Middle weight bikes are the way to go for me. Nimble, loads of power and you really don’t need any more for the road. I own a 675 triple and it is a joy.

After riding 1000's going back to a 600 felt pointless to me. All of the downsides of sportsbike riding position on the road, with zero fun of the torque.
All that noise, for what felt like slow motion lol
Always thinking "I'd rather be riding a supermoto than this".. way more fun ringing the neck of one of those. Couldn't wait to give the 6r back tbh 😂

I’m 55 years old and 3 stone over weight
I bit the bullet and bought a 2024 ZX10R and it’s surprisingly comfy on top
Yes my legs are high but not once have I had to stop for aches on the wrists. I love it.
Would recommend Kawasaki sports bike for anyone who wants one

Im normally a Honda girl, but I've put a deposit on a zx6r anniversary edition. Going to pick it up soon. I love the kawasaki, it's a brilliantly fun machine and made me smile during the demo ride.
I rode the performance edition back to back with the 2024 cbr600rr last week. The kawasaki has more low and mid range power than the Honda. And the throttle is more responsive. The bike is larger than the Honda and taller.
The Honda has a nicer quick shifter and gear box. It felt very, very hot through the seat for me, which was a deal breaker. I also kept hitting the horn by accident when indicating, which was annoying. The kawasaki was just more fun and versatile for me for the road.
I can't wait to get my new zx6r!

Oh man, I am so, SO happy some of us are still interested in old school 600cc screamers!! None of this parallel twin nonsense.
Keen to see the Kawi (my personal favourite) take on the new Honda. I reckon the baby blade has more tech, but traditionally I've always been drawn to Team Green because of the extra 36cc and the larger dimensions of the bike. Can't wait for the comparison! Well done fellas.

I rode one of these a few months ago when my Ninja 1000sx was in for a service. First thing I noticed was how uncomfortable it was but after 5 minutes got used to it and for the next hour had a blast. This and the CBR600 are good value. I paid over £7000 for my GSXR600 new back in 2005! When you considered 1000cc bikes are now 20 grand plus and the new ZX4RR isn't that much cheaper either than one of these.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  4 месяца назад +3

Come to think of it my 2000 GSXR600K1 was also over £7000. 24 years ago 600s have only gone up just over 3 grand. Seriously thinking of getting one for track days and Sunday basts. Now if only Suzuki would bring back the GSXR600 for the same price.

After recently buying another liter bike, and kind of regretting it. I do feel that the smaller displacement, lighter weight bikes are the way to go for the street.
    More engaging, more smiles.
As Ive recently heard another RUclips motor Vlogger say. “It’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow”

    Great review Greg!
    I've got 3x 600cc bikes..
    Zx6r,Gixxer,Daytona 675..
None of them has a blipper, ABS and so on.
And I don't miss it at all!
    I'm the auto blipper 😂😂
The Daytona has a quick shifter which is great for track days.
My Gixxer is my daily with 80K miles on it and it's faultless..
You really don't need liter bikes to have fun. And they are plenty fast for the road.
They also use less tires, chains and brakes, more economical.

So glad to see this review! I tried this bike in US a month ago as a part of a demo ride. I was very impressed and surprised even. I am riding 848 evo and love this aging horse, low end torque of it deals with traffic very nicely. On slower speeds zx6r felt very capable, exactly as you mentioned, I could not test it on the higher speeds though. Very engaging, dynamic and polished, as some fellow rider who sampled it joked: “it makes you want to do bad things”. 😂

Nice little vid. I'm really glad they've made a comeback too. It makes sense as well with the 1000cc's being so expensive & bordering on unusable on the road now. However, for me it's the comfort or lack of that's the only but significant issue. I've had several supersports before & I struggled at times in my 20's with my wrists & shoulders so these would ruin me now. Although, never say never! If Suzuki bought the GSX-R 600 & preferably the 750 back, I would be very very tempted. Looking forward to the comparison with the CBR which has been selling really well apparently.

I wish manufacturers were allowed to make bikes louder from the factory. The stock bikes are so quiet that a lot of younger riders overcompensate and get a comically loud exhaust, which borders on obnoxious when riding through residential areas. If bikes were louder from the factory I think a lot of people would be happy with a more moderate volume.

I had a 2019 ZX6R and the powerband is very linear. It never hit a point in the RPM's where it went crazy, it pulled hard from 4,000 RPM's all the way to the redline ( I had a 2013 600RR HRC and about 10,000 RPM it had an extreme powersurge ) I put 27,000 miles on the ZX6R and it was still rock solid when I sold it last month and would have trusted it to ride it anywhere.. I sold it because I'm 51 years old and discovered i have Ulcerative Colitis about 6 months ago.. do you need a steering damper for this? As far as I see if the bike is in good condition it's not prone to wobble, tank slappers usually starts when one of the parts start to fail like the suspension, bearings or just wrong tyre pressure... but correct me if I'm wrong

I used to have an N reg ZX6R F2 a little bit nutty but could be utterly civilised as well, does this new one just go through the red line like it's not there, like my old one did. Howling ram air included in 2024?

Now we just need Suzuki back to the party, and Triumph to give us a new Daytona (a proper one)

Is it really a cable throttle or just a cable to the TPS? Which Honda do very successfully.

I think Kawasaki did the right thing with this bike; keep the bike basic and keep it affordable.

My 97 srad 600 is still more than enough for road use.
Above 6 grand its jail speeds generally.
The abs is a good thing on modern bikes (I also have 2020 KTM duke) but I wouldn’t really need anything else.
    What’s your favourite 600 ?

I’ve only tried the ZX6R and the CBR600RR to be honest, but out of the two of these, I prefer the Kawasaki. It’s close though as the Honda is also very good. Cheers

I really like your summary and looking forward to the comparison with the Honda. During the ride you didn't mention anything about the heat, would you say there isnt an issue? Also a few times you mentioned great bike for the road, would you say its not really suitable for the track? Cheers

Thanks a lot! There was no heat from the engine, including quite a bit of slow town riding so no issues there. As for a track bike, it would be absolutely ideal so if that’s your intended purpose, go for it. I was also impressed as to how good a road bike it was as well so, all in all, it’s very versatile 👍

Thanks for the thought. Are you referring to the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland? If it’s the Republic, any idea of the price as will be in Euros? If Northern, do you have a view on the taxes as I thought leaving the EU had caused some complications? Thanks a lot
