I bought Meyer brands cast iron kadahi and frying pan..its already pre seasoned as per them but for seasoning the suggested to heat the kadai on high flame then apply some oil with the help of tissue and repeat the process 2-3 times and its done...what do you suggest? Also i wanted to know:- 1) we dont eat any fried food in our home and the size of kadai and frypan are really big so can i directly start with cooking normal sabzis or do you have any other suggestions. 2) Also meyer suggested to use silicon spatula while cooking food- can we use normal stainless steel or wooden spoons or silicon spatula is better. 3) should we cook food on high or low flame in cast iron?
Glade to hear that you bought cast iron utensils for cooking:) it's really good for health. Yes you can season your cast iron utensils one more time. There is no harm in doing that. If you don't want to deep fry in your kadai no problem. You can directly cook after seasoning. I suggest a wooden or metal spatula.

No that is not equired. But make sure you wash your cast iron kadai after cooking and dry it as usual. Also you have to apply and coat it with oil after the wash and store it in dry place in order to avoid rusting.

Why not to use soap for cleaning? Even after seasoning the kadai, can't we use soap ? If soap not used , then pehle khaane Ka smell toh Nahi aayega next recipe me ?

I suggest starting me na use karen . Ek baar ache se seasoning ho jaye tab use karen. There are so many brands in market. I suggest indus valley or mannarcraft.
@@CookingwithGirija i boiled water into kadai to remove tar as it is quite thick and tough. But it did not go. I boiled twice. Still tough. Then i applied coconut oil to remove. It worked. Then i did the onion process.

I saw preseasoning video of The Indus Valley brand, there, they used dishwash detergent soap and said that liquid dishwash could be used as well. They pour water in a large vessel added liquid starch to it and left it for 24 hours. Which one to trust ? Your's or there's ?
The starch method is also good but please do not use any kind of detergent after that process.

@@CookingwithGirija I used it before viewing your video. But I soaked it in water for two hours, then boiled water in it according to the instructions of the seller. Then I cooked rice and it became black. Is it iron or dirt?
Besides, the seller sharpened and smoothened the kadai with machined wheel

Sabun se nahi dhone se acha hai. Aisa karne se jo seasoning hai vo nikal jayega. Garam pani se saaf karen. Kadai ache se saaf ho jati hai.

Why not to use soap for cleaning? Even after seasoning the kadai, can't we use soap ? If soap not used , then pehle khaane Ka smell toh Nahi aayega next recipe me ?
Oil is used to season the cast iron kadai and create a nonstick surface, detergent can effectively wash off the cure that you worked so hard to build. :)

I suggest starting me na use karen . Ek baar ache se seasoning ho jaye tab use karen. There are so many brands in market. I suggest indus valley or mannarcraft.

@@CookingwithGirija i boiled water into kadai to remove tar as it is quite thick and tough. But it did not go. I boiled twice. Still tough. Then i applied coconut oil to remove. It worked. Then i did the onion process.

You have used oil on the bottom and kept on the fire, I think it is dangerous. Why can't we use a detergent and only use salt
It's not dangerous. By applying detergent the seasoning might get spoiled wherein applying salt will just take the dirt away.
