There is a famous, I would even say iconic (in the post-soviet area) soviet time Armenian cartoon "Wow, a Talking Fish!" ("Ух ты, говорящая рыба!") that literally starts with and old man saying something like "If I tell anyone, the won't believe-" [spreading the hands] "-Once I caught a fish this-" [spreading his hands even more] "-uh, no, this size!" The cartoon is a little psychedelic and existential and I love it. Also love your content, your podcasts with such good quality subtitles help me learning English faster!
But they're not lying! The lake is just very generous and provides a fish perfectly sized to every fisherman's wingspan so they provide for their families! 😂
My guess was that they were forming a kind of human wall of some sort, and it was pointless because of how easy it was to get around via an alternate route. As for the actual answer, if everyone else is T posing, I'd think you'd stand out more by giving and honest and much more obviously modest gesture, maybe holding your hands about shoulder width apart. Someone driving past would have to notice you and say "hey, he's doing something different, I'll take a closer look".
My guess was something like "it's on a street close to a border where you can't transport fish over, on the side that's outgoing, so buying them just before the checkpoint would be pointless."
Woman: is it pointless because the fish are right there on display? Men, 2 minutes later: is it pointless because the fish are right there on display? Men: *laugh at the joke they just made*
Is there anywhere we can watch the entire podcast in video form like this? Being able to see faces really helps me understand what everyone is saying! Obviously not a big deal if there isn’t I’ll just keep using the transcript
csanadtemesvari9251 The comment section is for commenting on the video. Therefore it is unreasonable to expect people to not refer to the video in question while commenting. I get it that you can see a comment without opening the comment section, but you just have to deal with it. I never have that problem because I avert my eyes from the bottom of the screen and put the video on full screen as quickly as possible.
As an F1 fan, I read this title and immediately thought of George Russel (he's kinda famous for t-posing). Edit: I don't think its a spoiler to say its nothing to do with him 🙃.
Armenia, that's a rare country. Well, yes. There's only one of it. Unlike Korea, say, Korea and China which both have 2 countries claiming to be the real one.
Because they are always claiming as much as they possibly can? Not really, though… there are laws against lying about health benefits in most countries…
I can't believe none of them thought of... "It's pointless, because obviously... there's no such thing as a fish."
"So, what's your profession?"
" *_Asserting dominance_* "
Dominance over Fish. Sounds like a D&D Spell.
Bump to try and get some spoiler protection 😁

What's in the box joke was great

the people driving around the lake:
"something seems fishy about these guys standing here"
My guess was something like "it's on a street close to a border where you can't transport fish over, on the side that's outgoing, so buying them just before the checkpoint would be pointless."
T pose to assume dominance.
*assert
TyroKith Could also be assume, I guess. As in take dominance. Like if I began to dominate you, I'm taking or assuming dominance.
@@daerdevvyl4314 True!
Nobody:
Geroge Russell: I'm all ears.
I love this panel, they all have cool stories and off the cuff puns. Hilarious!
Casually listen to clips on autoplay, come up from the basement hearing the fish crew! Awesome
I'm impressed that Tom Scott got all of the regular cast of No Such Thing As A Fish (of which I'm a great fan.)
I always love these videos!
Spoilers:
But how can they be selling fish when there's No Such Thing as a Fish???
We don't just throw this show together.
It's nice to hear the Mr Men getting a mention. More of it please.
Woman: is it pointless because the fish are right there on display?
Men, 2 minutes later: is it pointless because the fish are right there on display?
Men: *laugh at the joke they just made*
Her fish were memorial statue fish.
I guess that's why they were so easily forgotten.

Our current podcast platform is taking a long time to implement video, so we're looking at other options at the moment. -- David
@@lateralcast thank you so much for the response, I’m excited to see what you guys find
What do I do if I submitted a question, but the word choice is bad? Do I submit again, or will the hosts edit the question if they like it?
Don't worry about wording - if we like the basic idea, we'll take care of the editing. -- David
My first thought when he said it was pointless was "oh, there's a new planking is there?"
love these guys
Their podcast is awesome
Oh! t- _posing_ . I might have misread the headline.
Back in school you also found young men standing in a crucifixion type pose but the reason was that it became a meme to T pose
Can't believe no one went for "Roman empire reenacters"
I'm 6'9 so I'd sell the most fish because my arms are the widest
I do believe that the 6'11" man I once met might disagree with you.
You'd have the nicest fish
Dude, spoilers!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have thought of George
Why is it pointless?
Well, have the fish been taxidermied? 🤭
There's obviously a carrot in the box.
And Jon never gets it.
i guessed "scarecrows"
First guess: they were doing a George Russell impression!
It’s pointless because there’s no such thing as a fish.
How did the entire conversation between 2:40 and 3:30 occur (about there being non-existant fish) , and no-one said 'No Such Thing as a Fish'?!?
I thought it was going to be because you pay by weight, so size doesn't matter.
What's hung on the wall behind Andrew Hunter Murray?
IRL, Mr Tickle would be severely disabled.
Wait, so what was the answer?
It was pointless because they were.. lying?
Bit of a weird question then.
If everyone's got their arms out as wide as possible, then none of it really matters does it?
They're pointing to lakes Six and Eight?
Fishy fishermen...
It only took them two minutes to start talking about fish?
You could make some cash by selling them googly eyes
Had to check if anyone else was thinking of that one. Although wouldn't that just get them into even more trouble?
why does everyone here besides tom look like an eastern European poet that got sent to Siberia for their writing
Armenia, that's a rare country.
Well, yes. There's only one of it. Unlike Korea, say, Korea and China which both have 2 countries claiming to be the real one.
Perhaps they had stinky pits and need to air them out. Fishmongering is a hard job, after all.
Armenia is beautiful, whoever hasn't been there, should go at least once!
So, by extension, the health claims on the front of food packaging is just as pointless.
Because they are always claiming as much as they possibly can? Not really, though… there are laws against lying about health benefits in most countries…
Because everything is pointless. #nihilism
5:31 _"Se7en"_ joke! :P
