Ryan, I have just started carving and I'm amazed at your accomplishments! Absolutely awesome work. Being an old 69 yr old disabled man, I've become so discouraged that I can't get the results I'm looking for. You've given me hope..to keep on working and trying! Ty.

And yes, I be Iresh.... So I can say [taint]!...lol Ryan do make it look easy tho eh me friend!
@@OneOfAMine No one can do something flawless at their first try. Time and practice will make it better.. I am amazed when people look at a piece of wood and see a bear, owl, eagle or whatever they see. But I think things like that come wiith practice and time. It is a different way of thinking maybe. You can do it Sir!
Yeah it was awesome- apparently a "saburrtooth" rasp bit- looked like a drum shape. I've never gotten to try any of them (or "kutzall" brand bits either).. each bit is like $18- and you really need a handful of different shapes, sizes, and "grits" to do decent sculptures..
I am so intrigued with wood working and have some dremel tools to get started. Looking for beginner videos and came across this video. Thank you for sharing. I seen you on Big Timber and absolutely love the totem you did and with a chainsaw. Just amazing 😮
you got crazy talent man! and your a great teacher...thank you so much ...i ve been carving for bout a year and i really wish i woulda seen your videos when i first started ...could a saved me a lot of heartache and over worked pieces....anyways .....dont stop making videos!
Just tuned in. I love the bear. Most of my beginner carves was with hand tools. I'm trying the Dremel out to change up my beginner techniques. Thanks for some good hints .
I have been playing around making some chess pieces in my shop but the knights require mostly hand carving. I was looking for inspiration on good ways to carve the knights with my flex shaft equipment. Your video helped me a lot. Thank you very much!
Hi Ryan, I loved how easy and straight forward you did this bear. I couldn't catch the exact tips you used. Especially the one you made the fur. Could you show me?
Thanks for the information and the inspiration. I am a beginner and like you said you just have to keep doing it. This is all a learning process. Thank you for your great videos. Keep up the good work.
Very awesome! I loved the video just wished you weren’t so cold, you made me cold! Hahaha I had to watch with a blanket. Totally enjoyed it, great job 😀😀😀
Just found your channel, and very nice. I know you do a LOT of chain saw carvings but like to see the dremel stuff. I also watch Jordy's youtube. I know I won't be doing chainsaw, but like watching others do it.
Well I was inspired by your dremal work. I tried a bear upright doesn't look as good as yours but I'm pleased with my piece. Still learning from your videos. Thanks
there will be some coming up but its just so much work to do. I hope to soon but has to be done in a more timely manner takes me like the time it takes to edit 5 videos
Great video Ryan. I did not like the way you were treated by the other carvers on the TV show. This was a good video to introduce people to power carving. I would love to be able to do the larger chain saw type carving, but have a bad back. My wife and I have the Ram BP50 power carver and been very happy withe it. It is much quieter than a dremel and has less vibration with more power. The harbor freight is a good way to see if you like power carving. We use a PSI D725 to catch the wood chips and dust to allow us to carve inside the house.
Geeze that’s awesome should be simple enough just remove everything that’s not a bear, yea right haha ! Would take me a long time. Many years ago I was carving a lot of wood spirit walking sticks and a preacher wanted a staff with a lion on top, the lion of Juda, I bought a small toy lion to go by but I stopped carving that was probably 30 years ago now I am thinking maybe I should start again. Thanks for showing this .
