feels underpowered. If I could choose again, I'd go with a Ford F150 v8 or a turbo (but it's probably out of my price range with equivalent options as my current tacoma.)

John I was looking for more of the early 2010s or even the mid 2000s Tacoma’s and even those are so much more expensive than Silverado, RAM 1500, F150

How well do the leather seats last compared to the regular cloth?
I’ve always felt that cloth ages better. Leather will always eventually start to crack and eventually look like diamond plating. If you plan to own the truck a long time, that’s always something to consider. Leather is hot in the sun and freezing in the winter too.

Between Tundra and Tacoma, which is better ?
Tundra by a mile. The Tacoma has a terrible seating position and overall interior layout, and the engine and transmission are just junk. For not much more money, you can buy a Tundra anyways. The Tacoma is incredibly overrated and overpriced.

@@Aggressive_Splooge It is, but the Tacoma isn't much better, it's also horrible when considering the power of the engine. With my Tacoma, I get around 17-18 MPG in my mixed driving. My previous Tundra would get 15, but the Tundra is so much bigger and more powerful.
Dont get a Tacoma i just got a 2020 Tacoma. Thing cant get out of its own way and for 40k was not worth the money. Skip to 5:58 sounds like its going to fall apart revving so hard.

@@Aggressive_Splooge 100%. The Tacoma is a perfect example of Toyota's arrogance. They think they can build a truck, which is still based on the same awful 16 year old architecture, and people will buy it...and they do!
Besides its reputation, this truck has really nothing to offer. It's the same architecture from 2004, which is why the interior is so weird and uncomfortable to sit in. Also, rather than develop a truck specific engine, or least a high output engine for truck duty, they detune a Camry engine and give it most godawful 6 speed in the business.
It might sound like I'm exaggerating, but the engine and transmission are almost undriveable in a vehicle this big. It's slow, it's gas guzzling, and the transmission is always confused and in disagreement with the driver, because it was never develop properly. This is half baked truck because Toyota just doesn't care. People will buy it no matter what.
Drive any vehicle on the market back to back. This truck is just trash in comparison.

I think it's because they were left alone in the segment for a few years and that built them a loyal fanbase. Ford and GM were stupid to leave that market instead of improving their products. Also, the legendary reliability is a big factor of course.

Toyota really needs to do some updates. The transmission on this truck really sucks, and that drone going down the highway is absolutely horrible! Is it just me or does that stupid drone get annoying!
Its thanks to the TRD performance exhaust....its not good at all....way better with the stock exhaust, no drone.
I think the Tundra needs updates (which it will have)
