It’s not a political issue … it’s a lack of responsibility of the people who work in the city building department and City owned buildings, vacant lots.. if they actually sell the property’s.. then they wouldn’t need so many people working in that department…
Why were people allowed to live in a building that was under construction and didn’t have an occupancy permit, or utilities.. 8-16 people almost burned up in that fire just the other day… who is running the city?
The building at Cere and Broadway (former Beal Street Blues. Bar) is being allowed to fall into disrepair so it can be demolished. That building is one of the last historical commercial buildings downtown. It was built before the civil war and has connections to US Grant and his wife Julia Dent. This building needs to be saved. It might be the oldest commercial building in downtown St. Louis.
There lies buried a real story of decades of deceit. There are land owners who have come about owning large portions of these purposely ignored properties/blocks/ whole neighborhoods to sell out at a later date for huge private profit. Government officials have been fleecing this town for decades
