Incredible lifting. I'm a male weighing about 82Kg and used to be able to lift 82Kg when I was about 65Kg but to lift 109Kg would take significant training and effort. It boggles my mind that a sub 49Kg female can lift that weight and I take my hat off to her. Stay healthy and realise your potential young lady. Incredible! 🙇♂
Most of our distant ancestors would have been this strong but humanity lost it with the exception of a few genetically gifted individuals such as this lady.
I'm not into weightlifting, but this woman is incredible. Her technique and power are insane. I would argue sports like these are some of the most difficult, because at the end of the day your only competition is yourself. To think she's only 21 years old, sky's the limit
She has great technique. She is also very quick. And she is just 21 years old. She can add a kilo or two in the clean & jerk in every competition, and she can easily get the european record too. Also, she can definitely win an olympics medal this year. Awesome athlete.
The commentors mention the timer buzzer allowed to sound as she was lifting her last clean; the blood is pumping so loudly in your ears at a max attempt that there's little chance she even heard it.
(0:30) (2:53) (6:06) Why is her grip offset? It works, obviously and can an imagine it's a kind of compensation but have never seen it before. Is it advisable, - I'm thinking long term effect on the body etc.?
I've noticed that too. Perhaps individual limb differences. I personally tend to have my right foot slightly ahead of the left for squats and deadlifts to feel "equal". It probably isn't the best to have any differences though. I'd guess one of her lats might be tighter than the other or maybe it's the scapula, we'd need a camera behind her body.
Blows my mind. I'm a 190cm 90kg guy, been training for ~4 years (but mostly calisthenics), I think I'd struggle to get half my bodyweight up and over my head, she's doing double...
Half body weight should be fairly « easy » for a guy. I’m not training that much for lifting, I’m a skinny 72kg guy and can clean & jerk a pair of 20kg kettlebells for reps. I never tried to C&J a barbel though. Anyway these powerlifters are amazing !
Comes down to technique... if you never did any olympic weightlifting it can look daunting but after a few classes it'll make sense and you'll be on your way to clean and jerking your bodyweight at least in no time.
She's a professional athlete you're a random dude that works out. Imagine watching a formula 1 video and saying ''blows my mind. I've had my drivers license for 20 years and I'd struggle to go at half the speed, they're going twice as fast''
If you have no clue looking at this and just look 109kg doesn't seem to be impressive but when you take into account she is weighing under 50kg and in the weight class she is rather tall which is a huge disadvantage makes this all so much more impressive, a huge congratulation to the g9ld.
@brucegilbert625 He speaking from a trained powerlifting individual point of view where if you weigh around 90-95 kg and been training consistently for a number of years and only being able to lift 109 overhead which is unimpressive given the bodyweight basically the heavier the person is the more he/she supposed to lift even though lifting 110 kg over your head is insane as long as you are lighter even by 10 kg to that.
I'm 100 kg and I lifted this weight before BUT obviously Mihaela's half my weight which makes her lift so damn great! It would be like me lifting over 220 kg (!!!) which is absolutly impossible for me 😅😅😅 So: Love + respect for her - great job 😊👍
When I was younger and trained in martial arts, I weighed 80 kg and lifted a barbell weighing 90 kg. This was my record without any specialized training. But 109 kg being such a girl, it's amazing.
48kg is a small, small woman. The power of these athletes is crazy, how many men, with all their skeletal and hormonal advantages, can lift 2X their body weight over their heads?? hardly any

At 3:00 she places her hands asymmetrically, with her right hand closer to the plates on the right side than her left hand is to the plates on the left side. Is this purposeful to give more of the load to her stronger side? Sure lifted it brilliantly.
It’s Kinesiology (KT) tape. Research shows it does nothing remarkable but some athletes use it because they think it helps reduce swelling, improve circulation and support joints/muscles. Since she wears it every time she lifts it may be more a part of her routine now (like wearing straps, weight belt, etc).
What kind of wraps is she wearing? I have dyshidrotic eczema on my right hand so the knurling of the bar really rubs it raw after repeated training days so having something to cover my hand like that would be great.
They’re venom boxing straps. Some athletes use them as wristbands, she also covers that part of her hand. There might be some YT videos on how to wrap it that way.

Amazing posture. Anyway, the knees pop inwards for a split second - is that not bad? With squats, people are told to push the knees out to the sides to avoid "caving knees".
Nope, internal rotation of femur is a normal part of a movement pattern coming up from a squat. It will be present especially in maximum lifts, bc you can produce more power when using it than when not using it, since it naturally belongs there. The push your knees out is a generic advice for ppl who have no clue what to do in a squat, but is not a all covering advice really.

Amazingly impressive lifts! I'm a man more than twice her size and I'm not sure I could C&J that weight, certainly not with nearly that good of a technique.
