Adding this in the comments because it slipped my mind when I was making the video, but another notable thing to happen to me in the community is that I actually won an award in one of the DB Discord’s Oscar shows. I ended up winning the Best DB Influencer award and Liam said some very kind words during the stream. I wasn’t able to catch it live but I did watch the members-exclusive VOD that got uploaded afterwards. It was really nice and I greatly appreciate the support from both the crew and everyone that submitted my name for consideration, thank you all!

That is easily the most solid top 10 best Death Battles list I’ve ever seen from another user. I always knew that Death Battle were gonna pull through despite how many people I saw acting like they had no chance, and the fact that we’ve got 17 episodes guaranteed to happen including another Luis masterpiece, the return of Torrian Crawford, and possibly even a third live action fight as our 18th is genuinely inspiring. Also that lost Black Widow vs Widowmaker review genuinely gaslight me into thinking that I loved the episode when it first came out despite me having virtually no memory of watching it because of how hard I fell off of Death Battle around season 6. Here’s to 14 more years of this show and this community!
Here’s my Nostalgia Critic Top 11 Best Death Battles Before Season Kickstarter 11. Dio vs Alucard (One of the most technically perfect episodes of the show with no asterisks whatsoever) 10. Wolverine vs Raiden (An absolute masterpiece in terms of pure action. Easily one of the most fast and intense fights they’ve ever done) 9. SpongeBob vs Aquaman (Still one of the most fun episodes in the series, hands down, despite how much people have turned on it recently) 8. Balrog vs TJ Combo (Has been one of my top 10 favorite episodes, bare minimum, ever since it came out nearly 7 years ago! The fact that an episode this flawless is done here is nuts) 7. Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher (Genuinely feels like an official crossover with how fleshed out the story and characters are, on top of having god-like buildup to possibly my 2nd favorite climax in Death Battle history) 6. Ironman vs Lex Luthor (A masterclass in crossover storytelling with consistently exciting action and one of the all-time best comebacks in the series for a variety of reasons) 5. Hulk vs Doomsday (The first Death Battle episode I ever watched that had a bigger impact on my life than any other in the series, on top of being an episode that genuinely feels perfect and like a classic) 4. Saitama vs Popeye (The first episode to properly give me a new favorite episode in the long term. It gave me a new found appreciation for Death Battle’s analyses that I never had before on top of the best fight animation they had ever made. It was topped three times in only the second half of season 10.) 3. Scooby vs Courage (Easily the funniest Death Battle fight animation of all time that captures the feeling of a cartoon better than any other episode either. An absolute blast in every conceivable way) 2. Bill Cipher vs Discord (The amount of stuff packed into every crevice of this episode is insane from the best edited analysis in the series with the most amount of hidden visual gags to the fight which was the most colorful and creative that Death Battle has ever done. I couldn’t believe that my new favorite episode was topped in less than 2 years and I thought this would be an impossible pedestal for anything else to reach.) 1. Goku vs Superman 3 (The loudest reaction that any Death Battle next time trailer has ever gotten out of me. I knew for a fact that this would be great and thought it would be kinda funny if it topped Billcord already, but then just exactly that happened. On top of possibly my favorite pair of analysis segments in the series only rivaled by Billcord, the most fun and exciting Death Battle fight with a climax that goes harder than any other, a final shot that is easily my favorite in the show, my favorite conclusion in the series, and a great message to close it off, what this episode represents overall is what truly makes it one that I don’t think Death Battle could ever top for me. It could not have come out at a more perfect time and the message of the episode could not have been more relevant to me at that exact moment.)
I went to go add to the kickstarter, and was blown away to see that they were almost 3 times over the goal. Didn't stop me from giving them money tho. When I first got into the show, the newest episode was Balrog vs TJ Combo, what an amazing episode to start on.
I hope that now they aren't as controlled they can really make somethibg even closer to the classics and even greater than the latest, and from what we've seen, and the goal being surpassed, I realize that we will get that.
Been here since season 2. Had a bit of a love/hate relationship with it at the start but I’ve grown to love the series as the series went on. It was always fun showing my brother and father and seeing their reaction to the episode. Plus, I’ve made countless friends in college who are also invested in Death Battle (one of them was responsible for why I have a stronger admiration toward the series). While I may not have had the best experience with the community, it’s still fun checking in and seeing other’s reaction to certain episodes and their explanation of why they love or hate a specific episode. Plus, they inspired me to step up my game with my own animation projects. Good to have them back.
My favorite episodes and moments come from the second half of the season, usually bcoz the second half of their seasons far exceeds the first half in analysis, research, foght scenes, deaths, so on and so forth
Honestly! The Most Hype I’ve ever with this series, was watching Godzilla Vs Gamera, Dante Vs Bayonetta, Voltron Vs OG Megazord, Meta Maine Vs Carolina, Beerus Vs Salior Galaxia! Those to me were Peak Battles! Same with Hulk Vs Doomsday and Vergil Vs Sephiroth.
I did a video like this over my original channel and I gotta say I love that several of your picks were some of my favorites, as well, albeit placed in a different order. Iron Man vs Lex Luthor and Solid Snake vs Sam Fischer were both of my picks from Season 2 and both managed to make it into the Top 10, Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai and Meta vs Carolina were higher in the Bottom 10, Saitama vs Popeye was #5, Sauron vs The Lich King was #6, and while I chose not to include it due to the fact that it was a tie Scooby vs Courage did get a 5/5 score (I put some rules on myself for the Top 20 so that every season of Death Battle got at least two episodes to be highlighted, and Season 10 was filled with a ton of 5/5 episodes to begin with so that's why I chose not to include it since it could have straight-up overtaken every other episode). I'm really hoping that Season 11 delivers on more battles that actually bother to respect the characters no matter the results of who wins and that we don't get any more crap episodes that seemed to have been made purely out of spite *cough* Deku vs Asta *cough*
God i haven't thought about death battle in ages me and my dad would used to watch random eps some old some new. And I still remember my first death battle I found I was like 4/5 and big into mlp I found the fucking starscream v rainbow dash and was hooked
Round 1 was only a few spots off in fairness. Round 3 had the pieces to get there but I just didn’t find the bulk of the combat interesting enough for everything to quite come together to make it an all time favourite.
