Thanks for showing and telling us about the Super Rare 72 Pete Cabover Truck that once belong to you. Super stroke that it is back home.. have a beer on me Mate..
I am so frickin' jealous. I wish i could have my 70 KW COE 12V71 truck back like you. Good wishes, I'll be following this one for sure. And it's too quiet!!
Back in the day I used to drive a Pete very similar to this one. Pulled a 40ft food grade milk tanker with it. One of the best looking best running truck I ever drove !
Nice to see this Wayno. Outside truck shows, Cab-overs have become a rare sight. Europe never stopped using them but the Euro truckers I met when living there tended to really worship our old US-made rigs. My old 362 is often out and about. Whenever I roll into a truck stop with a load, other truckers are pleased but can't believe that I'm using "that antique" to do real work. I'd of course prefer Detroit power but the Cummins and the entire truck have been very reliable. Used it to move several loads of heavy machines over high passes in all sorts of extreme weather, 700 miles to the south. Getting ready to do it all again; this time 1500 miles east x several more loads (machine addiction continues to blossom; no need to explain that to viewers of this channel). Might need to get a CDL this time!
Wayne, I'm from just south of Waterloo Iowa. The Cummins tech guy up at Freightliner in Evensdale Iowa has an, I believe a '73 cabover Freightliner. He pulled the 12v71 out of it, and last I knew, he still has it, and it did run when he pulled it out. I can't tell you if he has it anymore, I just knew that he did. Food for thought I guess.
Uncle Wayne when you bought the v12 cabover you said it was the closest thing to your old truck you'd ever find. Is this the truck that you were talking about?
Great video Wayne really nice classic old Peterbilt. The 8V92 is very quiet compared to your other trucks. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
Yeah it’s good to see Wayne happy , he said awhile back he was struggling , I could tell the last couple of videos doing that 8v71 blower he was really enjoying it . A really talented guy is Wayne you’re lucky to have him . We’re lucky that he shares a little bit of his life with us ! Always enjoy anything he shows us . All the best thank you .
Hey Wayne.. on those dash mounted volt meters.. they usually monitor the load side off the ignition switch, and you'll always have a certain amount of voltage drop, even if the alternator is set at 14.3 to 14.5 vdc on the output. It's especially evident if you have a bunch of lights putting a load on that circuit. One way you can alleviate that, is to find the 'voltage sense' wire on the alternator and run it to the -load- HOT side of the ignition. You'll actually read 14.8 vdc or higher at the B+ on the alternator, but it will maintain 13.8-14.2 at the gauge when revved up. (and your lights will be a little brighter as well). A lot of GM/Delco 10si - 27si alternators for automotive use would shortcut the voltage sense wire right to the B+ output instead of running to the HOT side of the ignition, and it worked ok as long as you didn't have a lot of accessories running, but the proper way is routing it to the -load- HOT side of the ignition switch, so it will compensate for the voltage drop.😉 Hope this helps!
What an absolute unit! She needs some green class lights in the center and she’d be cherry.. loving the editing lately too! Keep up the good work WayneO
My neighbor in Lykers, Scott Bradshaw parted with this jewel as he had a 60s era White dump , plus a Brockway tractor, but his real love is an R model Mack, as hemade farm milk pickups for 30 yerars . And I can't get through on his phone to console him !
That's a really clean old truck. I really like the old green interior... Kenworth had green interior back in the late 70's and 80's too. In the 70's they actually had three different colors of green and you could mix them together. Those interiors were really cool... Does the roof a/c work ? My first driving job was driving a 74 KW dump truck for my moms cousin. I started on my 18th birthday in 1979. I had always loved the sound of the old 318's and that's what it truck had. I thought it was so cool. It had dual stacks and the mufflers were basically worthless, but after about 6 or 8 months of driving it every day, I had my fill of the noise LOL...
Glad to see your fleet grow. Much rather watch you than spoiled rich boys build lifted pick ups. Enjoy ALL your videos and eagerly await the next one !!!
Cabovers will always be my favorite. My dad has always been a trucker but when I was real young he had his own truck. Beautiful green and white Pete. He always had a million royal pine air fresheners hanging from everything and he’d have a dip in his top lip, dip in his bottom lip, while chewing on sunflower seeds and a toothpick hanging out of his mouth. You couldn’t understand a fuckin word he said but those were some great memories riding with him in there 🤣
Now i like's that big girl right there, i can't until you really open her up once you get through twiking with a few things here there, shit she looks ready for work now, good buy bro thanks for sharing as always. ✌️ peace & hair grease 💯
Just wondering why you want bias ply tires? I like the rims that are on it. Not digging the avocado interior. But glad you got your baby back. Detroits rule!
Are you going to replace the engine with a 12V 71 ? I like this truck but if I had a choice I would want a 362 with a 700 hp Cat 3406E and 18 speed , WOW !
Most importantly , it has the old style shifter . The newer crap that tilts with the cab feels like a spatula in a bowl of spaghetti ,,, ! ,,, rather see you common rail the '92 ,,, .
@@Ol2Stroker man that's awesome one of yours made it over seas and I can't believe you're selling mossy already I figured you'd do another show season with the reefer before you'd sell it but it'll still look good behind this one

Can't wait for the full story on this truck! I wasn't around when you had it.

Them dual through-cab air intakes are badass!!!!
Back in the day I used to drive a Pete very similar to this one. Pulled a 40ft food grade milk tanker with it. One of the best looking best running truck I ever drove !

Congratulations 🎊 🥳 what a sweetheart of a truck. Definitely going to be sharp hooked up to the reefer👌🏻

That's one sweet 'ol rig there! Get them Bias-Plies on the front & she'll be golden. (yea, its too quiet for a screamin jimmy!) 😮
Uncle Wayne when you bought the v12 cabover you said it was the closest thing to your old truck you'd ever find. Is this the truck that you were talking about?

I love that you're tickled pink 😂 Scott did a really good job on cleaning her up! Not sure where you'll ever find a 12 to put back in it 😂😂😂

Beautiful Pete Wayno I would leave those nice Buds on the front wheels IMO

It looks and sounds cool Wayne. You know what would be cool...... is if you put an ingersol rand air starter on one of your trucks!

@@Ol2StrokerFair enough. Not really a big concern this time of year LOL
I recently bought a 1971 Hendrixson dump truck with a 671 sounds cool but I gotta find a way to get some more power out the ole girl
I'll bet James pretty would make you a hell of a deal for the 12 he has.
Wayne-O!

Next looking feet bar Point one thing wrong with it Yeah Detroit in it
Nice, old, 352. Put a 12V-71 back in it? Why would you not?

I need some Detroit mudflaps like you were showing off on the cabover. I didn’t see them in your merch. Where does a fella get them?
Imagine putting air intake tubes through the living space of the cab!
Screw the driver, work around this!
Peach!!!!!❤
So cool❤
What happened to the other rare Peterbilt cabover with the V12?
Will we get to see that one again?
Bad ass!
STRAIGHT PIPES!!!
Schwing!!!
so what'S the plan on this one reswap a V12 or cut buff and keep as another yard ornament?
You gonna ls swap that Pete lmao
🤣🤣
Is that the truck that had the custom sears screen door grill attachment on it ?
Are you going to put a 12v back into it ?
They don't build em like that anymore.
You must have sold it before I found your channel. What color was it when you owned it before? Did it still have the V12 ?
Shes a beauty , Wayne
Are you going to replace the engine with a 12V 71 ? I like this truck but if I had a choice I would want a 362 with a 700 hp Cat 3406E and 18 speed , WOW !
I can't decide. It runs mint rn.
Im just wondering why you prefer bias ply steering tires.
I like the look
🇺🇸

Most importantly , it has the old style shifter . The newer crap that tilts with the cab feels like a spatula in a bowl of spaghetti ,,, ! ,,, rather see you common rail the '92 ,,, .
